hi y'all this issue was caused by the cappucicons script, i'm updating the codes rn but if you search/delete this line it should fix it!

note: deleting this line will fix the issue! i was only using cappuccicons in permalink pages for extra decoration on the notes, updated codes will have those icons replaced (tabler) - i’ll add a quick tutorial later for how to make this change yourself!

all codes have been updated for redownload! explanation below the cut to change the icons in the permalink page notes without redownloading:

in the code search "capp" and replace the font-family 'cappuccicons' with 'tabler-icons' - it should now look like this: font-family: 'tabler-icons';

replace the icon css content with your desired icon, example:

ol.notes li.note.original_post::after { content:'\eae8'; ...

for most of my themes, you'll need to replace the original poster, reply, like, and reblog icons, a few of my earlier themes also use cappuccicons in the show more notes button and explore popups.

you can find the icon css on the tabler icon website by clicking on the desired icon but below are the ones i use:

original poster icon: \eae8 (map-pin)

reply icon: \eaed (message-circle)

like icon: \eabe (heart)

reblog icon: \eb72 (repeat)

show more notes icons: \eb5d (caret-down)

explore link icons: \eb5f (caret-right)

colors will vary, but y'all are welcome to change these colors if you want!

popup/buttons fix | photosets not appearing

hi! my codes have been updated so if you're having issues with the popups/dropdowns on my themes you can either redownload the code or do this quick fix! directions under the cut

please note: while the codes have been updated, the theme previews may not display correctly, i'm in the process of redoing those too

in the code search for jquery/1.7.1 and find the line highlighted below:

add the following line above this:

replace the quotation marks, they should be straight and not curly

if this does not work (and the quotation marks are straight) delete the jquery 1.7.1 line in the screenshot above

example: in the image below, the straight quotes are underlined and the curly one is circled in red

photosets not appearing issue:

if your code does not have the jquery 1.7.1 line and older photoset images are not showing up add the jquery 1.7.1 line back

i don’t currently have a fix for both unfortunately as the issue seems to be with jquery/tumblr

I am a long time user of your themes and I must say I'm super proud to support a theme maker of color. your stuff is so, so cool and well made! that being said, it would be so cool if you made another music player theme with your current style! would you consider it?

i know it's been years since tumblr started pushing all the mobile-first stuff and javascript ban that resulted in the death of customisation, and i know it's only a part of the reason why theme making isn't as big as it once was, but it still makes me so sad to think about. i've been on tumblr since 2011 and i remember how active the theme/page coding community was for a whole decade or more, and how the majority of tumblr users truly enjoyed setting up their custom themes on desktop. even all these years later i still remember old theme makers i followed and i love going back to look at the themes that were so revolutionary 10 years ago, even though almost all of the people who made them left in 2020-2022. i'm still mad that tumblr chose the lazy route of (mostly) squashing such a creative ecosystem that was a major part of the platform's charm in favour of looking more like a typical social media feed. i miss seeing literal dozens of examples of experimental web design every day done by teenagers and college students as their hobby outside school!! i miss watching their skills evolve from simple two-column layouts to full-on interactive designs with fun scripts and pages to explore. i miss the personality you would see immediately upon visiting someone's blog - now like 80% of users i check out don't have a custom theme at all.

all that to say it gives me an even greater appreciation for the people who do still create themes despite less engagement than before, and especially despite tumblr always screwing over creators. when i made this blog in january of this year i immediately took on one of @phantomcodes's themes, and then recently changed it to their newest theme, and i always get giddy to see new things from them. same with @glenthemes - in fact i just recently made a playlist page using one of their codes that i had on a blog 10 YEARS AGO LOL. there are still several theme makers out there trying their best and i think all of you are the coolest. it almost feels like finding a relic, like, oh, this still exists! someone's still doing this and there are others who still enjoy it! and i'm so glad for that.

Hi, hope I'm not bothering you too much! I'm using the Adora theme and I noticed the music player isn't working. I've followed all of the instructions for the link but whenever I press play, nothing happens. It's not a big deal so no worries if the issue is something complicated, I just wanted to ask in case it was a simple fix or something I'm messing up! Thank you! (I don't have the player enabled right now, but if you'd like me to try it again so you can see what's happening, let me know.)

hii! im using your new willow theme (really beautiful theme btw) and idk if i've done something wrong but it seems like im unable to change the color for the post containers? thank u so much:) (also wanted to ask if there's a way to add shadows to the containers)

oops i forgot to add that since i'm not using that on my main my bad, the code has been updated but it's also an easy manual fix!

*there's not a built in way to add shadows to things but if you want to add it yourself you can (box-shadow)

in the code search 'article-wrap {' to find the section below, add background:var(--ColorPosts); as seen below:

if you want the questions in your answer posts to have a background still, search 'answer posts' to find the section below and change ColorPosts to ColorBackground as seen below:

A plugin for Tumblr themes that shows the original post’s date in {⁠Month⁠} {⁠DayOfMonthWithZero​}​{⁠D​a​y​O​f​M​o​n​t​h​S​u​f​f​i​x⁠}​,​ ​{⁠Y​e​a​r⁠} format by adding the poster’s username and post link as custom attributes to an element within a {⁠b​l​o​c​k​:​N​o​t​R​e​b​l​o​g⁠} or a {⁠b​l​o​c​k​:​R​e​b​l​o​g​g​e​d​F​r​o​m⁠} context; comes with options based on those in the Tumblr docs. Works for both original posts and additional reblogs!

Options:

langLocaleCode: the date output’s language/locale code

shortMonth: e.g. “Feb” or just “February”

dayWithZero: e.g. “09” or just “9”

dayWithSuffix: e.g. “21st” or just “21”

shortYear: e.g. “‘26” or just “2026”

[ optional ] .then() method if you want to handle the date further.
