Photo resolution on tumblr

I only have an ipad, or an 8 year old samsung phone that I can view tumblr with. That said, a lot of my posted photos seem to never fully load, they look grainy. When I look at the files saved on my ipad, they're fine. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have this problem?

Graffiti mural near one of the canals in bangkok, 2014. There are at least 4 other medium-large pieces of the same character (with some variation) around the city, but I haven't always had a camera with me when I've found them. There's a much cooler one a ways back on my blog if you can find it ;p

Honestly, I have no idea how to phonetically spell that in Thai. But when my friends drunkenly tell a Thai taxi driver “… Dude, VIC-TOR-EE. MON-U-MENT,” I can always step in and save the day.
