tumblr should teach me languages. i am very responsible with them.
j'aime bien ça <3
If you’re having a bad day, just remember that someone somewhere is seeing Safety Tips From Anubis for the very first time.
That person is me
as an egyptologist, this fake egyptian bothered me so much. so i fixed it.
basic pronunciation followed by egyptological transcription in parentheses and translation in quotation marks.
frame 1: inek inpu (i̓nk i̓npw), “I am Anubis”
frame 2, poison: em wenem (m wnm), “do not eat”
frame 3, smoke detector: pa-yee pu em khenem khety (pꜣy pw m ḫnm ḥty), “this is for smelling smoke”
frame 4: ah-sh pa-yee tchen yot khena ta-yee tchen mawt (ꜥš pꜣy.ṯn i̓t ḥnꜥ tꜣy.ṯn mwt), “call your father and your mother”
frame 5: ankh wedja seneb (ꜥnḫ wḏꜣ snb), “live, prosper, and be healthy” ← like egyptian “farewell”
i love this description. the ability to bring down the moon is literally so basic to thessalian womanhood that even girls can do it
Peter Hall's 1983 staging of Tony Harrison's adaptation of Aeschylus' Oresteia.
This is legitimately my comfort watch now.

Long time no see! I recently got a Plotter writing pad and it somehow reminded me of this blog and gradblr community.
My research keeps getting more and more interesting. I’m trying something big to fund my academic life!
Handwritten VS Typed Korean
This post has been requested by @softsoundmidnightcarlight !
The letters in purple are the letters used for calligraphy but some people with messy handwriting use it for everyday use (not recommended)
When handwriting Korean letters, you’ll notice that Korean people don’t write the letter as you see in when it’s typed! Korean people tend to write these letters so that it’s easier to write. You’ll notice this the most with ‘ㄹ’! Since ‘ㄹ’ is made up of 5 separate lines that are very straight and rigid, when you write it quickly it tends to look more like the English letter ‘z’!
