why is this me ffs
evangeline president of the 'don't let your husband prevent you from finding your one true love' club
the lover girl in me has died a bit
Cardan: We all have our demons.
Cardan, pointing at Jude: This one’s mine.
Cardan: kiss me, kiss me until I’m sick of it
Jude: 😧
Jacks: just for tonight pretend like you’re mine and tomorrow you can go back to pretending to hate me and I’ll pretend. Don’t care
Evangeline: 😦
The fact that both of these things came true in the end 🥹
the way when jude confronts locke in TWK and locke easily confuses her with taryn, but when jude pretends to be taryn in QoN, Cardan IMMEDIATELY recognises her
its pretty clear which one of them loves his wife more
Been wanting to add to this
I love the way Holly Black shows irony and bitterness in her writing. I really enjoy Taryn’s character in the novel. She’s outshined by her twin and older sister, each who, in their own way, embed themselves into the world they want to live in. But Taryn goes through the book no really belonging anywhere, and more importantly, not having her existence acknowledged by someone who is not family.
That’s why she turns to Locke hoping he would recognize her as Taryn not Jude. But Locke doesn’t do this. He mixes up the twins and doesn’t even care. However, Cardan does, but it’s not to Taryn’s advantage. Cardan sees through Jude’s disguise which implies that Cardan recognizes and acknowledges Taryn because she is not Jude.
The bitter part is that Taryn technically did find someone who recognizes her as Taryn but only because that person is looking for Jude. And that sweet bitter behaviour is truly fae-like.
Evangeline better have a pet dragon after she's married to Jacks. It's important to complete the picture of a happy family.

I’ve been thinking about how it would be if Tella and Scarlett found out about Jacks and Evangeline. I would love to see them in ACFTL. I think it would be a good opportunity for Jacks to get some closure and to see the characters one last time. I also would love to see Tella’s reaction to Jacks changing and Evangeline’s love for him. Especially since he has y’know… treated Tella the way he did. Can this book be out already?!
