"What?" There he is, eating the pretzels, one by one.
"You didn't seriously take a life over a bag of pretzels. That would be ridiculous"
I frickin' killed someone for a bag of pretzels.
"dad"
A tear, she was crying? All the large psycho could do was squeeze the hand he held and watch as the droplet of water trailed through the pink still on her cheek. He would have liked to have cried with her but tears were a disjointed memory that the purple haze of his mind fogged over. âgLaD yOu Did nOt DroWn iN tHe pOoL oF DeaTh.â Watching as the tear fell against his hand to be soaked in the grime that was a near constant coating. âdOeS thE caGeD bIrd flY?â Dark eye flitting back up to her face watching for anymore of the tears to fall.
She snorts a little, her hand coming up to press under her nose "Me too" she agrees with a small nod. She had accepted her fate - her prediction: death, and yet she had been wrong...it was something she wasn't exactly use to, but she was grateful for the outcome, maybe now she could live some sort of 'normal' life.Â
She slides a palm over her cheek, wiping at the stray tear. She shakes her head, but smiles "I can't leave this chair" she explains, gesturing to her legs and squeezing his fingers.Â
(Well, nobody else seems to want to jump in, and even though my Wilhelm would probably steer clear of Sanctuary, I might as well.)
"You know, Kiddo, you could always ask for help with the stairs." Said Wilhelm, clanking up behind the revived Siren. "Just like how I used to ask you to help me with doors. I'm sure there's plenty of folks around here that'd bend over backwards to make a Siren happy, even if she's not half the Siren she used to be."
Wilhelm grabbed the handles of the wheelchair and helped her along. "So, where're you off to anyway? There can't be that many places you'd be allowed to go."
She jumps as a familiar voice reaches her ears, arms retreating to rest upon her chest in a somewhat submissive pose. "Oh" Her cheeks flush pink as her held tilts up "Wilhelm" she breathes, a smile spreading across her features. For a moment she's overwhelmed, his presences grounding her.Â
Her head cocks to the side as they begin to move, the uneven ground jostling her a little. "No, there really isn't" she agrees, frowning in thought. She trusts him, she knows him. "...Wilhelm" she begins, confusion coating her tone. She turns her head slightly to look up into his face "...where've you been?"Â
She was apologizing...to him? Maybe because she had known what her father had turned him into, or felt the same weight of responsibility for her own death. But no she hadn't died and her father's work wasn't her own. Settling more on the floor with his head still on her leg a hand encompassed her own just as he felt the grazing touch at his ear. "LeT's nOt bUTchEr OUr BLooDy reMemBRanCe WiTh a siCk SWeEt tHat'S GOne." Voice slow and deliberate with just a hint of spitting frustration and pain. Struggling and hoping to be understood.
He's heavy against her; warm and rough contrasting the smooth pale of her skin. His hand is so much larger than her own; worn by time and battle. She'd never had this much physical contact in such a short amount of time; it had been an age since her own father had hugged her.Â
She smiles despite herself, lips pulling through a mass of restless and confusing emotions. "Yes, let's not" she agrees a little breathlessly, a small tear streaking the pink smudge on her cheek. "It's wonderful to see you"
Uttering his name caused the frantic motion of wiping her cheek clean to stop further punctuated by the saying that she was indeed alive. Hypo still stuck in his arm and blood lazily dripping the towel was dropped as Krieg moved in front of her. At first he loomed over her looking like every bit of death that he dealt.
But then he dropped to his knees and put his chin on one of her legs dark eye looking up into her blues. "i saW tHe PoOl of dEaTh anD waTchEd yOu sWim iN it." Words, as crazed as they were, had a questioning tone.
There's stillness, finally. A moment to catch her breath, to hold down the bile that threatened to escape. She drags air in through her nose as he stands over her; heart pounding, head light. He was more fearsome now that she couldn't hide behind metal doors.Â
She exhales as he suddenly drops to his knees, her gaze locked upon his one visible eye. It takes all her will to simply not just break down and cry. Her face distorts, brows pulling together in a frown as she held back tears. "I'm sorry, friend" she breathes, though she's not exactly sure what she's apologising for. Gingerly she reaches out, grazing her nails behind Krieg's ear in an attempt to comfort him.Â
If it hadn't been for the mask Krieg would have probably spat on his hand to smear it on her cheek. Thankfully he made no move to lift the mask even a portion. Instead spying a nearby towel, used for god knows what, grabs it and further smudges the crimson on her cheek though at least the cloth helped a little. Movements were pressing and rough, urgent to remove the taint of blood on her purity. "PoRCelAin AnD PUrIfy. MaKe hEr whOLe aNd aLiVe aGaiN."
She takes the opportunity to wipe her hand over her cheek as Krieg momentarily stops to fetch a cloth. The thought of blood on her face stilling that nausea in her stomach all over again. Who knew whose blood this was?Â
"Krieg" she says as he returns to her, only to start rubbing at her face again. It's feeling raw, the skin tingling under his touch. "That's enough I think" she chirps up "I'll have a bath when I - I'm alive" she tells him, though not exactly whole.Â
"She must have survived, that's the only-" The finger that reached out and touched her pale cheek left a smudge of blood. She was a marvel to behold, there before him and very much alive. But seeing the blood now on her cheek bothered him, reminding the psycho of the day she should have died. Growling again his finger was again at her cheek trying his best to remove the offending color. "Dude. Stop." "MaKe hEr puRe aNd reMoVe tHe rEd." Only really smudging it and making things worse.
She blinks, startled as the wet fudge of blood is pressed into her warm cheek. Her brows pull together into a confused and somewhat horrified frown as she stares up at the large man.Â
It's warm and sickly, and for a moment she's too shocked to breathe. But he's rubbing at her flesh, skin moving up and down as she squints and tries to wipe at her face, though Krieg's large hands almost made that impossible. "It's okay" she swallows, not doubting half her face was probably a splotchy pink by now "we just need some water..."
Now she understood how Claptrap feltâŚwell, partly. Sanctuary wasnât built to be âwheel friendlyâ, stairs were an obstacle she couldnât psychically overcome, not right now anyway. It was a small price to pay though, a tiny thing for the freedom sheâd finally been given.
She knew her presence in Sanctuary had caused some kind of tension between certain citizens, a tension that had guilt swelling in her stomachâŚbut she couldnât change the past all she could do was move forward.
She swallows as she pushes her way over the threshold of Zedâs clinic and into the street. Her heart hammers, sunlight kisses the pale of her skin and the crunch of concrete sounds from below her wheels. She didnât see much point in wearing shoes anymore; it was simply impractical to cover limbs she wasnât even using.
She stops by the post box and sighs as she attempts to shake the jelly out of her arms.
[ Rain 2 ]
Rain 2: Iâll write a drabble of our characters having fun in the rain.
Someone had mentioned rain at headquarters, and he was cussing them right about now. When theyâd left, not a cloud in the damn sky, warm and sunny all day. Perfect enough to take a trip down and wander around outside, although out of Sanctuary for a while. Itâd be nice to get away from it all, if only for a moment. They both needed it.
There wasnât a way to escape it once itâd happened. Instantly, it seemed like, the sky went dark and sheets of rain poured down, drenching them both in a matter of what seemed like seconds. Heâd taken his head scarf and draped it around her shoulders and over her head in a feeble attempt to keep her dry, but it was futile. He groaned, soaked clear through to the bone.
Although she was smiling. A small giggle left her at his newly acquired âdrowned puppyâ look, and the pout on his face was the cherry on top. He blinked, frustrated at first, but he couldnât help it. She had an effect on him like that. His upset demeanor cracked in to a smile to match hers, flashing teeth and brightening his entire face.Â
"Câmere," he said softly, offering his hands to her. Heâd mentioned trying this before, but she didnât really seem enthused by the idea. Hopefully she trusted him by now. She stared at him a moment, unsure, but slowly reached for him. He pulled her up, lifting her so that his arms crossed beneath her butt and her stomach was face level with him.Â
She clenched at his shoulders momentarily before looking up to the sky. Her unsure look faded to a relaxing state, a hand reaching up, feeling the droplets of rain hit her skin and roll down, causing goosebumps to flutter across her flesh.
She felt at ease and all he wanted was to make her feel safe.
It started off as a small chuckle, then a giggle, and then she was laughing, both arms out and her head falling back to enjoy the feeling of the rain. Axton smiled wide at her laugh, looking up at her. She looked like she was flying with her arms waving in the breeze, fingers splayed against the water pouring from the sky.
Her name suits her perfectly.
Our original plan was that Angel, with her âPhase Shiftâ Siren ability, could make her environment appear however she wanted. When the players entered Control Core Angel for the first time, it would look like a normal environment, possibly as a childâs nursery in a mansion, or as a scientific research facility. Angel would meet the players face-to-face for the first time in a situation that was almost surreal in its normalcy. Then, Angel would be snatched away, which shattered the illusion and revealed the true nature of herself and her captivity. Hopefully, this would give the player a surprising moment of revelation. â Keith Schuler, a Senior Designer on Borderlands 2
Her words cut through his screaming laugh body tensing just as much as the siren's as he noticed her hand hovering just above his own. Grip tightened on the hold it had on the arm of the chair. How... We saw her dead. The inner voice finding its own way out to speak to him.
Almost fearfully he wrenched his scarred and blood stained hand away as the confusion of her apparent rebirth and now appearance here in the floating city hit him. She wasn't some specter or dead thing, he could see the life in those blue eyes. Though she was weakened by the ordeal they had all gone through. "wHy? HOW!" Demanding an answer to the questions and confusion already eating at his mind.
She can smell her own vomit mingling with the horrid smell of blood. It was almost suffocating; her head light and chest tight. How was she meant to deal with this situation?
She pulls back when he does, snatching her hands to her chest. Her heart pounds, her mouth dry. If he happened to get angry with her there would be no escape, not this time.Â
"I-I" she stutters, shifting in her seat "I don't know" she shakes her head "..I don't know why"

It's all Zed can do to even get one Insta Heal into the screaming hulk of a man as Krieg continues his manic rampage in the doorway. Only after he was stabbed and feeling the hot warmth of the medicine does he settle, heaving and dripping blood. It wasn't until he heard the unmistakable sound of someone vomiting that his dark bloodshot eye locked on the wheelchair bound siren.
Snarling out he shoves Zed aside with another vial sticking from his arm stalking over to Angel in disbelief. "dEad dO nOt wAlk!" Eyeing the chair she was in he laughed loudly jostling it with a hand. "tHeY rOll!"
Her throat burns as she continues to shudder, shoulders trembling as she held onto the armrest of her wheelchair. This wasn't how...well, truthfully she hadn't exactly thought that she would see Vault Hunters individually - especially not Krieg.Â
Her breath catches as he rushes toward her, instinct kicking in and causing her muscles to tighten, hands and leg moving to shield herself. Only, he didn't hit her, no, he decided that rocking her seat was totally fine "Krieg, please" she begs, still recovering from her previous ordeals "Yes, I roll. Just...shh, shh" she tries to calm him, hands hovering over his own, too cautious to touch his flesh.
"Well. People."
"Oh. Well, no - yes, that's understandable..."Â
If Angel had survived Iâd like to think Gaige wouldâve exposed her to punk rock.Â
"Yeah. If I didnât enjoy it I wouldnât keep doing it. Itâs fascinating. And amusing sometimes."
"amusing? How so?"
