That had worked spectacularly. Cleopatra was frozen for a moment, save for the frantic glancing between the other two pharaohs. If Nitocris had failed, naturally it fell on her, didn’t it? Whatever the case, she just wanted the woman to stop crying. Whatever it took.
“Woman, if you cease that noise, I’ll…” she frowned in thought, hoping she wasn’t going to falter like Nitocris before her. “I’ll do your hair. Or your nails. How about a makeover? Those are fun, yes?” Those were things that’d make her stop crying, at least. But would that be enough to make the woman stop?

In their attempts to get the wailing invader to cease with her tantrums, Ramesses doubled the loudness of his voice. He raised his arm in a flimsy fashion, releasing one of his younger sphinx to settle upon Raikou’s lap. That should at least quiet her thunder now, right?
“What more does this crying woman need? My temple isn’t your tantrum room. If you seek comfort, you will not find it here, but I permit this one kindness. I am purchasing your silence, woman. If you have no wish to stop your nonsense, someone else will pay the price.” And it’s up to Nitocris and Cleopatra now to guess who.

Ugh. Nitocris clutched her scepter in her hands, knowing before the pharaoh even raised his voice that he was even more annoyed. The only question would be which of the girls would be the one to bear the brunt of his annoyance. Perhaps it could all be avoided if the pharaoh’s generosity proved successful.
“That’s very generous of you, Ozymandias-sama!” Anything she could do to skirt herself into relatively good graces. “You should feel honored to be graced by such kindness! See, there’s no need for tears!”
