☙ “Yeah my great grandmother is…. eccentric.” Daiki nodded. The decor in his room was neutral. There were no posters or anything, no hero merchandise at all except maybe a very small Eraserhead keychain he had on his dresser. it had been gifted to him as he couldn’t bring himself to go into any of the stores that sold those kinds of things. Vito sat next to him, alert.

“That was my first time at an airport, it was fancy. She said she plans to fly me out there sometime but I’m not sure when that’ll be.” The woman was far too old to adopt him as she couldn’t care for him the way he needed. Although he understood he had quite a big distant family in Italy. “Wanna see something cool?” He turned to Vito. “Vito, stringere la mano. (shake hand).”

The saint bernard raised a paw, and Daiki shook it.

Izuku couldn’t help but tilt his head to the side as Daiki mentioned his grandmother being eccentric. That wasn’t a bad thing, was it? It sounded more like she just wanted to make sure her grandson got his dog with the best service she could get, showed how much she cares for him. Was really sweet if he was being honest.

“I’ve been to the airport a few times and each time I’ve gone I still I find it a bit overwhelming” He admitted with a small smile, thankfully the times he did go he wasn’t alone. Either Blue was with him or he was going with his classmates and or a guardian. “Maybe you could go once classes are either done for the year or when we have a bit of time off?” Which isn’t too often as they do have internships when they aren’t in classes for the most part.

Before he could say yes to Daiki’s question, his friend spoke to his dog in Italian and the next thing he knew the large dog gently placed his paw into his owners hand. 

“Oh...! Did you ask him for his paw in Italian?” His eyes were practically sparkling, made sense as the dog is from Italy and only knows commands Italian. 

“Um...! Um! Does he also know sign language too like Blue?” He glanced down at his own service dog who was looking up at him with their head on his lap. Izuku gave the dog a soft smile before rubbing their ear in his hand gently.

Izuku was practically vibrating in excitement to spend more time with Daiki and his newly acquired service dog. The St. Bernard had to be three times the size of his own service dog Blue, who is a wire fox terrier. Originally he wanted to ask Daiki to hang out in his room while they chatted, however... it would make his friend uncomfortable with all of the All Might merch he has all around the room. So he suggested they hang out in Daiki’s room instead, an excuse being Vito is still new and should focus on where Daiki spends a lot of his time

“I still cannot believe Vito was sent all by himself to you on a plane, in first class no less” Guess it made sense? From the bit he knows about Daiki’s grandmother, she would make sure to have nothing but the best for Daiki. Which would include the large service dog and making sure he arrived safety and comfortably.

As Blue approaches to give their greetings, Tooru smiles and kneels down to affectionately scratch under their chin and along their chest, cooing their own hello in return. While Suzu moves in to nuzzle the other dog in return, Tooru’s attention returns to Izuku.

“Didn’t sleep, huh? I know how that goes.” Nightmares aren’t uncommon for them, after all, most often featuring their mother. Those nightmares often keep them up, refusing to sleep for fear of seeing their mother haunting them once more. Of course, Tooru doesn’t even know if nightmares prevented Izuku from sleeping– for all they know, he might have just stayed up working too late in the night. They certainly wouldn’t put it past him. Still, they rise back to their feet and put their hands on their hip, head cocked to the side as if studying him. “But if you’re tired, why not go up to your room and get some sleep? If you want, I can make sure the others keep quiet, especially on your floor. I don’t think they’d mind keeping it down if it means you can get some rest.” And if some people DO somehow mind, then Tooru doesn’t mind teaching them a lesson in respect for their fellow classmates.

“Of course, you don’t have to. If staying up and having some company helps, then Suzu and I are happy to oblige~ But you’ll have to promise to try and get some rest tonight, okay? I can even make some tea tonight, if that’d help.”

For a moment he thought that Tooru knew he didn’t sleep well due to him having nightmares. But the feeling quickly passed just as fast as it arrived, no they wouldn’t only assume it was from only having nightmares. A possibility sure, but not the only reason he couldn’t sleep as he does tend to stay up far too late much to Blue’s dismay. 

“Sorry to hear you aren’t always able to sleep well either, but ah! I’m sure Suzu helps you get in some sleep instead of none at all. I know Blue does that for me and if it wasn’t for them I don’t think I would’ve slept a wink last night” Izuku admitted, glancing up at Tooru as he was still sitting on the couch. He couldn’t help but be curious if they also had frequent nightmares too and although he was curious he wasn’t about to pry and ask them. The last thing he wanted to do was be nosy and it might also be a sensitive typic for them, something he could relate too.

His hand moves to touch the right side of his head without thinking, gently touching the scars around his ear. A constant reminder of something that he wishes was only a nightmare he dreamt. Blue hops up placing their front legs onto Izuku’s lap, breaking him from his thoughts and ground him again before getting too lost into his head. Getting gentle nuzzles from Blue making him smile softly, moving his hand down from his head to pet his service dog. Rubbing Blue’s ear in his hand gently as it always helped calm him down at how soft it was.

“Eh...?” Izuku blinked, forgetting he was speaking to Tooru and quickly started to wave his hands in front of himself all flustered. “Oh! N-No I couldn’t possibly ask you to make sure everyone else stays quiet so I can get some rest, I-it’s alright but thank you for the offer!" 

“B-But um...” Slowly he moved his hands back down onto his lap, placing them gently onto Blue and starting to pet the dog once again. “I-I’d like some company if you aren’t busy-ah course you aren’t busy as you wouldn’t have offered in the first place” He started to ramble, mostly talking to himself than Tooru. “I promise to get some rest tonight and.... you’d make me some tea, really?” He paused, blinking up at Tooru in surprise. That was really sweet of them to offer and he couldn’t help but smile softly. “That.... that would be really nice thank you”

Off-harness, Suzu enjoys being to run about and socialize. Most especially with those that she knows love dogs in kind– and Izuku is an easy choice on that front, considering he has Blue just the same way that Tooru has her. So when Tooru is heading downstairs and Suzu runs on ahead of them, she stops at the sight of Izuku napping on the couch with Blue seemingly keeping watch. Even so, ever-vigilant Suzu seeks to make sure he’s alright, and so wanders over to nudge at his shoulder with her snout. Tooru then enters the room just in time to find licking at Izuku’s face, making them hurry over to the trio at the couch.

“Oh! Don’t worry about it, Izuku-kun!” Tooru laughs it off as they gently pull Suzu back away from the other’s personal space. “I imagine you needed the rest! I just hope Suzu here didn’t go and disturb you.” They doubt it, considering he doesn’t sound upset, and he hasn’t really ever seemed to mind Suzu in the first place. Besides, they are an equal concern, now even tilting their head at Izuku.

“Are you alright though? You haven’t gone and worn yourself out too badly, have you?”

Although Tooru said not to worry about it, Izuku was still going to worry about it regardless. His face was still a bit pink as he slowly sat up, Blue jumping onto the floor so he could sit up easier, along with saying hello to both Tooru and Suzu. Blue giving the pair both gentle headbutts soon followed by a lick or two as kisses.

“I-I guess I did need the rest? Though... to be honest I don’t remember falling asleep” He smiled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck still a bit embarrassed and turned his head in order to hear Tooru better since he couldn’t hear out of his right. “But um! Suzu didn’t disturb me at all, Blue would’ve let her know not to wake me if they thought I needed more rest” He leaned forward a bit to give Blue a few good scratches on their chest, it was one of their favourite spots.

Izuku suddenly felt a pang of guilt in his chest as both Tooru and Suzu now were worried about him. Though he couldn’t blame them as falling asleep in the middle of the day like this for him was quite unusual. “I-I’m alright, really! I promise I haven’t been running myself too thin, trust me Blue would stop me if I try” He chuckled softly, giving Blue another gentle scratch as the dog moved their paw onto his foot before leaning into him. 

“I unfortunately didn’t sleep very well last night and it might’ve caught up with me” More like the last couple of nights due to nightmares, but he didn’t want to worry Tooru more than they already were. If it wasn’t for Blue he would’ve had zero sleep instead of three or four hours.

Finally! The order came in the mail and Izuku was beyond excited, almost ripping the box open with his bare hands once getting to his shared room with his twin brother. Blue thankfully stopped him and he got a proper item to open the cardboard box with, he was practically vibrating with excitement. 

“It’s here, It’s finally here!” Quickly he took the contents inside out, it was two All Might onesies he got for the dogs. Carefully taking them out of the plastic packaging to make sure they were the correct sizes. “The dogs onesies are here, want to have them try them out?”

Something gently pressed against his shoulder, stirring him awake from an unexpected nap on the couch. Making Izuku let out a sleepy yawn as his eyes slowly opened, expecting to find Blue nudging him awake with their nose against his arm. But when he opened his eyes he found Blue laying on his chest instead, looking to be smiling at him as their tail started to wag.

Wait a second... Blue was on his chest? So who was the one at his side? He blinked confused for a moment before turning his head to find Suzu there staring at him intently. Until she wasn’t as she moved in to lick his face making him laugh.

“Oof...! Suzu h-hello” Izuku chuckled giving the pup a gentle fur ruffle and glanced up to find Tooru beside Suzu. Making him quickly get flustered to be found asleep like this. “T-Tooru! I-I um hello! Sorry it looks like I took an unexpected nap on the couch”

Shoto responds to that with a shrug; he isn’t going to push, especially when he’s presented with a clear refusal. Izuku knows himself best.

“All right,” he adds, just in case.

If it were up to him, Shoto could spend the entire walk back in silence, and he wouldn’t be bothered, but he isn’t sure if he can say the same about his friend. Izuku seems like a more talkative type… but then again, almost everyone in their class does compared to Shoto.

A quick look to his side and towards Izuku doesn’t provide him with any answers, so Shoto decides it’s better to break the silence. “How did you find it?” He asks, following it up with another question after a momentary pause: “Your secret spot, I mean?”

“Mmm!” Izuku nodded, with another smile as he gently squeezed Todoroki’s hand a bit with his own for a moment. Another way to hopefully let his friend know he was really okay and he didn’t need to worry so much about him, although it was still very appreciated.

He paused a moment at Todoroki’s question, how did he stumble upon it again?  It was definitely when he was walking, and or jogging around campus with Blue. Just he couldn’t quite remember if they both found it together and or if it had been his service dog. There was a time when Blue quickly lead him to a quiet area in order for him to compose himself after getting extremely overwhelmed. 

“Blue and I ended up finding it when we were walking around campus, though... I can’t remember if we both found it together or Blue lead me there.” Izuku wasn’t lying, just he didn’t want to worry his friend if he mentioned the reason for finding the secret spot was due to him having a panic and or anxiety attack.

Gently he tugged Todoroki though a small patch of brush once they arrived, leading him to a large tree surrounded by a patch of grass and a few flowers around the base. Although the sun was blazing overhead, it didn’t matter as there was plenty of shade underneath the tree due to it’s large leaves and many branches.

“Here it is!” Izuku grinned widely, glancing up at Todoroki to see his reaction. “This is my-um...! Our secret quiet spot.” He couldn’t help but flush a light pink after saying that.

They’d been chatting before a movie captured their attention, both seated at various places on the couch. Despite finding the movie rather interesting, Aoiro quirked a smile as her companion fell asleep. It wasn’t long before he captured her attention once again, this time thrashing with a fearful expression. Whatever words he mumbled fell on deaf ears as she muted the television.

“Sorry?” she repeated, confused. “You don’t have to apologize. I’ve had my fair share of nightmares.” In her experience, she’d choose to take a late night walk or just sit in the darkness of her room, alone. Not wanting to make him squirm under her concerned gaze, Aoiro turned her attention back to the movie.

“Did you want to talk about it? If not, I understand. Otherwise, we could take a walk to get your mind off it?” 

Izuku smiled faintly, not daring to tell his friend that this wasn’t just a one off nightmare. Least one he’d forget after a few hours or perhaps a day or two, depending how much it had scared him. This... this was based off of real events, an event he will forever bare scars from, physically and mentally.

“R-Right...” He nodded slightly, reaching a hand up to gently rub Blue’s ear as his service dog was currently laying on his chest. Giving him gentle kisses on his neck, being mindful of the scarring that came down from his ear.

“I do still f-feel bad for scaring you though.” He glanced at Aoiro again with an apologetic smile this time, gently patting Blue to signal them he wanted to get up. The pup slowly moved back so Izuku could sit up on the couch, still watching him intently. 

“Ah um...” He paused, glancing at Blue before looking back at his classmate. “H-How about we go for a walk? I-I mean for now if that’s okay?” Should he tell her anything at all? Or should he just... not be too specific on what the nightmare was about and be careful with his words?

Izuku watched his younger twin brother Zuku carefully as he was finishing up on a new invention that came to him.  At three in the morning... but at least he had managed to get his brother to bed around eleven the night before, meaning he got some sleep before waking up.

It was now around seven in the morning and Zuku was still tinkering away, claiming he was about finished when Izuku asked what he was doing. This was the second time he’s claimed to be almost finished, the first time was after Izuku had woken up to start his day. 

“I’ll give you another five to ten minutes before we both head out to get breakfast, you must be hungry after working most of the night.” Izuku had built up quite an appetite after doing his morning training routines with Blue, and even had time to have a shower before returning to their shared room.

Seeing Izuku’s face grow even more red only strengthens Shoto’s earlier conviction. Despite his belief being wrong, it still sounds and looks logical, and the lack of imagination Shoto’s now somewhat famous for doesn’t help him form any other conclusions either.

“Do you need me to make it colder?” He asks with genuine concern as he turns his head to give Izuku a closer look. “You kind of look like you do.”

Even if he did briefly think about something else first, worry for his classmate seems to take over the boy’s mind in an instant. If it came to that, Shoto could probably take care of his passed out friend, but he’d rather avoid that if he could. There’s simply no room in his mind for wondering how well Izuku’s hand fits his, or when was the last time he held somebody’s hand, even if there were some moments ago.

Todoroki’s hand was both warm to the touch and cool at the same time, making him squeeze it slightly without thinking. Holding his hand was really comforting, not just because he was getting cooled down by his ice quirk, but it just... fitting so well in his hand? He wasn’t quite sure how to describe this feeling at the moment as he’s never really experienced something like this before.

“Pardon?” Izuku blinked at Todoroki confused, taking a moment to register what he had asked him. “O-Oh! N-No it’s okay!” He waved his free hand in front of himself quickly, trying to let him know he was alright and didn’t need him to make it colder. Though he probably looked like he did as his face was still a bit red after getting flustered. 

“But thank you for the offer.” He nodded quickly, giving him a large smile in hopes to put his friends mind at ease as he clearly looked worried about him. “We’re also nearly there a-and I’d hate for you to use your quirk too much either.” Or was cooling himself and other’s down not that as much energy out of him?

What exactly happened? They had been talking in the common room, right? Watching something on the tv before.... before he fell asleep? 

Right. 

Now he remembers, he had fallen asleep beside her. Or rather remembers the nightmare that he had before waking up with a start, finding Aoiro looking down at him concerned. Speaking softly most likely not wanting to startle him further, Blue was laying on his chest nuzzling his neck gently.

Wait, was he laid down onto the couch not long after falling asleep? Or was he moved once he was showing distress from his dream?

“I-I-I um... um....” Izuku started to say, but his voice was a bit too shaky making him stop and smile slightly up at her. A bit embarrassed for possibly scaring her and worried he might’ve spoken a few words in his sleep.

“S-S-Sorry.” He stammered out after a few moments, wanting to let her know he was alright. “T-Thank you... thank you for, for being here. T-Though s-sorry I s-scared you? A-And um... Sorry”

"It's your birthday isn't it" not a question, really, not being much of a people person Shinsou wasn't even sure if he was supposed to get anything, so he just. Got him a capon, for a cat cafe. As well as some dog treats, of who he doesn't even know if Midoriya's dog would eat them.

"Mmm! It is!" Izuku grinned up at Shinsou, happy that his friend had remembered, not that he thought he'd forget! It was still really nice to have someone, especially a close friend wish you happy birthday.

He wasn't expecting a gift and was a bit surprised, but happily so, to get something from Shinsou. It was a coupon for a cat cafe he's never been too, though... he hasn't really gone into one before. Would the cats like Blue though?

"Thank you so much, Shinsou! Also you got one of Blue's favourite treats and.. and! U-um! Would... would you like to go to the cat cafe with me?" He blushed darkly, hiding his face a moment behind the coupons and dog treats for Blue.

Happy Birthday! Zuku signs at his brother, holding a huge card that said the same thing. He beamed, heading over and hugging his brother. Carefully, he places a gift bag into his arms - that contained an All Might hoodie, with Blue getting a matching collar. And a new belt for Izuku's hero costume that Zuku made himself!

Izuku grins widely at his brother, signing back while also speaking. "Happy birthday right back at you!" He took the card first, taking a look at it before accepting the gift bag and taking a peek inside.

"Oh wow...! Thank you so much, Zuku! This hoodie looks so cozy and Blue has another collar." Izuku bounced on his toes all excited, taking out the collar for Blue and showing it to them. Blue sniffed at it a moment before barking lowly and wagging their tail, his pup was starting to collect a wide arrangement of collars now.

"Also... wait, did you make me this new belt for my hero costume...?" He paused a moment, taking the belt out to get a better look at it. "You didn't need to make me this... but thank you so much. I'll put it to good use, thank you!" Although he was still grinning widely, his eyes still filled with tears and he gently tugged his younger twin into a hug.
