Sorry i took forever to respond to this, I had no idea where the ask box was.

I appreciate the kind words! Here is my typical process for specifically the wings of fire designs ive been doing!

(In photo format because I have terrible procreate etiquette (all my drawings are layers on the same canvas))

I start with a very lose sketch just to figure out the flow I want

Then I go in and draw all the lineart and scales and stuff. With more details involved I thicken the lines around where deeper shadows would be to help it be easier to distinguish what is going on.

Then I go in and throw around some rough colors

After that I work head to tail on the color details. Do a little bit of messing around with hue and saturation, some gradient maps, then I finish it off with colored lineart!

A very 0-100 process, but my best advice is make something ugly then adjust it so it isn’t ugly anymore. My timelapses are a caboodle of nonsense that eventually looks good.
