ăIkemen Zunkaă [Dress rehearsal report] Theatrical Company Dramatica ACT 4 / Witch and Gingerbread House
Original Article
translated by phantombanquet
The first day of Theatrical Company Dramatica ACT 4 / Witch and Gingerbread House has kicked off at Shinagawa Stellar Ball on August 23, 2024! Here is a report on the stage rehearsal.
â» Please note that the report below the cut contains spoilers
For ACT 4, âWitch and Gingerbread Houseâ will be performed based on Grimmsâ Fairy Tale âHansel and Gretelâ!
This work is an original story by the theater circle and theatrical company âDramaticaâ organized by Wataru Hibiki, a character appearing in the idol produce game Ensemble Stars!!.
The appeal of the theatrical company Dramatica is its âdouble theatrical structureâ in which the characters from the game play the roles. This is a stage where fans of the game hold high expectations as they will be aboe to see a new side of the characters.
Another popular stage project of Enstars!!, which has continued to adapt stage projects since the first performance of ACT 1 in 2021, will depict a new story based on the fairy tale âHansel and Gretelâ!
We bring to you a detailed report on the stage, where the audience was captivated by the singing, dancing, and acting!
Wandering through the forest, the brothers arrive at an âunfinished gingerbread house.â
The play begins with a scene in which Hansel (played by Mika Kagehira / Hiroki Ino) and Gretel (played by Nazuna Nito / Natsuki Osaki), who were abandoned by their step-mother, wandered into a forest, huddled up together.
Hansel and Gretel realize that they have been abandoned, and try to act cheerful to shake off their sadness.
As they travel deeper into the forest, they discover a strange house. The house made up âsweets.â In there, Patty (played by Wataru Hibiki / Kazuma Yasui) and Ark (played by Hokuto Hidaka / Ikkei Yamamoto) were are arguing over something.
The cause of their argument is that they cannot compromise to their commitment to each other in order to fulfill the request of âcreating the ultimate gingerbread house.â When Hansel hears their argument, he offers to help build the gingerbread house.
Hansel is first asked to pick fruit for the raw ingredient of sugar. As he heads into the forest with his âtaming whistleâ to ward off beasts, he is immediately attacked by a beast. Hansel was given a âtaming whistle,â but is unable to tame the beast because he has not been taught how to blow it.
In a tight spot, the witch Dicey (played by Shu Itsuki / Taiki Yamazaki) appears.
Dicey plays a beautiful tune and tames the beast in the blink of an eye. The beautiful sound and the kindness shown by Dicey captivated Hansel as if âtime had stopped.â
Hansel is fascinated Dicey and asks to be his apprentice. Even though Dicey refuses, saying, âYou are not a witch to begin with,â Hanselâwith all his strengthâpushes his way into Diceyâs house. Thus, Hansel became Diceyâs helper.
Just when it seems that they are living in peace, something strange begins to happen to Dicey. It appears that the âsecretâ that the witches possess is affecting them. Once the âsecretâ is revealed, their relationship begins to change.
A suspicious figure watches over Dicey. Lao (played by Tsumugi Aoba / Hiromu Kudo) calls himself âa strange person who likes to take walks,â but what exactly is his true identity and purpose...
Theatrical Company Dramatica ACT 4 is based on the Grimmsâ fairy tale Hansel and Gretel and begins with a new story involving the strange encounter between a witch and children. Please enjoy the âmiracleâ they create in the theaterâ
Cast Comments:
Dicey (Shu Itsuki) played by Taiki Yamazaki
I thought that this work, Dramatica ACT 4, which was challenged under a new organization, was a result of fearless triar and error. Although this work is derived from Ensemble Stars!!, I think it has been completed as a single story, and I feel that we are getting closer to the real âDramaticaâ one step at a time. I would be happy if you could come visit the theater.
Hansel (Mika Kagehira) played by Hiroki Ino
First of all, I am happy to be involved in Enstars!! once again. I would like to take on the baton firmly and pass it on to the next in hopes that the series of works that have been performed and weaved will continue to be loved for many years to come! The result is a typical fun and pop-like work of Dramatica. I know this is personal... But I am sure Iâll be able to show you a side of myself that can only be seen in this work.... (Laughs). Everyone in this company is looking forward to your sweets.... No, or rather, your âvisitâ!
Gretel (Nazuna Nito) played by Natsuki Osaki
Since it was my first time to join Dramatica, I was quite nervous until rehearsals started, but I read the script, shared lines with everyone, and had a lot of fun being engaged during the rehearsals. This is Gretel, not played by Natsuki Osaki, but played by Nazuna Nito. I would like to bring you the fresh ideas born out of our imagination during rehearsals!!
Lao (Tsumugi Aoba) played by Hiromu Kudo
This will be Tsumugi's first time participating in Dramatica troupe, and I am very much looking forward to playing him as completely different from the Tsumugi Aoba in Enstage, which I did in the past! This work is based on âHansel and Gretel,â a fantasy filled with a human touch. I look forward to working with Tsumugi to figure out how to portray this original role of Lao. I will do my best to convey a wonderful work and show you a new side of Tsumugi Aoba. Please look forward to it!
Patty (Wataru Hibiki) played by Kazuma Yasui
I am truly grateful that this theatrical company Dramatica has continued to ACT 4 and that I am still able to play the role of Wataru Hibiki! ACT 1, 2, 3 each had their own unique color, and we will bring you another unique color this time as well! Please enjoy the newly directed and powered-up Dramatica by Ikkei-kun, who plays the role of Hokuto!
Ark (Hokuto Hidaka) played by Ikkei Yamamoto
Finally! Theatrical Company Dramatica ACT 4 / Witch and Gingerbread House has begun! A new fairy tale story based on Hansel and Gretel. The entire company has been working hard during rehearsals to create a work that will remain in everyone's hearts. In this work, the characters of Enstars!!, each played by a different person, faced their own thoughts and worries about their roles, and the answers to their worries are found in this work. I hope that you will remember each and every one of them in your hearts. I would like to deliver this production without missing a single person until the final performance, so we appreciate your support until the very end!
What day is it today? It's the opening day of the stage play!

Today is the opening day of Theatrical Company Dramatica ACT 4 / âWitch and Gingerbread Houseâ!
Once the curtain rises, an enchanted world of fairy tale and mystery awaits.
Taiki Yamazaki, Ikkei Yamamoto, and Kazuma Yasui pose in outfits inspired by the idols they play.
Take a look at the elements that are reminiscent of Shu, Hokuto, and Wataru!

QUESTION: Today is finally the opening day of Theatrical Company Dramatica ACT 4 / âWitch and Gingerbread Houseâ! This work is a unique 2.5 dimensional stage project in which the idol characters based on the popular app game âEnsemble Stars!!â act as actors in an original story separate from the game's story. Please tell us the things that you keep in mind on stage when playing a role in the theatrical company âDramaticaâ.
Yamamoto: As for the theatrical company âDramaticaâ, I am conscious about the process of creating the stage and amount of time needed to interpret the role as a character since I think these are very important. For example, I played the role of Goku in Dramatica ACT 1 / âJourney to the West- The Eternal Legend,â but rather than deliberately expressing âHokuto playing as Goku,â I think asked myself, âIf I were Hokuto, how could I put a lot of effort and stress in playing as Goku?â and I think it is important to worry together with them during rehearsals. I felt for the first time that when the character and Iâas the actorâare in harmony with each other, the two roles in my mind become one. And I think it would be great if that aspect becomes the charm of the theatrical company âDramaticaâ.
Yamazaki: When I was asked to play in ACT 1, someone pointed out that I was acting too similar to Shu Itsuki. It's always a difficult thing to figure out the amount of seasoning to use. This time in âWitch and Gingerbread House,â I also still want to retain the character of Shu Itsuki in some parts of my performance.
Yasui: It is really difficult to play the role as Wataru-san. Since his character is an acting genius, I can never fail. During ACT 1, I honestly felt like throwing up because there was so much pressure (Laughs). But after finishing ACT 1, I think that pressure has changed for the better. I realized that if I think too much, I would get stuck. It's hard to express it well, but I believe I am more conscious of how much I can match with Wataru-san's mindset when he does theater performances.
QUESTION: All of you appeared in ACT 1 and ACT 2, what can we expect to see more of this time around?
Yasui: Although I play the same âWataru Hibiki,â the character I play changes drastically depending on the performance, which is always very refreshing. Of course, this time, ACT 4 also has a different role to play! Moreover, there will be interactions with idols who have not appeared before, so I hope you look forward to seeing how this will cause a chemical reaction to spread. I am sure that something new will happen that wasn't present in ACT 1 or ACT 2.
Yamazaki: During ACT 1, I started out feeling rather clueless about how to do it. But once it begun, I felt a great amount of strength to stand alongside with my colleagues. It is a memorable work in which we put in a lot of effort to establish one new genre. This time, since I also performed in the previous two productions, I am much more familiar with various aspects, so I hope to create it a work that will make people think, âThis is Dramatica!â
QUESTION: In addition to appearing in Theatrical Company Dramatica ACT 4 / âWitch and Gingerbread House,â Yamamoto-san will also be in charge of directing the play. Please tell us your expectations in terms of the stage production.
Yamamoto: The most important thing is for the audience to enjoy the show, and I hope that my direction will help them immerse themselves in the performance. I would like for the audience to finish watching the play without leaving the world of âWitch and Gingerbread Houseâ until the curtain rises and falls. Hence, there are various production devices, such as stage sets moving along with the scene and the changing of the lights, but I believe that it is ideal for the audience to enjoy this real-time changes than stress ahout them. The appeal of theater performances is that it allows you to enjoy the phenomenon happening in front of your eyes as a form of entertainment. Without that, it wouldn't be any different from watching a drama or a movie. I hope I can direct in a way that will make the audience feel the fun and greatness of theater as a ârealâ thing.
QUESTION: Lastly, please tell us the appeal of Theatrical Company Dramatica ACT 4 / âWitch and Gingerbread House.â
Yamazaki: In this case, the visuals are full of Shu's worldview, and are quite dense and extremely detailed. I will be performing with Mika Kagehira (played by Hiroki Ino) from the same unit for the first time in a while. In addition to Mika, there will be idols other than members of Dramatica who have not met in the previous stage plays, so I hope that you look forward to seeing how they will interact with each other!

Idia: MALLEUS-SHI, HUH~~~~!Â
THIS GRUDGE⊠SHOULD I LEAVE IT UNSETTLED~~!! Âč
If that happens, that pretentious inexpressiveÂČ guy, who usually keeps up his strong chara moves up in his sleevesâŠ..
I can't help but feel sorry for myself if I don't see his pathetic figure sobbing with a runny nose and begging for forgiveness!
Now, what should I doâŠâŠ Heh⊠Ehehehehehe!
Ortho: W-What a malicious scheming faceâŠ
This⊠May have angered someone who shouldn't be angered~
Idia: HehehâŠâŠ I'll show you. The ultimate power of a lone wolfÂł trained in the gloomy âunderworld.â
Just you wait, Malleus DraconiaâŠâŠ
I'LL GET REVENGE BY SEIZING YOUR SPECIAL WEAKNESS!!!
Ortho: âŠâŠThat's all.
From the magical disaster caused by Malleus Draconia until the awakening of Idia Shroud. This concludes the progress report.
Grim: Oohh~~! While we were fightinâ over in Lilia's dream, that's what happened to you guys.
Silver: I see. So Idia-senpai and Ortho are outside of the magical realm. It means that there is support coming from the real world.Â
Idia: Y-Yeah, t-that sort of thingâŠâŠ Well, for now, we'll be playing a dummy video on the surveillance camera for a short whileâŠâŠ
I can only do this much.
Sebek: So, even if you have woken up, Malleus-sama will fail to notice and the âdarknessâ will not attack you.
Ortho: Yes.. And like I said earlier, Malleus-san is currentlyâŠâŠ
Focused on putting Lilia Vanrouge-san to sleep.Â
So, I expect that he has not traced down the whereabouts of Silver-san and the others.
Sebek: Hm. I honestly want to praise your skills, but it is quite complicated when you are outsmarting Malleus-samaâŠâŠ
Idia: Well, that other guy is a battleship-like⎠cheater so⊠We're still far off from completely capturing him.
Silver: However⊠I had no idea that Malleus-sama continued to expand his magical realm beyond the islandâŠâŠ
Sebek: Furthermore, if the area is forcibly destroyed from the outside, there is a possibility that the trapped person's psyche could also become destroyed!?
Grim: Somehow it's a real mess for real.
[Choice 1] Yuu: Can we do something about this?
[Choice 2] Yuu: (If this continues on, Tsunotarou will become the enemy of mankind.)Â
Ortho: Yes. That's why we need your power!
Silver: Our⊠Power?
Ortho: Currently, the S.T.Y.X. staff is working together to assign ID numbers to the dreams of those trapped in the magical realm.Â
During that time, we captured your magical reaction as you âmoved around on your ownâ in the dream.
Silver: Could it be that it was my âMeet in a Dream?â
It's my unique magic that allows me to cross between dreamsâŠâŠ
Ortho: Yes! That one, that one!
When traces of someone moving from one human dream to another were discovered, the engineers at S.T.Y.X. were in a commotion.
So that was Silver-san's unique magic, after all. Magic is a really mysterious power, huh.
Silver: However, my magic is to reliably travel to the dream of the person I'm targeting after, like you guys. I can't call someone into my dream.
I donât know what else to say; it's hard to explain⊠It's a very intuitive kind of magicâŠâŠ
Thatâs why I was really surprised when Ortho appeared in the Dream Corridor and led us here.Â
Ortho: What are you saying?
S.T.Y.X. prides themselves on their super computers and experts in magical engineering and magical analysis.Â
They tried their best to analyze magic and they finally found a way to travel from dream to dream.Â
Moreover, it is difficult to say that the current method is 100% reproducible so they said: âit's still a beta version.â
The mere fact that you can do it intuitively is astonishing.
Sebek: Hm. So the âpowerâ that you need is Silver's unique magic?
Ortho: That's a part of it, too, butâŠ
Sebek Zigvolt-san, Grim-san, and Yuu-san, your cooperation is essential.
Grim: Hmph! You're just trying to make us do the messy work, aren't ya!
Ortho: Wow⥠Grim-san, you talk too fast.Â
[Choice 1] Yuu: This pattern is similar to the headmageâŠâŠ
[Choice 2] Yuu: I don't see any other reason to be called outâŠâŠ
Sebek: Hmph, I don't like this sluggishness. Get to the point!!
Idia: S-So, uhhhâŠâŠ. While you guys were chattering in Lilia-shi's dream..
I-I was trying to think of a way to escape from my dream worldâŠâŠ
Or rather, I've been trying to come up with a strategy to deal with Malleus-shi.
[Choice 1] Yuu: Is your strategy to get him to cry and beg for forgiveness while his nose is runny?
[Choice 2] Yuu: Is it a strategy to take revenge by capturing their special weakness?
Idia: Y-Yeah. That⊠Hih, hihi.
Anyhow, I made a video to explain that strategyâŠâŠ W-Would you like to watch it?
Grim, Silver, Sebek: Video?
Idia: Waah~âȘ
Only good things have been happening lately~
It's so fun every day~
It's just like a dream~âŹ
Well.
It was, in fact, really just a dream.
Welcome, all you carefree people who live in the world of empty dreams.
I am Idia Shroud.
So for today, a cheat trick to create a dream world using magic â
â was used by The Most EvilâFinal Boss Mage.
Let me explain the strategy used by Malleus-shi.
The magical realm that Malleus-shi created is kinda like a server running a huge MMORPG.
And each dream of someone sleeping is managed individually.
Malleus-shi is using himself and his alter ego to keep an eye on this server.
To give you an idea, Malleus-shi is a server admin. And his alter ego is cracking down on users to commit violations in the online game â like a gamemaster.
Malleus-shi, with the authority to operate and manage over the entire server, is currently in the state of a demon king who has the world right under his thumb.
Under Malleus-shi's control, we have NO chance of succeedingâŠâŠ
BUT!
Because of the super geek hacker group S.T.Y.X. and Ortho's attack, all of the server's source code (construction formulas of the magical realm) has been analyzed and is now completely visible!
So â I'm going to use that data from my dream to develop and build a cheat tool.
And then get rid of that damned invulnerable status!
It seems like a perfect strategy at first glance, but in fact, thereâs actually a flaw in this cheat strategyâŠâŠ.
If Malleus-shi (the server admin) discovers this during developmentâ
IT'S GAME OVER IN AN INSTANT.
But hold your horses!
Despite that his alter ego uses autonomous magic, with the total population of Sage Island, monitoring and managing the dreams of about 20,000 people is not an easy task â even for Malleus-shi.
If a problem happens here and there in your dream, there's a high chance that you'll have to deal with it by yourself!
Therefore â
Iâll be developing a cheat tool.
I want you guys to catch Malleus-shi's eye and gather party members so we can subdue the demon king.
When everyone wakes up, we'll hand out invite codes that will allow them to travel to my dream.
Then, when all the preparations are ready, Malleus-shi will be lured to my dream and that's when the cheat tool that I developed turns on!!
As planned, Malleus-shi's invulnerability will be canceled.
And by using the invite codes that were diligently handed out, everyone will gather in my dream!
We're going to beat him up with our sheer numbers of forces!
If things go as expected, Malleus-shi will also lift the spell and free usâ!
How was it!?
âA lone wolf magician engineering guy explains how to capture the demon king in
three minutes video.â
If you think this video was good, leave a like!
And this was Idia Shroud.
Grim, Silver, Sebek: ............
Idia: Ummm, e-everyone⊠Thank you for your attention. â”
Th-thatâs whyâŠâŠ
I ask you guys to go on a journey to gather âthe strongest party members who will take on the challenge of defeating the demon king!â
Grim, Silver, Sebek: EHHHHH~~~!?
TO BE CONTINUED...
translator notes:
Âč - ăăăźæšăŻăăă§ăăăčăăă is an old Kansai (Osaka) dialect phrase. This phrase, although it seems like one will forever hold a grudge, actually means something along the lines of: âShall I leave this grudge unresolved? (No, I actually have to solve this),â due to how the phrase is structured (which would be too deep to delve into but itâs mainly because of the ă and ăčă/ăčă in the phrase).
ÂČ - ăăčă«ăăŸă is a Japanese slang usually used as an insult
Âł - ăé°ăăŁă is yet another Japanese slang used to describe someone with a gloomy or reserved personality or introverts. I used a known English slang instead of translating literally to preserve the meaning of the word.
â” - I wanted to note that Idia addressed them as ăçæ§ăwhich is a polite way of addressing others due to the inclusion of æ§ (sama). Also, the âthank you for your attentionâ line was written as ăăæž èŽăąăȘăŹăăŠăŽă¶ă€ăă·ăżă in the text instead of the usual ăăæž èŽăăăăšăăăăăŸăăă which I think it's just to note Idia's personality www.
personal notes: this wasn't jp proofread so there might be inaccuracies;;; additionally aniplex jp actually posted the "how to subjugate the demon king" video but it's only available in japan.. you can still access it by using a vpn though~
ăAnime da Vinciă Ura Kazuki Voice Actor Encyclopedia âI am a newcomer who often receives affectionate comments like: You have a loud voice (LOL).â
Original Article
Date Published: February 24, 2021
translation by: phantombanquet
The annual project of âVoice Actor Encyclopediaâ presents their real selves that lie beneath their characters.
The 258th episode features Ura Kazuki, who plays the role of Kyosuke Aiba in âFutsal Boys!!!!!â and the role of Tsuchiya, a member of the gardening club in âDimension High School.â
Ura-san has a lot to say no matter the topic. He is usually half-jokingly told many times, âYou have a loud voice!â or âYouâre noisy (laugh),â but these words are filled with sincere feelings towards his works and people!
âHow did you become interested in voice acting?â
Ura: When I was in my third year of high school, I felt depressed because everything in my personal and academic life wasnât going well, then I watched âStrike Watchersâ and became influenced. The main character is Yoshika Miyafuji, a girl with a passionate heart who refuses to yield no matter what predicament she finds herself in, and I was moved to tears by the straightforward performance of Misato Fukuen, who plays her. Itâs amazing that voice actors have the power to move peopleâs hearts just like that, and I wanted to do the same. By the time I made up my mind, I was already attending university, but I still went down on my knees in front of my parents to let them allow me to attend a (voice acting) training school as well.
âWhat did you study at university?â
Ura: I had originally always wanted to become a game creator and had studied various things beforehand, so I comprehensively studied programming and other lessons related to games. A lot of people are involved in both anime and games, and lots of time and painstaking efforts are put into them, so I think it was a good experience for me in the sense that I came to feel the responsibility of voice actors being the final piece.
âYou are doing the most out of it now. So what kind of person were you as a child?â
Ura: This may sound contradictory, but I wanted to show off even if I was introverted. I have two older brothers and one younger brother so I donât mind talking to people of the same sex, but I am really bad at talking to girls⊠When I joined the brass band in junior high school, most of the members were girls so stomach medicine was essential (Laughs). My core desire was to not be disliked, and I was troubled for a time by trying to construct my ideal self, wondering, âwhat kind of boy would be the best?â
âHow about now?â
Ura: I can feel more relaxed and can speak as my true self! Although sometimes, I still have stomach medicine with me (Laughs). But I think the experience of carefully creating a character within yourself is essential for acting, so I donât think my experience back then wasnât wasted.
âWhat instruments did you play in your brass band in junior high school?â
Ura: It was the trombone. Itâs an instrument that tends to gain a lot of attention, and I didnât want to play it because I disliked appearing in front of people. However, my advisor saw the way I was talking and said: âYou seem suited for it.â My teacher liked doing interesting stuff; he let us wear Mario cosplays as we performed in concerts and we even made our own GoombaÂč and added the âbyonâ sound effects. It was embarrassing because I was shy, but I had fun working together with everyone to create something.
âItâs funny that someone recommends playing the trombone just based on how you speak.â
Ura: Other times, I was often called out by name to be on the cheerleading squad or become a class representative. I guess I was always too loud because I liked talking to people. And when the boys would get together and talk about nonsense stuff, they would often say, âwell, do it.â I couldnât say it myself, but I was serious despite my loudness, so I think I did what I was told (Laughs).
âAlthough you were introverted, you had a very fulfilling student life.â
Ura: It was definitely fulfilling. When I was in college, I was making games and attending training school while also helping out the public relations department of the university. I would take photos of flyers, roll the cameras, and so on. For some video assignments, I even planned the project, performed it, and created the script and filming all by myself.Â
âDo you like making things?â
Ura: Thatâs right. Now that I think of it, even as a child, my brothers and I used to play by making things out of cardboard instead of asking to buy anime toys.
Iâm regaining my youth through âFutsal Boys!!!!!â
âSo, when you first started working as a voice actor, please tell us your impression when you started dubbing for the first time!â
Ura: Itâs a bit presumptuous, but I was really happy to see the seriousness of my seniors. For example, even a single word like, âAh,â is thought of as why itâs âAh,â and what kind of âAh,â should be said, like, they analyze it on an even deeper level that a newcomer like me wouldn't be able to consider. Thatâs why when thereâs some extra time, they would even check on it even during their spare time, or even while eating. I remember feeling overjoyed to see that because it made me feel good knowing that I had to work harder as well.
âYou play the role of Kyosuke Aiba, in the media mix project âFutsal Boys!!!!!â. How do you feel about being involved in this work, with its realistic training sessions and other activities being shown to the public?â
Ura: Iâve never participated in any sports club activities, so I feel like Iâm regaining my lost youth (Laughs). We would all practice towards our goals, and on the way home, we would have dinner and talked about our reflections, or just enjoy having a nice chat about other things. Of course, itâs my work, but itâs the kind of content that I truly enjoy. There are 29 cast members, so sometimes we practice by team or as a whole.
âThe other teams are your rivals, but do you also talk to them while practicing?â
Ura: Although weâre rivals, we all get along with each other pretty well as we boost one anotherâs presence. We all go out to eat together, so there arenât really any restrictions per team.
âAlthough Kazuki Furuta is on a different team, the two of you are still co-stars. The both of you are members of the same voice acting unit âSHALL WE BLACK OUT?â. What kind of conversations do you usually talk about?â
Ura: We usually talk about comedy (Laughs). Iâm from the Kansai region and I like comedy, so when I tried to tell a joke from the Gerrardon-san trio from a certain program, he seemed to know what I was talking about and followed along. He seriously does lots of research, so he sends me messages in LINE to tell me interesting programs from Tokyo that I donât know of. He also passionately researches futsal, so it inspired me to also do my best, and there are moments when weâre heading the same direction, which makes me really happy whenever we play together.Â
âFuruta-san said that he is closest to Koyo High School, to which he belongs, but how about Momomi High School, which Ura-san belongs to?â
Ura: No, no, I think Koyo has a strong bond, but when it comes to friendship, we, Momomi, are the best! Momomi High School is a team where we find winning important, but we also enjoy having fun together. Our goal is to make people watching think that, âfutsal is so much fun,â so I think we are a very cozy team that can work hard but not too hard (to the point of exhaustion).Â
âYour 2019 performance in âDimension High Schoolâ (playing as the role of Tsuchiya, member of the gardening club) was an unusual type of work that dealt back and forth between the anime part and the live-action part.â
Ura: I didnât pass the audition for the anime part, but I was invited to be part of the live-action part, and it became my first regular work. It was difficult trying to memorize the script at first, so I asked Takuma Zaiki-san for tips on memorization and consulted with Takahide Ishii-san and Takeo Otsuka-san on how to express myself using my body. The entire cast stayed together for a week to shoot on the location. I learned a lot by watching how everyone approaches their performance up close, and I was very happy to meet Ishii-san again in âFutsal Boys!!!!!â.
When I go home, I still say âIâm home!â even though no one is home (Laughs).
âHow do you spend your days off?â
Ura: I often just watch stuff on YouTube. For comedy, I would watch the official channels of Gerrardon-san or Robert-san. I also like games, so I would play online with my friends from my hometown or with other fellow voice actors.Â
âWhat are some of the things that you started doing during the stay-at-homeÂČ period?â
Ura: Iâve always been an indoor person, so not much has changed. Since the house was already kept in perfect condition, I was extremely comfortable during the stay-at-home period while eating meals and playing games without moving a single step (Laughs).
âIsnât it lonely living alone after you moved to Tokyo?â
Ura: Itâs lonely. I have a lot of siblings, so I havenât really had the experience where Iâd come home to an empty house. I still end up saying, âIâm home,â even though no one is home (Laughs). But even if I also like being indoors, I still want to meet people as much as possible and value human connections. I am often approached by random people on the street. They would ask stuff like, âcould you please take a photo?â or, âdo you know a good place to drink?â and so on. A while back, when I was chatting with someone about a bar, he took a liking to me and said, âThatâs neat, letâs have a drink together, brotherÂł!â then he treated me to a drink (Laughs).
âThat kind of thing does happen (Laughs). Have you made any connections at work?â
Ura: Yes, I have. Everyone is so kind and eager to get to know each other, so I am often willing to go out with them for dinner or other places. One of my closest friends for nearly three years is Ayato Morinaga-kun from Mausu Promotion. When I first moved to Tokyo, I was invited to a drinking party and we ended up becoming close with each other; since we also live close-by, we often spend a lot of time together. We both moved to Tokyo around the same time.
âNow, please tell us what kind of voice actor you would like to become in the future!â
Ura: Well, after all, I still want to be known as a good actor. Lately, Iâve been doing work that requires physical appearance as well as singing, but I became a voice actor because I was attracted to acting. First of all, I would like to focus on the core of my acting. As a newcomer, I often receive affectionate comments like, âyou have a loud voice,â or, âyouâre noisy,â but I would like to continue to sincerely work on both the work and the characters. Thank you very much for your support!
Thank you very much, Ura-san!
Look forward to the next âVoice Actor Encyclopediaâ!

ura kazuki is my all-time favorite seiyuu and reading this interview of his from three years ago is like a pastime to me but now that i finally have the time to fully translate it â here it is!!!! i hope you reader may come to support him or continue to support him as much as i do!
I want to make you smile, that is my only message
I'll make sure to fulfill my selfish hope
I want to convey it to you in my own words, so look into my eyes
I want you to lift your head, so I can see that look on your face
Even if today does not live up to your expectations
I know there are things like that as days go by
Then, would you like to feel more freedom?
Waves will always come, that's right, my heart is a surfrider
What I need is a bursting smile that resembles the splashing waves
You can just blame it on me as you forget about all the unpleasant things
Riding on the waves of music, I want to fulfill my hope
If you're here, just let yourself be free, let your emotions flow freely
Because it's fine to feel like you were born again
I won't let you run away from reality for now
The tailwind towards tomorrow blows at you
Now, what kind of freedom would you like to feel?
Waves will always come, that's right, my heart is a surfrider
Come and dive in lightly because I will catch you
You can just blame it on me because I want you to laugh
And if I seem selfish, I hope you can forgive me
For the mean time, what should I even say
Since it might come off as "bad"
But, surely, it is better to have that moment of happiness within your heart
That's why I want you to continue smiling, that is my only message
I want to see that sparkling, bursting smile of yours
Waves will always come, that's right, my heart is a surfrider
Let's ride on the waves of music, you and I

Main Story: Diasomnia Book Chapter 6 Episode 7-88: Difficult Transport! (Translation)
Episode 7-88-1
â ïž Major Diasomnia spoilers! Proceed with caution.
Location: Land of Briar - Land near Castle
Grim: Funyaarh... Where's this place?
Sebek: This scenery... There is no doubt to it.
This is the place where we were swallowed by the âdarknessâ! We've returned!
Silver: Where are father and the others?
Sebek: He was supposed to be heading towards the dark forest...
Silver: !! Everyone, look at the ground. These are marks of iron shoes!
Father and the others are in danger. LET'S CHASE AFTER THEM QUICKLY!!
Iron Ones A: W-What is this power!
Iron Ones B: If the magicians had not kept the flames out, we would have been entirely roasted by now.....!
Knight of Dawn: Don't let your guard down! You'll be trampled on!
Mallenoa (Dragon): ROAARRRRâ!!!!
Iron Ones C: DON'T GIVE THE WITCH ANY TIME TO REST! GO, GOââ!!
Iron Ones: ARGHHHH!!!
Sebek: Ahh...... Mallenoa-sama!
Grim: Sebek, quit messinâ around!
If I remember correctly, we can't be too separated from the owner of the dream! Weâll lose Lilia if we don't do somethinâ!
Sebek: You don't have to tell me! But even though I know it's just a dreamâŠâŠ Damn it!
[Choice 1] Yuu: I know it's tough, but we have to go.
[Choice 2] Yuu: Even if we turn back here now, it won't change the past.
Silver: âŠâŠYeah. Let's hurry before the rain washes away their footprints!
Location: Land of Briar - Vicinity of Castle
Grim: Funyaargh~! The rain keeps on gettinâ heavier and heavier!
Sebek: The road is getting muddy and the sun is already settingâŠâŠ You guys better hurry up! We'll lose track of their footprints!
Grim: Stop sayinâ nonsense! I can't run any faster than this!
Sebek, can't ya use the magic you used when you were looking for Silver earlier?
It went BABABAT! While it was shining and moving real quick.
Sebek: Are you talking about âLiving Boltâ?
Silver: I also saw that magic for the first time. Since when did you learn your Unique Magic?
Sebek: When you entered Night Raven College, I was training all by myself in Briar ValleyâŠâŠ
I seized the opportunity to continue my great efforts to immediately respond to the Young Lord's needs, in case of an emergency.
However⊠It is still far from being âmasteredâ.
It is a magic that transforms oneâs body into lightning for movement and attack. ButâŠâŠ
Since I still lack the skill needed, it leaves my body a bit damaged for a little while once I use it.
It was fortunate enough that my opponent earlier was a half-asleep Silver, but if it was an enemy, they would not wait for the damage to heal.
Even if I used that magic now to catch up with Lilia-sama and the others, I would have become a burden.
Actually, I was never really planning to use it in public.
I never thought I would have to use it to wake up the sleepyhead, Silver, of all peopleâŠâŠ
Silver: That isâŠâŠ Iâm sorry. But, it's a Unique Magic thatâs just like you.
Sebek: Hm. (whispering) âŠIâm within a dream, but I guess itâs still fine to make a big deal out of itâŠâŠ JeezâŠâŠ
Silver: There is something I have been thinking about since we crossed Fatherâs dream.
Even if this is a dream shown to us through the magic of Malleus-samaâ
I wonder why there were so many painful things that happened.
[Choice 1] Yuu: Now that you mentioned itâŠ..
[Choice 2] Yuu: Itâs been a series of difficult eventsâŠâŠ
Silver: In the dream that Sebek had, Father and Malleus-sama were going to an off-campus training program togetherâŠâŠ
According to Malleus-samaâs words, the person themselves is happy.
We should be able to continue seeing convenient dreams.
If that was the case, Father would not have to fight with humans and Malleus-samaâs parents would have still been alive,
We should have been able to see the dream of Briar Valley continuing to survive as a great power.
Sebek: Mhm⊠You certainly have a point.
Silver: Malleus-sama said heâs monitoring our dreams and thatâŠâŠ Heâs governing over our dreamsâŠ
If he is aware of our presence, I wouldn't be surprised if he eliminates us right away, like what he did when we were in Sebekâs dream.
Sebek: HmâŠâŠ
This is merely a prediction, butâŠ
Perhaps Malleus-sama is unable to monitor Lilia-samaâs dream for some reason.
Silver: Itâs possible. I wish I could somehow get Father to wake up from his dream to ask for his helpâŠâŠ
*sounds of swords clashing*
Everyone: !!
Sebek: The sound of a sword fight!
Silver: It sounds close! Letâs hurry!
TO BE CONTINUED...
personal translator's note: not jp proofread as i hurriedly translated this to help those who do not understand jp. i'm not sure if i can translate the entire episode 7-88 but i will definitely translate up until the part of sebek's new ssr card.
Main Story: Diasomnia Book Chapter 4 (Translation)
7-63: State of Concern!
â ïž DIASOMNIA SPOILERS. PLEASE BEWARE!
Land of Briar - Campsite
Lilia: Baul, you ended up having another three servings of ârisottoâ.
Was it that good? Kufufu.
Baul: O-On second thought, there was no crime in the food.
Sebek: I'm glad it suits your taste!
Baul: Ahem! Even... so.Âč
Lilia: Ahh. Those Silver Owls have been frequenting this side of the Whistling Wind ValleyÂČ lately.
Baul: They ravage the Land of Briar as if it were their ownâŠ.. Those lowly thieves!
Lilia: Around 100 years ago, one small ship barely landed on a cape where the sunrise could be viewed from the top of a high mountain.
However, in a blink of an eye, those guys grew in number and outnumbered the fairies living in this country.
Now, the Whistling Wind Valley from the east is completely their home.
Baul: GrrrrâŠâŠ Those humans~~~~!!
If that was the case, we should have just driven them out!!
Lilia: I'm certain Her Majesty The Queen didn't think they would be this much of a handful back then.
Sebek, Silver: âŠâŠ
Lilia: If they had respected nature, animals, and lived modestly, I would have left them alone, howeverâŠâŠ
I can't stand that they continue digging up all over the mountains and forest.
We must hurry and deliver Mallenoa-sama's letter to the Eastern Fortress.
Grim: Mallenoa-sama? Who even is that?
Sebek: You bastardÂł, do you not know of Mallenoa-sama? She is the Young Lord'sâŠ.. Ah!
âŠâŠMallenoa-sama is the Princess of the Land of Briar.
Lilia: It's as the youngster says.
She is the only daughter of the current Queen Maleficia, our master and the Lord of the âWild Rose (Heidenröslein) CastleââŽ.
Silver: âWild Rose Castle?â The Royal Castle in the Dragon Capital, and not the âBlack Scale Castleââ”?
Lilia: A green field with a wetland spreading throughout the south side of the Land of Briar.
In the center of it all, a fortress glares at the scoundrels coming from beyond the Coral Sea and the Whistling ValleyâŠ
That is the âWild Rose Castleâ.
Baul: Mallenoa-sama, who commands the Royal Guards, is the keystone of this country's defense.
We, as the Royal Palace's guards, will be the delegation that delivers a written request to the âSilver Owlsâ from Mallenoa-sama.
Today, we had just left the Wild Rose Castle.
Sebek: When you say âwritten requestâ......
Baul: Isn't it obvious! It is an ultimatum to immediately stop the ill-mannered behavior of the âSilver Owlsâ in our country!
Lilia: HahâŠâŠ If I could fly by magic, I could easily reach their fortress.
Silver: Is there any reason you don't use flying?
Lilia: The delegations that carried the letter to the Eastern Fortress before us have been disappearing one after another.
Sebek, Silver: Eh!?
Lilia: Our job is to deliver the letter.
Next is to search for the missing ones on the way to the destination. AndâŠ
To find and destroy the âSilver Owlsâ who continue mining without the permission of the fairies.
Baul: GuhâŠâŠ Diplomacy is primarily the work of the aristocrats. Why must the General be forced to do so!
Lilia: Fairies are much fewer in number compared to humans. Ever since the âSilver Owlsâ showed up, there has constantly been a shortage in labor.
Moreover, the aristocrats were so unreliable that the mere scent of iron made them swoon.
Mallenoa-sama must have also had that in mind, and chose me instead.
Baul: That isâŠ
Lilia: From now on, we will pass through the Forest of the Night, travel along the green fields, and walk towards the Whistling Wind Valley.
After passing through the Whistling Wind Valley, we will search for the missing ones in the Red Field and at the slope of the Dragon Mountain while aiming for the fortress of the âSilver Owlsâ at the eastern continent.
Silver: âŠâŠIt's going to be a long trip.
Lilia: Kufufu. Are you frightened?
Hey, messengers of Night Raven College. Does it look like I still have spare time to attend school?
Sebek, Silver, Grim: âŠâŠ
Lilia: Even if you break your bones to follow us, you will only be taking a risk and there is not much good left for all of you.
I won't say anything bad, so go back to your school.
Silver: âŠâŠNo! Now that I have heard you talk like thisâ!
My desire to have Vanrouge-dono enter Night Raven College has grown even stronger.
Lilia: Ha?
Silver: Indeed, there is not much âmagicâ we can teach you. HoweverâŠâŠ
I am certain that school life will become an irreplaceable memory for you.
Sebek: SilverâŠâŠ
Silver: That's why, the moment we finish this mission, I will invite you once againâ
To our alma mater, Night Raven College!
Lilia: I still won't change my mind once this mission is overâŠ
âŠEven so, do you still intend to stick with us?
Silver: Yes!
Lilia: Even if your life is in danger?
Silver: YES!!
Lilia: âŠâŠ
I don't know much about humansâŠâŠ Could it be that Night Raven College is filled with fairly weird guys among the humans?
Silver: Certainly, there are many of them who are fairly unique.
Sebek: The origins, race, and even culture⊠It's diverse.
Silver: That is why we learn so much every day.
Lilia: Ha⊠Have it your way. I don't know anymore.
Silver, Sebek: THANK YOU!!
translation notes:
Âč - I just want to note that Baul said ăăăă«ăăŠăâŠâŠă§ăăă ă§ă is a Japanese copula (grammatically links subjects and predicates), and is commonly for politeness. The way I formatted the text was the only way I could think of on how to express what he said. Tldr: Baul is still trying to be polite even if he's being teased so bad rn
ÂČ - ă鹚鳎ăæžè°·ă Whistling Wind Valley; it contains the kanji for wind éąš and the kanji 鳎ă, which is commonly used as âto sing (bird). I decided to literally translate as to not drastically change the original text.
Âł - ăèČŽæ§ă Sebek usually uses this (as well as Baul and, sometimes, General Lilia) i just wanted to make a note of it lol. Kisama is a derogatory way to address someone, and the closest translation for it is âYou bastardâ.
⎠- ăéă°ăćă I believe éă°ă (translation: Wild Rose) is also a reference to Heidenröslein, a poem written by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe about a young man plucking a rose despite the rose's warning not to or else she will stick to him with her thorn forever.
â” - ăé»é±ćă (ăăăăăă) Black Scale Castle; it contains the kanji for black é» and the kanji for scale é± (of fish, snake, etc. but in this context it's probably dragon scales). Again, I decide to literally translate it as to not drastically change the original text.
personal note: i decided to translate ONLY this chapter because it contained important locations to know for the world building lore. i won't fully translate the entire chapter 4 because of its length.
ă4gameră Ensemble Stars!! In the 16th episode of ăCAFE CINNAMON Niki's Kitchenă, Crazy:B head to âHoney Workshopâ (Post-recording Interview Portion ONLY)
translation by: phantombanquet
Post-recording Interview
Youhei Azakami as Rinne Amagi
Tomohiro Yamaguchi as Niki Shiina
Jun Kasama as HiMERU
Tasuku Kaito as Kohaku Oukawa
4gamer: Thank you for your hard work during the long day location shooting today!
Everyone: Thank you for your hard work!
4gamer: It's almost time for the location bus to leave, so I'll try not to make this interview too long.
Tomohiro Yamaguchi (hereafter referred to as Yamaguchi): We don't necessarily have to finish it!? (Laughs)
4gamer: Thank you! Then, could you give us a few words about today's event?
Yamaguchi: Well, I'm tired (Laughs). But the reason I say âtiredâ is because the four of us (from Crazy:B) have tons of fun when we're all together, and we've also been talking sooo much since this morning. We're all close friends, so we enjoyed talking to each other during the shooting. I feel that the script was even less relevant than before, or rather, it was because I was able to shoot on a location with the people I trust, so it was a lot of fun, and made me feel pleasantly exhausted.
Youhei Azakami (hereafter referred to as Azakami): When all four of us gather together, I just get spoiled by everyone, and I really love these members who accept that (part of me). Also, today's shooting location made me think: âBees are really cuteâ. And to think that every single one of these bees is making honey like that, it made me realize how precious they are. Today was a day that made me love bees, honey, and Crazy:B even more. Thank you so much!
4gamer: By the way, Azakami-san, what is the name of the dish you made today.....?
Azakami: We~ll..... Earth. Cycle. And...
Yamaguchi: Wasn't âEarthâ the last? The first is âLifeâ.
Azakami: Life. Cycle. Earth......Brilliance.
Jun Kasama (hereafter referred to as Kasama): I have a feeling that's not it.....?
Yamaguchi: Anything is fine! (Laughs)
4gamer: I understand. Then, Kasama-san, please give us your comments as well.
Kasama: Alright. So, the last would be Tasuku Kaito-kun.
Azakami/Yamaguchi: Summarize it properly, okay?
Tasuku Kaito (hereafter referred to as Kaito): Yeahhhh.... (Laughs)
Kasama: As Tomo-kun (Tomohiro Yamaguchi) mentioned earlier, I was happy that us four Crazy:B members could have fun yet still make interesting entertainment, without having to say âI have to say this,â or âI have to do this,â for something. I felt that there was an atmosphere that could only be created by these four members, and I really felt that I could rely on them.
I also went to see the beehive again, but without protective clothing this time, after the recording was over. I'm sure everyone else has noticed, but bees have a similar lifestyle to humans; they work hard around noon, but when the evening hits, I feel like they all go: âThank you for your hard work today...â
4gamer: So it's something like that!
Kasama: In this way, I felt that we humans, who are also living beings, should be thankful for the graces we receive that are like in the form of honey. It was a location that gave me new feelings towards bees and honey, and also made me feel the fun of Crazy:B, which uses them (bees and honey) as their motif.
Yamaguchi: That was a good comment.....
Azakami: And then?
Kasama: And then...?
Kaito: I'm under a lot of pressure for the next comment (Laughs). (Being asked by the members: âSo, how was it?â, âWhat did you think about today?â) Why am I being pestered so much today!
Everyone: (Laughs)
Kaito: But, all I can say is: âIt was really funâ. It was a location shooting that made me feel once again the dependability and reassuring nature of the other three, and also the greatness in each and one of us. It's not often for all four of us to gather together like this, but I think it was a valuable day for us to be able to experience various things with bees, which are the motif is this unit, at a bee farm. Seeing the bees made me feel even closer to life.
Unlike when coming alone, I was able to enjoy the experience together with these older brothers, and I think I also was able to find new discoveries. I hope to engrave this experience in my mind, and have fun while making this unit even more exciting.
Yamaguchi: I'm the only one who didn't talk about âlifeâ.....
Azakami: Are you saying you don't care about it that much?
Yamaguchi: I'm just living on the edge! (Laughs)
4gamer: This year, there will be a cast live performance (ăEnsemble Stars!! Cast Live Starry Symphony -the first light-ă to be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, and Sunday, October 1, 2023), so maybe there will be more opportunities for you four to get together again.
Kasama: Certainly.
Azakami: This was a very good early opportunity for the future!
Yamaguchi: Teamwork, and also bonding with the bees... (Laughs)
Azakami: Just being together (with you guys) for one day already makes me super duper tired.
Kasama: You (are the boke)!
Azakami: You're tired of being the tsukkomi, aren't you? (translator's note at the end)
Kasama: No, of course, I mean it in a good way? (Laughs)
Yamaguchi: But the good thing about Crazy:B is that when you say something silly, someone will make a comeback. Rather than sharing roles with everyone, it's more âCrazy:B-styleâ that we all enjoy ourselves on the spot, but it also makes me feel tired.... (Laughs) But that makes it twice as fun!
4gamer: By the way, is this the first time that the four of you have been together for such a long time?
Kaito: No, maybe not?
Azakami: If there's a performance (live concert, event, etc.), we're all together the whole day.
Yamaguchi: That's why it really doesn't feel like âit's been a long timeâ since whenever we meet, we immediately feel at ease with each other, we chat, and afterwards, we go home, and then we see each other again..... It goes something like that. I think that we, Crazy:B, have the kind of feeling like friends who feel at home/comfortable whenever we see each other.
4gamer: Indeed, and I think that the viewers could strongly feel this in this recording. Well then, that concludes our interview for today.....
Yamaguchi: Eh, are we finished already? I haven't talked about âlifeâ yet...
Everyone: (Laughs)
4gamer: I look forward to your future activities! Thank you for today!

translation note:
â» Boke and Tsukkomi are the roles in a Manzai, which is the traditional style of Japanese comedy (basically similar to stand-up comedy); Boke is the funny man while Tsukkomi is the straight/serious man. Here, Azakami was referencing how Kasama usually takes up the Tsukkomi role, and how they switched roles for today (Azakami usually does the Boke role).
(You may have heard/read this from mostly Trickstar stories since they reference it a lot, but several other Enstars [and any media in general] characters like to reference this!)
Master Chef SR Idia Edition âApprentice Chefâ / Personal Card Story Part 2
~Let's make stuffed peppers 2~
Kitchen
Chef Ghost: After lightly sprinkling the insides of the bell peppers with cake flour, stuff it with the seeds that you mixed earlier.
You can use other flours as a substitute, but..... It will affect the finished product, so basically just follow the recipe.
Idia: Ah, it's the same principle as with using an interchangeable part that works fine, but the genuine parts are still the best. I completely understand.
Chef Ghost: Interchangeable...? Genuine part.....? Fufu, this time, this is an expression I don't understand at all.
Well then, pick up the seeds with your hands. Fill them precisely and generously inside the bell peppers, so there aren't any gaps.
Idia: Hiiihh....!! The minced meat's chilly, slimy feeling clings to my fingerssssssssss.....!
Is t-this also a pattern that can't be measured? I have to adjust the amount of seeds according to the inner diameter of the bell pepper.....
Is there no other way to calculate the proper number of grams other than collecting data several times from the same work.....
Idia: ...Haah, it's all done.
Chef Ghost: Then, let's finish by baking. The key is to let the frying pain reach the right temperature before placing the stuffed peppers.
Don't forget to oil the pan before heating it. And the heat should be kept on medium.
Idia: .....What's the proper temperature, anyway? How am I supposed to know if the frying pan is at the right temperature?
Chef Ghost: Place your hand over the frying pan, and if you think it's warm enough, you're good to go.
Idia: There it is again, using my hands! The boundary between warm and hot varies so, so much from one person to another.....
And more items that need data to be collected are increasing one by one......
Chef Ghost: I'll make sure of it this time. Which one, which one... Hm, this is around the right temperature. Idia-kun, try hovering your hand over the pan.
Idia: It feels kinda hot and kinda warm...? C-Chef..... I want to measure the surface temp of the frying pan...
Chef Ghost: Hm~, there are tools like that, but we don't have them here in the kitchen.
Idia: There's nothing I can do about it. I guess I'll give up and start baking this time. Alright.
*CLICK* *SIZZLING*
Idia: HIGYAHHHHHH!?
The oil is splashing around...... Hiihhh! Don't come to me!!
Chef Ghost: IDIA-KUN, DON'T MOVE AWAY FROM THE FIRE!! PUT ALL THE REMAINING STUFFED MEAT ON THE FRYING PAN!
Idia: No, but I can't even get close to it because the oil is splashing all over the place!?
A guy needs to have some kind of protection... Like, at least a shield! I need some kind of shieldâ
HAAAH!!! That one over there is.....
A pot lid... NOT a pot lid!
It's one of the earlier tools that was used a while ago, but it's better than nothing! Let me hold it with one hand!
*SIZZLING*
Idia: Throwing the stuffed meat on the pan: Mission Success. I can finally take a breather from this.....
Chef Ghost: Turn it over or else it will burn! Here, hold the spatula!
Idia: HIIH, THERE'S NO TIME TO REST!!
Idia: Ha, hah... It's somehow finished.....
Chef Ghost: Good work. The judges should be here by now, so let's bring out the food.
CAFETERIA - Judging Venue
Cater: Ah, so it's Idia-kun who cooked the food. Cay-kun is the judge~âȘ
Idia: Hiih! An overwhelmingly sunny atmosphere...! I've been too unlucky today.....
Cater: A home-cooked meal by a classmate might be a fresh experience. I'm looking forward to eating stuffed bell peppers made by Idia-kun~!
Idia: That's pressuring me a lot, and the food hasn't even been served yet.....
That..... Ah... H-Here it is..... Go ahead.....
Cater: Thanks~ Wow! The visuals are looking good! It's colorful and its shape looks like a flower, so cute!
Can I take a quick pic before eating?
Idia: Hiiih..... G-G-Go ahead... D-Do, Do whatever you want.....
Cater: OK~!
*SNAP SNAP*
Idia: Is this a tactic of spreading my poor cooking on the internet? It's not even interesting or anything.....
Cater: .....Picture taking, finished! Now then, I'll go take a bite!
*MUNCH MUNCH*
Cater: .....Mhm, it's delicious!
Idia: Eh!? I... I can't even deny that it's overcooked and burnt in some places.....?
Cater: There are definitely parts that are black. But, hey, it's better than raw âȘ
Idia: (whispering) Are theseâŠ.. The concerns of a sunshine charac? Or is it just that Cater-shi's taste buds have a wide strike zone.....?
Chef Ghost: You did well, Idia-kun. It looks like you got a passing grade so far.
Idia: Hahhh~~~~ .....For now, I'm glad...
I feel bitter that I can't say, âI passed, the program is over!â or something like that, but.....
I'll just use the rest of the remaining time thinking about a hypothetical design for the âIdia Shroud-style cooking machineâ.

Chef Ghost: Well, I'll ask you to make stuffed peppers immediately, but... Idia-kun, have you ever cooked before?
Idia: Eh... I...... I... (whispering) I haven't..
Chef Ghost: Oho, are you nervous? This program contains stuff for beginners like you. No need to have your guard up!
Idia: Th-this is my default.....
(whispering) No, it's a bother to explain, so I'll just leave it as a misunderstanding.
Chef Ghost: Idia-kun? Would it be fine to continue on like this?
Idia: .....Yeah.
Chef Ghost: First, let's prep the bell peppers. Cut off the ends, then using your fingers, remove the seeds and the white part.
It's really sticky and difficult to remove, but if you leave it there, it will taste bad. Make sure you remove them properly.
Idia: Slicing a round bell pepper on a flat cutting board... Ughhh, it's not steady.
It isn't funny that I might get an injury because of a class I don't care about. I have to hold it tightly... And, carefully.... Carefully...
TAP!
Idia: Phew... That was nerve-wracking. So, next is removing the insides using my fingers... Ughh, I really don't like this soggy feeling...
Chef Ghost: Be gentle and careful to not damage the bell pepper. But, there's still a lot of work to do, so don't spend too long on it
Idia: Wh-which one.....!? Do I be careful or quick!? These seeds sticking to my hands... is the worst..
Chef Ghost: After removing the seeds, slice the bell peppers into 2 cm wide, round slices.
Make sure the pieces are cut evenly so that the thicknesses are not inconsistent.
Idia: If you're going to keep on pushing me like that, shouldn't you consider using a method that doesn't involve a kitchen knife!?
Chef Ghost: You don't have to think too hard about this. It's just for reference.
Idia: Ah, so it's fine as long as it's within the default range? Then, you should've said so in the first place.
Chef Ghost: Next is to make the seeds that will be stuffed inside. And then, you put the ingredients in the bowl according to the amount written on the recipe.
Idia: The items that need to be measured are... 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs, 2 tablespoons of milk, eggs, salt, and powdered pepper... âA littleâ?
There it is... âA littleâ. That unreproducible instruction that was left by the creator based on their knowledge and preferences.
It's seriously confusing. For example, if I liked pepper, I would've probably changed my mind about âa littleâ seasoning???
Chef Ghost: That's right~ With this recipe, I'd say to use about three shakes of the small bottle. Lightly shake your wrist, then pa-pa-pa it around.
Idia: Onomatopoeic sounds!? Eh, but with the amount of force applied when you snap it with the wrist, the differences in physique, and more would cause tons of calculation errors.
Chef Ghost: I-I never thought I would be asked so many questions.
Idia: ...Haa, well, never mind. It would be a hassle to deal with this any longer, so I'll just shake it to whatever I like.
Chef Ghost: But still, you sure pay attention to even the smallest details. Are you getting a little more interested in cooking?
* Idia: No......? Eh, how did that happened...?
In.... In the first place, I really have no interest in food itself. In fact, I often forget to eat.....
Chef Ghost: Ehhh!? But your family will be worried!
Idia: Well.... What's done is done, yes.. My younger brother somehow packs way stronger stuff than those nutritional management apps.
When I decided to take this class, he told me: âI hope this would be a chance for you to get interested in cooking.â
Chef Ghost: You have a good younger brother, huh. So, how was the experience with this course?
Idia: I understood even more stuff again after actually working here. Cooking for myself is super inefficient.
It's already a lot of pain to just eat, but if you cook for yourself, you won't have enough time to do it, and nothing beats a completely nutritional diet.
Chef Ghost: M-Master Chef is backfiring!? But, you see, cooking appliances have evolved quite a lot these days!
There are even pots that automatically cook the food for you if you put the necessary ingredients and seasonings in it!
Idia: Eh..... With a convenient pot like that, wouldn't it be unnecessary to learn how to cook from scratch?
Chef Ghost: No, no, you would still have to do the work of cutting the ingredients and measuring the seasoning by yourself.
Idia: Why is that part still an analog!? You can do better with home appliances!
Chef Ghost: Really? I think it's pretty amazing.
Idia: If it's called âautomatic cookingâ, I'd like it to at least do the food prep and measurements of the seasoning.
Something like just putting the ingredients in the pot, covering it with a lid, waiting for a while, then serving it on a plate.
Chef Ghost: If such a pot really existed, we might lose our jobs.
Idia: If I were to hypothetically make an âIdia Shroud-style cooking machineâ..... I'll definitely quantify the âa littleâ term first.
And to do that, we would need to collect data based on the actual cooking process.
If I'm going to make it, I want to replicate a taste made by a pro.
Chef, I'm going to collect data for the production of the cooking machine, can I leave the actual work to you?
Chef Ghost: No, of course not! It's fine that you're motivated now, but make sure you finish it properly by yourself until the end!
TO BE CONTINUED...

Blue Lock - A long interview with Tasuku Kaito, who plays the role of Meguru Bachira!
Date Released: February 6, 2022

We bring you a long interview with Tasuku Kaito, who plays the role of Meguru Bachira! The interview is full of interesting topics such as his impression of the original work, the appeal of âBlue Lockâ and Meguru Bachira, and so on.
Please take a look.
âWhat are your impressions of the original work, and what are its highlights?â
Tasuku Kaito: It is a kind of work that draws you into the development of the story and keeps you turning the pages. I used to play soccer myself, so there were a lot of things I could relate to, like the necessary thinking needed in order to play soccer, and the play style of the players. I thought that it was an âegoisticâ youth sports manga, with each scene making my hands sweat from the plot twists.
After all, I think the point of interest is âegoâ. The appearing characters are aware of their own weapons, polish them, and aim for the goal with the will to not lose to anyone. The most appealing aspect of this work is the bare âegoâ that says: I'm going to do it, not someone else.
âKaito-san, do you have an 'ego' yourself?â
Tasuku Kaito: It's striving to finish what I've decided to do until the end. I think no one can beat me in regards to that, and I don't want to give that up. I don't want to compromise on anything because if I do, I won't continue to grow, so I think this is the part of my âegoâ that I don't want to lose to anyone else.
âCould you please tell us the charms of Meguru Bachira when you play as him?â
Tasuku Kaito: I think itâs charming that he goes ahead on his own. Itâs a bit difficult to push forward with your goal in a situation where someone is holding back. There were times where I found myself hesitating in certain situations, so I find Bachiraâs egocentric attitude charming.
Besides, Bachira doesn't think of difficulties as difficulties, but rather, he enjoys it. Usually, when a wall blocks my way, I think in a somewhat negative way like, âwhat should I do...â, but in Bachira's case, he treats difficulties as a positive thing, and it's amazing to think that he has that kind of instinct to figure out what he should do to climb over the wall in front of him.
âWhat do you keep in mind when you play as Bachira?â
Tasuku Kaito: This character has plenty of scenes where he is lively, but I have low energy, so I usually tell myself: âThis scene (involving Bachira) is set in a fun setting, so let's wind up the tension!â. I try to give importance in sympathizing with his feelings.
During the post-recording, Director (Tetsuaki) Watanabe-san and Sound Director (Fumiyuki) Goh-san gave me advices like, âBachira is a high school student, but has an innocent, childlish side, so it's best to not keep a strange appearance for him,â and âWhy don't you try acting as energetically and innocently as a young boy having fun?â, so I play as Bachira with these in mind.
âBachira has a lot of scenes involving Yoichi Isagi, but did you have any previous meetings with Kazuki Ura, who plays the role of Yoichi Isagi, before the recording?â
Tasuku Kaito: Personally, there are several famous seniors, who are like heavenly beings to me, that also appear in this cast, and I think we have to value a part of our feelings and passion for the characters we play, so that we won't be at a disadvantage. Since Isagi and Bachira often interact together, we both talked about how it would be nice if we could borrow the hearts of our seniors, put together our feelings into the drama, and give it our all while we grow alongside each other.
âAre there any characters that are similar to you, or any characters that you admire because they are completely different from you?â
Tasuku Kaito: I have a strong negative-like side myself, so, in a way, I think I am similar to (Aoshi) Tokimitsu. He also has a very negative attitude, so I could really relate to his worries and how his mind works, which he doesn't show. (Laughs)
I guess the character that I admire is (Shoei) Barou. I think itâs cool how he gives importance to his own pride, pushing forward on his own path and sticking to it until the end as a king, regardless of what anyone else says. As a man, I really admire the way he shows off his sheer strength. And as the story progresses, Barouâs overly helpful and a little bit of his mischievous side also comes out; I think the gap between that and his usual attitude is one of his charms.
âLastly, please give a few words to the fans for the release of the TV anime.â
Tasuku Kaito: The original work is intense, entertaining, and well-known. It is the kind of work that allows you to feel the growth of Isagi, Bachira, and every single character. While I perform as Bachira, I am also growing as I encounter challenges one at a time. I am recording the anime alongside the performances of my seniors, feeling every day that the anime will be as âegoisticâ and breathtaking as the original work. I hope you look forward to its release.
Thank you for today!
The âBlue Lockâ TV anime is scheduled to air in 2022.
