The best part of my day is throwing random things off the Mesa

We went to the river today and taught Indica to fetch from the water!

This is a gorgeous spot right off the coast of Florida near Amelia Island.

The coast of Amelia Island is like nothing else on earth.

The ocean at Amelia Island is so stunningly clear. It’s just an incredible sight to be on the beach, and have your toes washed with warm, glassy looking water.

it may have been an overcast and chilly day, but it made for a wonderful time out on the slopes.

This was the first time I’d ever been snowboarding at Keystone Resort in Colorado. It was amazing to see all the different runs on the other side of the mountain from the very top, even though they were closed the night that we went. It was also the very first time that I was able to go night riding. Keystone has trails that are completely illuminated when the sun goes down, and that was amazing too. All around Keystone is a totally unique experience on the slopes.

The day that we went on the swamp tour, the sunlight illuminated the bottom of the swamp just as we went puttering through the water. Somehow it just struck me as looking like an impressionist painting.

This was by far the biggest alligator that approached our boat out in the swamp. I was nervous about it, but our guide seemed to be totally at home. He even fed it some raw chicken right out of his hands!

In Louisiana, if you drive out of the city limits a little ways, you can opt to take a swamp tour. You ride out on a fairly large pontoon boat into the swamp, and you get to see all kinds of alligators swimming along in the water. It was neat to see some of them, but also quite frightening too — some of the reptiles can be upwards of 12 feet long!

New Orleans has an incredible zoo exhibit along the edge of the ocean. Inside is amazing. The whole building is open air, and it was neat to walk through with a parrot perched right above my head.

There’s a pavilion in the French Quarter where tons of people love to gather and talk, or visit the little stalls that some artists have set up here and there. It’s quite lovely to spend an afternoon just seeing some of the art and architecture.

New Orleans is a fantastic place to go if you’re itching to see some amazing architecture. I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with it, but I did. The atmosphere in the French Quarter is spectacular. I can’t wait to go back!

There’s nothing quite as breathtaking as watching a sunset from the top of the Space Needle. The Puget Sound becomes still and calm, and reflects every color in the sky like glass.

Along the city’s edge where the land ends and the ocean begins, the sidewalks are dotted with these beautiful trees. Each one is absolutely covered from top to bottom with gorgeous blossoms.

From the top of the Space Needle, it feels like you can see on forever into the distance. If you look carefully, you can see the outline of mountains on the horizon.

The botanical garden at the Pacific Science Center is filled with plenty of lovely plants like these.
