Tips on How to Make The Most Of Your Day
Reality is, we need to start preparing for our day, the night before.
Tip 1) Drink a bottle of water within the hour before you go to bed.
Most people feel like this will only make you need to use the restroom in the middle of the night, however –even if that is the case, and it won’t always be so — drinking the bottle of water is key to ensuring you don’t get dehydrated over night.
More often than not, when you’re feeling tired, it’s from dehydration, not lack of sleep.
Tip 2) Stop heavily using electronics after 7 at night.
Your body naturally resets it’s internal clock and it makes it easier to wake up earlier the next morning, feeling refreshed and ready to go.
Think of the last time you went camping (if you have been). For most people, it seems absurdly easier to get up at the crack of dawn while out camping. Most people also use technology less while camping (mostly because there is no service, but still).
Tip 3) Find an alarm that wakes you up based on your REM cycle.
Especially if you use your phone as an alarm, having an app or a personalized alarm clock that tracks your sleep is a good idea, because it’ll wake you up when you’re already mostly awake. I personally use an app called Sleep Cycle. It keeps track of your movements while you sleep and then wakes you up within 30 minutes of the preferred time you need to get up. This type of tool helps you ensure that you wake up feeling rested. No one likes being woken up in the middle of a REM cycle.

Tip 4) Stretch first thing in the morning, while still in bed.
Lean forward and reach for your toes. Stretch your shoulders. Twist around a bit. Stretching helps release the tension in your body. The harder it feels to leave your bed, the more time you should spend stretching.
Tip 5) Drink more water right after getting up.
Again, feeling tired is mostly a battle against dehydration. If you drink water first thing in the morning, it helps maintain your overall energy level throughout the day and it helps kick-start your metabolism. Never underestimate the importance of water.
Tip 6) Think of today as a good day, regardless of how it starts.
Positiviety is key to getting through the day. If you think the day is going to be terrible, it most likely will be. Looking at future events from a negative mindset will cause you to look for the downside to everything. That’s no good way to lead a life. Look for the small things.

Shel Silverstein wanted to say something very wise. So he wrote a children’s book.
I couldn’t fully appreciate these as a kid. I’m so glad to see these. Shel Silverstein was so magnificent.

Did you know?
Millennials are getting the reputation as the Apathetic Generation: a generation of nihilistic observers.
Reality is, we're more desensitized to the chaos in the world today, not necessarily apathetic.
The nihilism in today's youth is more of a "Nothing seems to matter, so do what you want" and less of just "nothing matters or exists." This isn’t necessarily a good or bad thing, it's just what 'is.' Go forth into the world with an open mind.

Continue in life with grace and confidence. Yes, people can be mean, but you CAN move forward still. There should be no room for hate in life. View Post on Instagram
Optimism is finding the positives in any situation. It's not just a matter of can or cannot. It's a matter of "this may not seem like it ends well, but there's always time for improvement." If you're looking to adopt any particular philosophy, this one is a concept worth taking in.

The Importance of Photography
Photography tells stories that cannot always be put into words. It reveals the world's secrets and documents history unlike anything else.
A photograph needs to capture a mood, moment, or feeling. A photographer needs to be patient, open-minded, adventurous, and ready for anything. Regardless of these general rules in photography, everyone should take a part in it.
Pictures capture a moment in time that will never be seen again as it was. The world changes all the time. People change all the time. We’ve all wished to live in a single moment infinitely, and pictures allow us to do so.
Years later when it’s all changed and changed and changed again, the images remain. They outline the details about not just our history, but the Earth’s history as well. Every detail tells a story about what once was. Every contrast in light, every shape, every line is a voice sharing the past’s secrets.
Take pictures: capture your birthdays, your friend’s smile when they’re distracted, your pet when they’re happy, your good days, your not-so-good days, your wedding day, your child’s first days of school…
Embed the precious moments in life into stone and keep them.

Google Tools All Businesses Should Know About
Google itself is a pretty big place -- everyone is online and many businesses try to be the first thing that pops up on the screen when a potential customer is looking for similar services. Google has numerous tools that can help not only expand your online presence, but also help you better understand what your customers might want.
Tools for Web Developers
The Tools for Web Developers site isn't a how-to guide on building the perfect website, but it definitely gives great guidelines on how to build a Google-friendly website. The tools include:
Chrome Dev Tools
Lighthouse
Puppeteer
Workbox
Polymer
Angular
Page Speed Module
Lighthouse is a great tool in particular, because it provides feedback on the functionality of your website. If you're not sure how to use a particular tool, Google posts informational videos to help you.
Google Marketing Platform
The Google Marketing Platform has multiple features for both small businesses and large enterprises, including data analytics, website testing, and tag management.
These tools use Google's database to test and rank your website's compatibility with Google's AI (artificial intelligence).
Mobile-Friendly Test
If you do nothing else after setting up your website initially, this should be you best "next-step".
The Mobile-Friendly Test has Google bots that run through your website and test it to see if it is reactive to a mobile phone's internet connection and screen size.
Additionally, it looks for images or text that won't fit into the screen properly or won't load if the internet connection is too slow.
Pro tip: When asked "In general, when researching products / shopping on a smartphone, do you encounter difficulties using websites?" 27% responded with sometimes, indicating that there is still a need for mobile friendly websites.
Think with Google
Think With Google is another set of tools that helps you figure out how Google sees your website and what your customers are currently demanding. It features include: Google Trends, Shopping Insights, Consumer Barometer, and a Mobile Site Speed Test.
Now let me introduce you to the beauty that is Google Trends. Basically, you enter in a topic in the search bar, and it gives you all sorts of data on it's trends.
The main use of this tool as a small business owner is to see what tag phrases (or keywords) would be the most beneficial to market yourself for. If a particular keyword is hardly searched online, then the likeliness of any business coming of it decreases exponentially.
The best thing to do with all this information would be to explore it. As you come across new challenges, read through the tools to see what you can add to your website and online presence.
Best of luck to you,
Emma Riley
5 Reasons Why Philosophy Should Be A Big Part Of Your Life
Let's start off by defining 'philosophy' as a way to better understand knowledge, belief, faith, existence, and reality -- all completely separate entities in the case. Everyone has to have some way to understand the world, right?
Reason #1
Philosophy is a big part reason why we know as much as we do today.
Philosophy is a big part of science, as the only way to further our knowledge is to ask questions; that's the whole point of philosophy.
Leonardo Da Vinci isn't known as a philosopher, more so a scientist, however he asked questions: 'why is the sky blue,' notably being one of them. And not only did he ask questions, but he found answers to them as well. He was the first to explain why the sky was blue, rather than pink, green, black, etc.
Contrary to popular belief, being philosophical doesn't mean you sit there and think all day. Philosophy is any concept you account as truth, whether you believe it, know it, or have faith in it. We all have a little "philosopher" in us, and that's okay.
