In 2007, the British Royal Expedition searched for a new cave in Phong Nha Caves – Ke Bang. Ho Khanh also took them to find Son Doong cave for 2 days but did not find the cave either. In early 2009, when the Royal Cave Society expedition returned to Vietnam, Ho Khanh led Howard Limbert’s team and the cave was named Son Doong Cave.
