Orioles pitcher Dylan Bundy had a very short Tuesday night start against the Royals, but his outing was anything but merciful. Bundy marked himself with the dreaded infinity ERA by failing to record an out in the first inning as Kansas City smashed dong after dong, scoring seven runs on Bundy off homers from Jorge Soler, Mike Moustakas, Salvador Pérez, and Alex Gordon. All but the Gordon big fly sailed over 400 feet.

A minor plot point of ‘my life’ is trying to acquire socks with skulls on them fast enough to replace the ones that get holes ripped in them. I have a definite preference for patterned, stylized skulls (right) over graven image skulls (left), so here I am trading up.

A month ago I came upon a tie that had really nice patterned skulls on it, and it forced me to define some parameters with the skull thing. Skull socks are mostly transparent to the world, I wear them to give talks, to teach, and on job interviews. A skull tie is outward-facing. It’s something you’d wear if you’re into some kind of rockabilly fashion, and is therefore something I can’t have.
