It felt quite empty without Dan here. So empty that you could here the echo of your footsteps on the hardwood floors. Him and Phil left for tour, and won’t be back for another week after an agonizing 2 months.
Even though you guys managed to stay in contact everyday, you still felt a desire in you to hold him tight. And an even stronger desire for him to hold you in his long, warm, protecting arms.
You made it through the long days and even longer nights by reading fanfiction and looking at the danisnotonfire tag on Tumblr, with the safety mode off. You always had that moment to look forward too, though, when he would call you at 7 o'clock sharp, always on time.
But today, you felt worried. It was 7:49 and no contact from Dan whatsoever. You felt alone, and you weren’t gonna lie to yourself, you felt a little betrayed too.
After a couple minutes of sitting and thinking you decided to go lay down, thinking about the moment when Dan would come home in a little over a week. Once you got to Dan’s room you let a couple of tears drop. It smelled like him, a mix of cologne he got in Japan and his favorite flavor of gum, mint.
You lay on his bed and wrapped you self up in his comforter, missing the warmth he gave you. The thought of not having him around was really getting to you, making you quite depressed actually.
Your thoughts was interrupted by a ding from your phone that you had left in the living room. You got up and hurried to the sound, making sure not to slip on the hard surface of the floor. Once you reached it, it was a text from Phil that read…
“Come down stairs and outside.”
You raised your eyebrow at it, but did as you were told. You put on your jacket and beanie and laced up your shoes and went outside. When you got out there you were immediately hit by the cold of an upcoming winter storm. You didn’t see anything, so you looked around. To your left, right, and front, there was no sight of Phil or anything he might have left. You felt like a complete idiot compared to the business men with suits and briefcases who actually knew where they are going. You turned around to go back inside but you stopped in your tracks.
A bench was decorated with red roses and twinkling lights. Phil was standing a little ways from the bench, but Dan was standing there with his hands folded in front of him. You ran towards him and he got the drift and held his arms out as you jumped into them. He picked you up off his feet and decided to spin you around. Once he stopped and put you back on your feet, he let go of you and stood back. You were confused as to why he was doing this.
He got down on one knee and pulled out a black velvet box and opened it to reveal a beautiful diamond ring. By now, people were watching. A few girls, probably fans of his, had phones out filming it as well as Phil.
“Y/N, I am a lucky man to have you. You are a smart, confident, young lady and I am honestly still confused as to why you picked me out of all the people. Your smile is to die for, and your eyes are as green as the Forrest of the Amazon. You have always been my first love and I want to keep it that way. So, Y/N, will you marry me?”
You were pretty sure the huge smile and tears that was streaming down you face told him yes, but just in case you said yes.
“Yes, Dan. I will marry you!” You said, happy sobs coming out of you, probably making you look like a pysco, but you didn’t care. He slid the ring on your ring finger and jumped up. He grabbed the sides of your face and stared into your eyes before he kissed you with such passion. When you each pulled away, he screamed “She said yes!” and the area around you filled with claps. You hugged Dan and never wanted to let go.
He was your first love, and that never changed.
