I’m on my last round of editing. It’s somewhat of a hinge chapter with lots of dialogue, because I need to practice it. I’ve been trying to improve the medieval-leaning register and drowned in research, historical novels, and different dictionaries, so it took me VERY long to write this. I ended up obsessing over minor things like… “Should I use the word ‘pardon’ in a late medieval fantasy fanfic?” and stuff like that. The way I’ve been gaslighting myself about words is crazy, haha.

Noooo, dear!!!

This made me a little emotional, anon, not gonna lie. Knowing someone is invested in this story to the point of messaging me after months warms my heart! Love you for it. (sob)

I planned to post new chapters in May, but life got absolutely DIABOLICAL and I had no opportunity nor cognitive strength to finish my drafts.

I had a severe episode of imposter syndrome and started hating my fanfics, lol. I wanted to re-edit or rewrite like 60k words on ao3 and was so discouraged. Thank Gods I managed to overcome this and swore not to touch a single thing. Reading all the comments I got helped a lot! It also gave me motivation to re-read ASOIAF (and a few other historical novels) so I can improve my prose.

I've been writing for the past 2 weeks and new chapters are on the way. I will not abandon my works and will finish all of them, that I promise. Though I have personal projects too and I will have slower updates when I'm working on them.
