An effigy of Philippine President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III burns during the 2015 labor day mobilization at Mendiola.
-----
To the bringer of death, whose neglect caused 44 to die in the line of duty, with 7 more civilian lives to boot. To the bringer of death, have you heard of the 32 journalists who have died under your rule, pen and paper in hand? To the bringer of death, who left a fellow Filipina to die for something she was not guilty of doing. The same Filipina saved on the 11th hour, minutes before death. To the bringer of death, how much more will you kill and let die in your reign of terror?
Burn in hell.

May 1 2015 - Labor Day Mobilization in the Philippines
“Workers of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains.” - Karl Marx
Siyam na Diwata ng Sining (The Nine Fairies of the Arts) by Napoleon V. Abueva Each Diwata represents an art form: theater, literature, architecture, painting, sculpture, dance, music, film, and CG. This is the output of my recent photowalk to UP Diliman. I will never tire of this place, there's something new to see every day.
August 26, 2014 - Million People March
Quirino Grandstand , Manila
January 16, 18, 2015 - The Apostolic State Visit of Pope Francis to the Philippines. It was a whole day of chasing the pope around the city, my feet hurt, but above all it was fulfilling.
I've experienced seeing the pope firsthand, as well as the huge crowd and all the buzz that came with the pontiff's arrival. I hope you as well can catch a glimpse of how it felt to be in such a place, if only through these photos.
NOVEMBER -- Photos from the Black and White Photography Challenge! I was tagged by a photographer friend on facebook, and was tasked to post a B&W photo consecutively for five days. B&W is relatively a new medium for me, and I guess I could consider this as practice. Though, I'm a bit satisfied at what I made.
December 15, 2014 - The University of the Philippines holds a lantern parade around campus. Colleges, institutes, offices and organizations join the event, showing off their lanterns to students and visitors.
Nov. 21, 2014 - A silent march against impunity and media killingsheld in the University of the Philippines Diliman. This is in commemoration of the Ampatuan Massacre massacre, which happened in Nov. 23, 2009 killing 58, 32 of which are media workers.
The Ampatuan massacre is considered the single deadliest event for journalists in history.
June 2014 - The 2014 Pet Express Dog & Cat Expo held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay. I volunteered to document for the Philippine Animal Rescue Team, and what an experience that was.
November 7, 2014 - Roadpainting in progress at the College of Mass Communications in the University of the Philippines Diliman. Just in time for HLMX, the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Hacienda Luisita Massacre, which happened November 16, 2004 killing 12 farmers and two children.
Gaston Damag's Ifugao Red exhibition at the Vargas Museum in the University of the Philippines Diliman.
Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago as she leaves a press conference in Leong Hall of the Ateneo de Manila University.
It was a stunning experience, I even got to shake her hand. I'm actually proud of these shots.
SONA ng Bayan
Remember that you are free. You need not follow anyone but yourself.
Remember that the authorities are just like you; they are people that err, and should be treated as such. They are not Gods, they are not to be worshiped. They can be brought down.
Remember that you aren't made to be oppressed. You can fight back-- you should fight back. As one, you are nothing; but as many, the stars will bow down to you.
Again, you are free-- you are made to be free.
Ang Gabing Payapa (The Peaceful Night)
Tonight dear readers, we explore the darkness.
Indeed the darkness is a frightening place, it signifies danger, and the unknown. Whether it be good or bad, our primal instincts indicate that we tend to run to safety as the sun sets. The fear of the unknown dangers of the darkness, it causes many to cower, scrambling to find light--the antithesis of darkness, signifying hope and all things good.
However, there is a hidden peace in darkness. Indeed it represents what I've stated before, but aside from that it also signifies thought and solace. In the darkness, the mind is unoccupied. If you let it be, you will find that the darkness is an opportunity for you to think and be at peace with your inner demons. The fear is only inside, but the mind is stronger than all of these. The darkness is not frightening dear readers, it is not a monster that devours all, it is a pure place-- a place of thought and solace.
