Hello and welcome to the phighting bean husbandry guide blog!

This blog is a guide & advice giving-focused blog dedicated to helping out all bean caretakers & lovers! From dietary needs, enclosures, behaviour, and individual questions, I'll help you out, and so can the rest of the community!

Now you may ask--what is a bean? The easiest way to describe it is a group species of small, bean-shaped creatures similar to the inphernals that inhabit the Inpherno! Every bean is a lovely little friend or companion to accompany you around the house, on adventures and journeys or in general life. Despite this relatively simple description, beans are actually quite complicated.

Beans overall are their own species, but are split into numerous sub-species. Those sub-species tend to have sub-sub-species, also with their own individual needs and requirements, and even past that every single bean is unique. While it's quite a lot to manage, every single bean is special and deserves just as much love and care as any other bean! This blog here can answer any questions you have about your beans, or a bean you're interested in housing, adopting, or buying, no matter what type of bean they are!

The blog workings aside, say hello to: Mod Frostbrand! I'm the owner of this blog, a bean enthusiast and owner, here to help out all fellow bean enthusiasts! You can use he/they/it pronouns for me + masc & neu terms.

I must note I am busy with many things in my own life, so my responses will not be instant! I'll do my best to reply to any and all questions about beans (and general interactions, of course) in a timely manner.

As well as answering any and all questions about beans, I'll reblog posts with beans as well!

I've been following the blog for some time, reread the anons far too often to be considered neurotypical (/j), and have just been wondering where you've been these past few months. (The last post made on here was on March 20th as I'm writing this) I know you've said you'll try and get the blog when Phighting comes back into your brain and fully understand the struggle, I wouldn't mind if we got an update on how you've been through all this time. Even how you're feeling right now would be enough, there is NO rush being made for you to respond or to write a comprehensible or long response to this. I just want to know you're doing okay in this world, in both the good and the bad. I hope this doesn't come off as demanding, but know I will wait for as long as it takes for our favorite bean blog to come back, with you're mental health in mind of course. NGL life has been trying to maul me ever so slightly! I graduated high school, I'm a legal adult now, I'm moving out tomorrow (well, today, considering it's 4am where I am), I've gotta go job hunting, and crk is still sorta taking over my mind...

All in all it's been. A little bit hectic. I'm still alive, just a bit tired and unsure of what to do and where to go next. Not fully well mentally-wise but I know I'll be okay, if I'm to be entirely honest

Thanks for the check-in regardless. Honestly it helps to know people still care about me even when I'm not active! Once I'm in a more stable situation & properly settled into a routine again, I'll see about picking this blog back up. Again, thanks for checking in! Uhh! Solid maybe I fear. Phighting is still very present in my mind but crk is overtaking kind of. Everything. Right now. Hyperfixations suck sometimes lmao. But should Phighting ever return to the very front of my mind you bet this blog'll be right back up! I just. Have no idea when that will happen! Very sorry for that,, I do wish I could control the way my brain works so I could actually keep this running forever but alas

I GOT GOLDEN CHEESE COOKIE ON MY SECOND EVER PULL AND THEN AWAKENED HER ON MY SEVENTH PULL and when my luck was still good i also pulled all of the ancients and most of the beasts.. and a couple of legendaries and super epics :’D

my sister must’ve stolen our luck because she pulled shadow milk TWICE in a SINGLE pull /silly

i used up all of my beginners luck on awakened golden cheese (and every other ancient/beast except shadow milk and eternal sugar).. sigh..

REAL... I used it all on getting Camellia in my first few pulls I think. And getting Awakened Golden Cheese like 4 times before I got normal Golden Cheese (who I had to get through might of the ancients,)

Hiii Redshift here,,, I apologize for the lack of posts. Uh. The cookies got to me. I've somehow obtained a massive cookie run kingdom fixation?? And its got a chokehold on me

Now. Don't be mistaken. I am NOT dropping this blog!! But the event I had planned will take a while longer, and, in short the blog is sorta on a mini hiatus until I can balance my fixations more successfully. I may randomly answer an ask or two if I'm phightingpilled but for the most part I'm probably gonna end up neglecting this blog just a bit

(If any of the followers of this blog also like crk I may be planning two fics for it on my ao3 teehee)

TLDR the cookies got me, this blog is on hiatus (NOT abandoned) until I can be a bit more normal. Redshift out!

Maddy and Banny owner here again, hello! Is it normal for Medkits to get skiddish during storms? We just had a big one here(Hail! We got hail of all things!), and Maddy ran off and hid under the covers of my bed! Do you think a special area for Maddy to chill out during storms would be a good idea? Also, do you have any tips for dealing with a bean being bitey? Banny's been getting a little bitey lately, and idk if it's because he's understimulated, playing, or some other issue. Also also, are there any beans that like to hide out in gardens? I swear I heard someone rustling around in mine, like, around the fruits 'n' stuff, but I wanted to get your input before I go investigate!

How scared beans get during storms depends on the individual beans, but most Medkits tend to be a bit offput by colder weather and the storms that come with it. A nice warm place to hide out would likely help quite a bit. As for Banny, a lot of it is redirection--try to direct his biting towards toys rather than fingers.

And for the garden: Vinestaffs are the ones most commonly found in gardens! Shurikens and Slingshots occasionally hang out there as well, but most of the time they're sticking around a Vinestaff who's already there.

Hello! I’m a being looking to get into bean husbandry, and while I’ve read this blog as a large resource, I think I am finally ready to get a bean. Due to my space and situation, I think I may want to go for a bean that would be better in a suburban area. Out of things I may want to consider as well is the potential of having a couple beans, but a bean that I can start out on their own and introduce a new bean to, so one with a decently friendly demeanor would be nice.

As such, I would like to ask what you’d recommend looking at for bean adoption (I have decided on an adoption route for ethics primarily, but also because I have good experience with adopting for past adoptions, particularly of my childhood cat Peppers. May his little silly face rest high above.) and what bean would suit the situation. I do have an entire area I could use for enrichment, it’s a spare office room, but generally could stay inside most areas of the house, of which is mid-sized and has a fenced in yard. Thank you for being a valuable resource.

You're certainly well prepared! I'd say a Sword could fit best for your situation. The suburban area and yard will give a Sword plenty of places to explore, and the future of more beans is rather good for Swords as they're rather friendly beans that still know how to handle themselves.

R decided to visit with her beans!

I witnessed the most adorable thing. Shuri was cuddling with Oliver, Gummy, and Vine. He was purring so much it was adorable. Especially with Gummy on top of Shuri.

Me and R also found out that Kiki is scared of vacuums. Do Valk beans just not like vacuums or something?

After R went home, Beepo started... singing, I think? It was hard to tell. Can astroboxs sing?

AWHH.. Adorable... as for the vacuums, it's likely a bean-specific thing, and for the singing--yes! It just doesn't sound the same as normal Boombox singing.

Small update, I think Scylla figured out what I'm trying to do. She keeps leading me to areas she thinks would be good hiding spots and bringing me bits of food. I'll admit, she's quite the clever gal.

Clever indeed! It's certainly good to have a little helper around.

Okay, so I'm setting up some traps and- OH MY SWORDS SCYLLA JUST TRICKED THE BEANHAMMER INTO RUNNING FACE FIRST INTO A TREE! I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING!!!

OH THAT'S GOLD! Scythes are always so clever when dealing with aggressive Bans, it's hilarious to watch!
