Among New Territory || Hiro & Skye
Due to current conversation, Hiro had become vaguely aware that this man was someone who liked to tease others, but even so he couldnât help but take the bait. He pouted a little, though he tried to stay firm. âHow rude! I said apprentice, didnât I?â Clearing his throat, he made another attempt to speak. âNo, Iâm not a doctor yet.â
At the next statement, he couldnât help but light up with rosy shades. âWhat?! N-No, thatâs absolutely not the case. I would never even consider something like that with her! N-Not that itâs the business of a strangerâŠâ His reaction was entirely too similar to that of a younger brother who admired his older sister but didnât quite want to admit it.
Hiro looked over to the house curiously, wondering why it needed to be such a secretâ He wouldnât ask, of course. That would be rude. But it didnât matter much to him, anyway; the foreign countryside quickly caught his attention. âItâs very pretty,â he commented quietly, speaking to nothing in particular, but looking as though he were a bit reminiscent.
"Ahâ!" Before Skye could turn away, Hiro stepped towards him, looking a little nervous. "Iâm very appreciative that you helped me get this far, butâ Er, that isâ Since Iâm clearly not the best with directions, would you mind showing me around for just a little while longer?" He looked up at the taller man with large, pleading eyes, feeling a little ashamed for having to ask for so much assistance but knowing that he wouldnât get very far otherwise.
Giving in to Hiro's boyish charm, Skye agreed to continue to help him find his ingredients. He didn't really have anything better to do anyway. "You just can't get enough of me, can you?" He giggled with a wink.
Skye looked around for a moment before deciding where the best spot was. "I suppose the spring by the waterfall is the best place to go, there's usually a few flowers and such there." He made his way up the familiar path to the spring. This was where he ended up every night at the end of his long walks. It was really beautiful, the fireflies were out, the spring was reflecting the light of the moon, and there were many flowers and plants growing.
Skye leaned down and plucked a Toy Flower from the ground. He wasn't very fond of flowers due to the little black bugs that he sometimes saw crawling inside of them, but despite the bugs he did think they were lovely. "I hope you weren't looking for anything too specific. I mean, there seems to be a variety of plants here, but nothing too special. I don't know much about plants though, I must admit."
A Night at the Bar || Julius & Skye
It was a quiet night at the bar. Despite the sound of some Blues playing from an old radio, the only other sound that could be heard was the sliding and clanking of glasses. Skye sat hunched over in his usual spot in the bar, swirling his fourth shot of vodka around in the glass. He was having an off week, starting to feel lonely. A kind of lonely that couldn't be fixed by a quick fling, it was more of a hopeless loneliness, he felt as if he really needed someone. A friend, a lover, anyone who wouldn't be just temporary.
He threw back the rest of his drink, swallowing hard. The burning sensation of alcohol running down his throat was a feeling he never seemed to be able to get used to, no matter how much he drank. He pushed the glass out ahead of him. "More, please." The bartender poured him up another shot.
As Skye picked up his glass, about to down his next shot of vodka, the door opened with a chime, distracting him from his drink. A very well dressed, interesting looking man walked in. Skye was impressed, and a little jealous. He thought he was the only man around with a sense of style, though that obviously wasn't the case.
Among New Territory || Hiro & Skye
"Really?" He perked up, glad to finally be getting somewhere. "Thatâs wonderful news!" Wrinkling his nose, he gave a little smile. "No, Iâm afraid I donât like mushrooms very much at all."
"SkyeâŠ" The name seemed veryâŠÂ foreign on his tongue. He blinked, getting used to it, before resuming his smile. âYes, itâs a pleasure. Thank you for helping me. Ahââ
Obediently following behind, he continued speaking. âIâm a doctorâs apprentice. My boss is currently teaching me things about traditional medicine, since most of what I know is only modern. I must admit, sheâs very intelligentâŠâ A gentle smile spread across his lips, followed by a warm twinkle shining in his dark eyes. âIâve never learned so much in my life. As it turns out, plants are incredibly interesting.â
"A doctor's apprentice? So that means you aren't a real doctor, are you?" He glanced back at Hiro, wondering if he'd get a reaction. Skye loved making people embarrassed and frustrated. He always aimed to make people blush, he thought it was cute. He seemed to have already succeeded a few times with Hiro. "Very intelligent, is she? Does someone have a little crush on their boss? How sweet."
Skye walked down a path, passing his home. It was at the top of the hill over looking Forget-Me-Not Valley, concealed by a few trees. It was important that his home wasn't exactly in town or in plain view. Being a criminal, he had to keep his location secret to some extent. "Right there is where I live, if you'd like to visit sometime." Skye winked. "Don't tell anyone though, our little secret mm'kay?"
Skye walked down the the steep hill into the small town. "Well, here we are. There's a lot of flowers over on the other side of the waterfall, and other wild things growing around the farmlands. They're supposed to be edible but they taste awful." He cringed at the thought. He turned to face Hiro and shrugged. "Well, that's about as much help as I can give you. I might as well head home now, unless there's anything else you need a hand with."
Strumming Strings || Celia & Skye
Following closely to his side, she breathed in some of the misty air radiating from the active waterfall. Celia frequently visited this part of the valley, admiring the Goddess pond surrounded by flowers depending on the season. Upon hearing his theory, she halted in her tracks and offered a rather disgusted look. âHow perverted! What kind of person throws the idea of being a sexual predator out there?â Rolling her eyes, she didnât notice the sly wink sent her way. âI like to think I can trust the people here⊠Iâm not so sure right now.â
Skye faced Celia, giving her an amused look. "Don't worry, calm down, I was only messing with you. You're quite easy to tease, it's pretty funny. And cute." He stepped a bit closer to her, though not enough to invade her personal space. He felt a bit bad, he didn't want to upset the sweet young girl too much. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound perverted." He said with a sincere look in his eyes. "You can still trust the people here. Me on the other hand, you'll have to figure out if I'm trustworthy for yourself."
Skye turned and walked closer to the waterfall. He sat on the ground amongst the toy flowers, enjoying the sounds of the waterfall and the nearby cicadas. It was very relaxing for Skye. He looked back at Celia and gave her a smile. "Come have a seat, it's a lovely spot to just sit and relax." He said as he patted the ground next to him.
Truth or Dare Thursday! If Truth, you must tell us one person you're fond of and why. If dare, I dare you to go out and make a new friend! (Someone you've never talked to before will do; just say hi!)
Truth. Hmm.. One person I'm fond of? Well, I've met a few new people lately. One person in particular does come to mind, I must admit. Mark... I guess you could say I'm fond of him, I mean, just a little bit. He's very kind and gentle, even to strangers. And he has very loving eyes. Um.. I mean, he just seems to be a decent person, I guess.
Among New Territory || Hiro & Skye
"Ahâ" Hiro physically drooped a little at hearing this. The help had been offered. Where were his manners? âI-Iâm sorryâ I would very much appreciate some help. Iâm sure I can repay you somehow once we arrive.â
Though, as soon as the comment about him being a little boy was reiterated, he frowned. âIâm looking for a variety of flowers andââ he grimaced a little, ââMushrooms. Theyâre for my studies. Ahâ I havenât introduced myselfâ Iâm Hiro,â he added as an afterthought, bowing slightly.
Skye giggled at how easy it was to tease the small man. "Oh, well there's plenty of flowers and mushrooms in Forget-Me-Not." He watched him grimace as he told him his last needed ingredient. "What, you don't like mushrooms? They're pretty tasty when they're added to a curry dish." Skye smiled as Hiro bowed slightly. "I'm Skye, it's nice to meet you Hiro."
Skye turned around and began walking, gesturing at Hiro to follow. "So, what exactly are you studying?"Â
Among New Territory || Hiro & Skye
Blinking up at the stranger, Hiro couldnât help but furrow his brow a little. âI am well-aware that my appearances are deceiving, but I assure you that I am a grown man,â he defended himself as politely as possible, still managing to offer a small smile. This was something he was used to hearing frequently, and though it was tiring, he always took it in stride. It couldnât be helped, after all.
"Take advantage ofâ?" He cut himself short, a pale peach color dusting over the bridge of his nose. Frowning, he cleared his throat. "N-No, not at allâ Iâm not looking for troubleâ Iâm trying to find the nearest town. My boss sent me to fetch some ingredients that are scarce where we live," he explained. A brief look of worry crossed his face. "Iâm not quite sure how I managed to get myself into a situation like this."
"Well now, what makes you assume that I'm looking for trouble? I just offered you some help." Skye gave a fake pout, trying to make himself seem innocent. "Well I'll help you out anyway, just because I'm so generous. I can lead you to the nearest town, I know my way around." He said with confidence. He looked down at the man and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Plus, you need someone to protect you. Like I said, little boys like you shouldn't be out all alone. It's dangerous." He smirked, completely ignoring what the stranger said before about being a grown man. It was just too easy, he simply had to tease him.
"So, what kind of ingredients are you looking for? Forget-Me-Not Valley is probably the closest place, but there aren't many shops or anything there. They have a lot of wildlife and plants though, if that's what you were interested in finding."
Among New Territory || Hiro & Skye
It was hard enough for him to be able to properly read a map with so many new places scribbled all over it, but it didnât help that Hiro wasnât the best with directions. âOhâ This way, perhapsâ?â Heâd managed to stumble into the wilderness somehow, and this time, it wasnât for the sake of collecting weeds.
With a quiet huff, he tried to hush the wondering in his mind. He was sure that heâd get chewed out for being late on his way back⊠Ah, but it couldnât be helped at this point.
Perking up at the sound of rustling leaves, he turned sharply and looked around, delicate hands nervously grasping the paper in his hands. âHello?â
Skye walked amongst the trees in the wilderness. Not unlike Skye, he was out for a walk like always. It was a great way for him to stay in shape, considering he never did much other exercise. He enjoyed his solitude, but it was always interesting when he encountered new people.
Passing by many lovely plants and flowers, Skye saw someone in the distance. Skye approached the stranger when he turned around quickly and looked at him. "Hello there." He grinned. "What's a frail little boy like you doing out in the wilderness all alone? It's not safe, you know. Someone could easily come along and take advantage of you." He smirked and looked at the piece of paper in the boy's hands. "You seem lost. Is that a map? I guess you just aren't very good at following directions." He giggled, teasing the boy for his own personal enjoyment. "Need a hand?"
Traveling (Silver and Skye)
"Yeah." Silver said, nodding, "I am. Not necessarily half-monsterâŠI honestly donât really know what I am.."
Silver frowned for a bit, thinking, before sighing a bit and looking up at Skye just as he mentioned his fondness for cats. "Oh.." Silver mumbled, glancing away, "I-I see.."
"I hope I didn't insult you, I really didn't mean to if I did. I've just never met someone quite as interesting as you before." Skye said quickly. He noticed the cat-boy was talking very quietly and hoped it wasn't because he insulted him. "It's not a big deal if you don't know what you are. You have cat ears and a tail, which is something to be proud of. I mean, I wish I resembled a cat. That would be the life." He raised out a hand to shake with the stranger. "I'm Skye."
Southern Hospitality || Mark & Skye
"Heh. Suit yourself." He chuckled. Lucille had gone back to patrolling with Rosie. Mark gestured for him to follow, leading him towards the house. Mark hoped that he wasnât looking for an alcoholic drink, because all he had was that one bottle of whiskey his grandad sent him for his twenty-first birthday.
Hadnât touched it in years.
"So tell me Skye, what brings you to the Islands? I guessed what brought you tâthis one." He noticed one of the cats walking nearby and Mark knew that was the one that brought Skye here.
"Well, I always travel around. I'm a bit of a free spirit." He giggled. "I saw your cat pretty far from here and just followed it. I really like watching cats. They're so mysterious and interesting and... Well they're just really cute." Skye said, smiling at the thought. He hoped Mark didn't think his love for cats was odd. It was strange that Skye cared at all about what mark thought of him, he never usually cared about the opinions of other people or what they thought of him.
He followed Mark into his home. It was warm and very cozy. Skye took off his jacket and held it over his arm. "Thanks for inviting me in. Most people wouldn't invite a total stranger into their home like that."

Traveling (Silver and Skye)
Silverâs ears flicked. He shouldâve known. The natural first question that every single person he had every met (besides a unique few) was whether or not his tail/ears were real. He nodded, trying not to sigh from how predictable the question was.
"They are." Silver said, "Genuine cat ears."
He pushed back a lock of black hair to show that there were no human ears on the sides of his headâthe only ears he had were the black feline ones that sat nicely upon his head.
Skye gave the man a frightened look. "How is that possible? You're a- a cat? But you're a human?" He was terribly confused. He never met a half-monster before nor did he know they existed.
He shook his head and looked at the stranger again. "Sorry, I just... I mean I've just never met someone like you before. I mean, well... I love cats." Skye said, trying not to insult him. He didn't know what to do or say in this situation. It was true though, he did love cats.
Southern Hospitality || Mark & Skye
"Mâname is Mark. Mark Ever-Foss." He hopped the fence and turned to the man, "Yeah this is mâfarm. Been raisin it for a lil while now. And Iâm guessinâ that youâre visitin?"Â
He gave the silver haired man a smile, âYouâre welcome tâgo ahead and look around if you want. Iffin you need somethin to drink or eat you can stop by my place if you need. Itâs right over there.â
"Well, uh.. I think I've had enough looking around for one night. That whole incident kind of put me off. No big deal though of course." Skye said with a small smile. He always found larger animals frightening, so of course almost having his head kicked off by a donkey didn't help that fear.Â
The night was getting more cold and damp. There was a cool, misty gust of wind, forcing Skye to run his fingers through his hair to put it back in place. It wasn't the nicest summer night, and Skye hated being out in damp weather. He put too much effort into his appearance to have it ruined or risk catching a cold. The thought of being in a nice dry house sounded too good to turn down. "Actually, I wouldn't mind a drink. If it's no bother, I mean. I wouldn't want to impose." He looked up at the man and blushed slightly.
Strumming Strings || Celia & Skye
âItâs nice to meet you too, Skye. Oh myâŠâ She lifted the single hand untouched by her lower cheekbone, blushing immensely towards the precious feeling of his lips upon her skin. Had not any man in the world greeted her in this particular gesture⊠Thankfully, he spoke up before she could utter garbled speech in appreciation for his⊠letâs say compliment. Celia giggled harmoniously, composing herself in the meantime of his offer. â⊠I-I wouldnât mind walking with you. We arenât much of strangers now are weâŠÂ Skye?â Scooping up her guitar, she held it carefully underneath her armpit and stood adjacent to the sly man.
Skye lead the way, walking up towards the path that lead to the spring. It was one of Skyes favorite places to relax. He loved the large tree and the waterfall, and all the wild flowers that grew around the area. "Just because you know my name doesn't mean I'm no longer a stranger. I could be some sort of sexual predator for all you know." Skye looked over at Celia and gave her a smirk. "It's cute that you trust me, though." He winked.
Traveling (Silver and Skye)
The fresh winds blew onto Silverâs face as he smiled, facing the long winding road ahead of him. He was heading for a town he had visited a once or twice before.
As he walked, tail swishing slowly, he hadnât realized just how quiet and lonely it was. Sure, the serenity of the blowing leaves and grass was soothing, but Silver had expected at least one other traveler to bide some time with.
It seemed though, that that prayer was soon answered. Ahead of him was what seemed to be another traveler! Silver smiled and started to wave his arm.
"Hey!!"
Skye walked down a long dirt road lit up by street lights. His hair shimmered in the light of the moon. The town was quiet and deserted, just the way he liked it. It was much more peaceful this way.
His peaceful walk was interrupted by a stranger calling out from behind him, trying to get his attention. Skye turned around with a bitter look on his face. ".....May I help you?" He said, annoyed that someone disturbed what could have been a beautifully relaxing night. He gave the stranger a closer look and his face lightened up. He stared at the stranger curiously. There were two large flaps that sort of blended with his hair, almost like cat ears, but a human couldn't have cat ears. That'd be completely insane. "Um.. Are those.. your ears? I mean, are they real...?"Â
Strumming Strings || Celia & Skye
In spite of her insecurities arising, she offered an uncomfortable giggle in response to his remark. âNo! I was just getting a feel of how the strings felt on my fingertips. I⊠was planning on buying some teaching guides, butâŠâ Celia attempted to explain, pushing that she was not arrogant in simply learning a new art overnight. Trailing off into silence, the brunette officially ended her statement with a sulky shrug. 'What's the point?'
âTo be fairly honest, I donât think I am either. You know how to play piano? How impressive. â« I suppose I couldâve asked my neighbor for piano lessonsâŠâ Why had she not thought of Lumina, the pianist in the large manor? Oh well⊠anyhow, the brunette never really conceived the new stranger and his features. Admittedly, he was handsome⊠especially his eyes striking with the stealthy color of silver.
âLovely? OhâŠâ Gradually, a light amorous blush infiltrated her otherwise fair cheeks. âThank you⊠My name is Celia â I live and work on the farm across the bridge. Whatâs your name?â
"I'm Skye.. Nice to meet you, Celia. And what a beautiful name that is." He took her hand and kissed it gently. "Well, I'm a bit pressed for time." Skye looked over at the horizon, the sun was almost completely set. "I was going on a walk. I wouldn't mind having a beautiful young lady like you accompany me, actually. If you trust being alone with a stranger at night, that is." He giggled charmingly.
