Summary: Dan and Phil score tickets to Hamilton and then have a series of “this could only happen to Dan and Phil” series of adventures.

Summer is just ending, but do you already miss the heatwaves, lying on a beach, the feel of the summer sun on your skin? Do you miss reading (or maybe writing!) fics on those lazy summer evenings? Do you miss the feel good atmosphere of it? Well, look no further…

A summer of cheesy plots, corny settings, fluffy, slow burn fics! Phandom Summer Fics combines it all! 

Maybe you’ve seen Love, Simon or The Proposal. Maybe you’ve read one of Sophie Kinsella’s books or Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding. Maybe you just want that romance that keeps you up at night smiling to yourself because you’re just so happy. Or maybe you’re just itching to write something that fills you with joy and you’d like to share it with the world.

These fics will see impossible romances happen, where they fall in love against all odds, where no matter what they find their way back to each other. Dan and Phil will fall in love over and over again, in multiple universes, canon or not, in multiple ways.

So get your favourite tropes, get your keyboards! Write about fake dating, about ‘oh my god they were roommates’, about coffeeshops, about friends to lovers, about mutual pining. 

Write about them being stranded somewhere in the Caribbean! Is it a Mamma Mia! AU? Is it a To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before AU? Maybe Phil has a villa somewhere in Tuscany and Dan, running from a heartbreak, just happens to find it. Is one of them a wedding planner for the wedding of the century and the other is the clueless tourist who ruins said wedding? Are they roadtripping through Europe?

Write it as cheesy as you want, as cliche as you want! Make it super fluffy, super romantic! The only thing we ask is that these fics must have happy endings! (We all want them to end up together, right?)

There’s a slight change of plans. Before you start worrying, posting will still happen during the summer, the event is not cancelled, but to remove the pressure from you, we won’t be giving you a date to post your fic.

Basically, this means that you’re free to post your fic at any point. 

If you signed up for long or medium, you can start posting whenever you feel ready after 1 June. However, if you’re posting your fic in chapters (they don’t have to go live at the same time), please try to upload the last chapter before midnight on 31 August.

If you signed up for June and/or July and/or August posting, you can post your fic at any point during that month.

Now, you might be asking why we’re doing this and why we didn’t have this as the original setup. We have thought about it and talked about it, and came to the conclusion that even though this event cycle started in last August, life happens. Sometimes you get busy, sometimes you’re just not in the right head space. We don’t want you stressing about a deadline or posting, so we’re removing time restraints. We would like you to have fun and be happy with your story.
