okay but like…. even a year ago there would’ve been comments made like “I’ve just crept into dan’s room to see if he’s awake” and “ugh look at all this hair why did I let you use the mirror in my room to get it cut??” (instead of dan playing with his hair n being soft) and excuses and jokes and coverups at every turn. but now there’s just….. not? now they just Exist and let us think whatever we want, without ever denying anything? they get up in each other’s spaces and make innuendos constantly and dan never makes any “I don’t wanna see this lemme just turn away looking disgusted” jokes, they stare at each other happily without glancing awkwardly at the camera after, there are less and less jumpcuts and more domestic ramblings every video. they say things they would’ve never said before and at times where they could easily make jokes, they don’t. not even when dan’s head is literally between phil’s legs.

The Age Of Denial is over, folks. The Age Of Existing is upon us. who knows, soon we may even arrive at The Age Of Confirming.

[One] Okay, let’s just start at the beginning, where dan is sprawled across the entire fucking couch, leaving phil no choice but to just nudge in next to him at the very edge. Just two bros chilling zero feet apart on a couch because they gay:

[four] i’m not going to lament this too much here because it’s being discussed plenty elsewhere, but i can’t NOT mention how comfortable dan is in bed… on one side of the bed… and how the covers are arranged like a second person just got out…. almost like boyfriend one decided to mockingly film boyfriend two.

[five] the entire bit with the shocking devices. i mean, first let’s look at the face dan makes right after phil shocks him, like he really wants to do and say something different before he turns all stern for the audience

and then there’s dan’s face right after phil shocks him the second time, which segues into the flirtiest bit of the video, when dan chases after phil (accompanied by phil’s ‘oh my god my boyfriend is gonna getttt meee’ giggle)

[six] these boys are sitting so fucking close together on the couch, like look at their legs.

and that hot “foot content” yeah that’s the WRONG foot for it dan’s… meaning phil has gone and tucked his leg into dan’s space

[seven] protip: scaring your boyfriend is always an effective flirting technique. i mean, just look how enamored he is.

other flirty moments: - dan playing with phil’s hair after the haircut, swoosh swoosh swoosh - “so guide us through it, lester” (re: the model of the set) idk why but it always gets me when they call each other by their last names? it’s just so ?? flirty ?? - “real life butterfingers” (when dan drops his phone) wow way to just call your boyfriend out by referencing his old videos, eh? - “I’m going to eat you, don’t get it wrong. It’s not going to happy the other way around.”

Can you break down the bedroom thing? I read your tags and you have me excited I need more proof.

I didn’t want to become this person, but as someone asked…

I’ll gladly dissect a few things. 

Let’s start with the hair cut: 

I have several questions about this: 

Why the hell would anyone, specifically a “roommate”, agree to have someone cut their hair in your room?? Doesn’t matter about the “convenience” of the giant mirror, why would you do that? 

Maybe because it’s your room too? Maybe because you and your partner don’t care about cleaning up a “poodle sized” amount of hair on your bedroom floor? 

Still find it a bit weird tbh but whatever

okay, so this. (I enhanced the brightness just in case you were wondering) 

Let’s point out the obvious three things already: 

Dan’s on the left side of the bed, easily comfortable, like he’s been there for a while

The covers are strewn looking like someone just got out of bed, add the thick memory foam looking pillow that also looks used as Dan hoards maybe 3 behind himself propping him up

Phil’s grey shoes are on the shoe rack second row down 

I mean at this point, it’s really hard to find counter arguments to this? Dan looks so comfy and relaxed. He had a sleepy calm voice, I bet Phil was wearing glasses and no pants behind the camera. Just, what a sweet little clip of domestic married bliss

The 16th of April - ANNIVERSARY theory

***DISCLAIMER*** I did not do this for the sake of invading on Dan and Phil’s privacy. Everything mentioned IS STILL on the internet and nothing has been asked to taken down or out of privacy. 

This is an actual theory I have come up with because NO ONE else knows exactly why April is such an interesting month for them. After doing some digging, and digging, and more digging, I have come to the conclusion that it’s not really a coincidence. They HAVE in fact plan specific and rather more romantic dates around the 16th of April. 

To follow my fic, if they were to have an anniversary it would be because it would be just to have one. They don’t celebrate the 19th of October like we do. They’re such private people that we don’t really know what exactly happened on that day/week they first spent together. It’s also not the first time they started talking. It’s not the first time they settled down and moved in together. It’s their origin story, but that doesn’t mean it’s their anniversary. 

SO WHY APRIL??  Because nothing ever happens in April. It’s Dan’s favorite season, right after Phil’s which is winter. April is that transitioning month where cold goes warm and life begins again. Take that as a metaphor if you will. It’s a random date in a random time that no one will guess and it’s just for them. 

So, here’s your proof as WHY April could be (because this is all speculation don’t throw me under the bus) their anniversary

do you also think dan was gonna say "I don't want to see phil's butt" but then changed it bc he didn't want to go full no-homo-we're-just-friends? bc it isn't like dan to pass up an opportunity (that phil later took) to talk about the male characters butt

I think Dan said something that sounded a bit flirty/sexual about Phil (show me the booty) and his kneejerk reaction was to temper. But then something in his brain shifted and he backtracked on the no homo, which is just fucking fascinating, isn’t it? What was going on in his head in that moment? 

Because it’s the most Dan think in the world to say something suggestive then sneer at the idea that it’s suggestive about Phil in an over the top way. That was a staple feature of Dan in the gaming channel for years. But it’s mostly gone now, and when it does reassert itself like some kind of sense memory for him - he doubles back to clarify character, he doesn’t want to see Phil’s character. Something about that was important enough for him to not just let it go or think they’d edit it out later, but to amend his statement. 

I want to have been a fly on the wall for that editing moment, too. Because he still had the power to remove it totally, if he wanted to, and he didn’t.
