i don't care what you do in casual formats where by virtue of being a casual format you have to negotiate with your opponents on how you're allowed to have fun. you should probably do what you agreed to

making your opponent have it is more or less correct on magic online but on paper it really depends. if you claim your opponent is bad and can't kill you and you are wrong and they take 10 minutes to kill you then you lost the entire match. so maybe don't do that unless you actually think your opponent is bad and have pure contempt for them or its already g3

i have somewhat come to resent the screenshot of the deltarune wiki with all the sources for kris's pronouns because it lets people who have cleared the low bar of gendering kris correctly feel a little too proud of themselves. Itrs great to piss of chud deltarune fans, but why dont we talk about kris's relationship to gender on a deeper level? want to talk about man country? the sword route? how their relationship to gender effects their relationship with noelle both in the normal route and weird route in different ways? So obviously it doesn’t actually matter whether or not anyone knows if one individual person is tme or tma. The framework still holds value regardless. but oop here is kind of showing their hand by saying “without asking if I’m a boy or a girl” right? Clearly they want to catch people in a trap where they ask what gender they were assigned as proof people who use tme/tma are indeed transphobic. And seemingly everyone gets that is the trap because no one is. But oop doesn’t say “don’t ask my agab” and instead says don’t ask “if I’m a boy or a girl” implying they are equating the two.

For what it’s worth tme/tma is not equivalent to cafab because most camab people are tme, because most of them are cis. And it’s not equal to gender either, because most women are tme, because most are cis. But obviously both are factors. If you were assigned female at birth and/or a man, you are in the vast majority of cases tme. we live in a gendered system where both the gender ypu were assigned and the gender you are affect your positionality. We can’t change that if we pretend it isn’t an issue.

“You can’t tell if I’m tme or tma if you don’t know my agab which means it’s bad” is dumb because it’s not me or any other transfeminist knowing that matters. The system which if for instance you get arrested has to decide what gender to house you with knows, and that has consequences. Doctors who have access to your medical records know. The people who raised you and coupd have punished you for nonconformity as a child knew. So oop is correct that we as people who do not know them and do not have power overt them cannot accurately place them specifically as tme or tma. But there system we live in does that regardless.
