I'm beginning my PhD, and I feel... lost. I don't know how to find my topic, how to begin the work. How much time should I dedicate to courses? To literature? Should I try to create a prototype and experiment on it?!
Here is what you should NOT do.
If you're beginning a PhD, this is the first rule. Don't worry about problems smaller than a gnat's back.
