While I’m not putting myself in the running to win any cash prizes for @phyrnnaofficial‘s Valentine’s Day contest because circumstances, I thought I’d take a shot at it anyway. I made sure to take a break for a day or two, and then worked on the rest of it today.
Just saying, I thoroughly enjoyed making this. This is the first time I’ve done anything remotely resembling stained glass, and it sorta puts into perspective just how intricate it can be. Also, fun fact: there are TWO people called Saint Valentine whose feast days fall on 14 February. I don’t really know what they looked like back in the day, but I do know one of them was a bishop, and so I put him in clerical garb. On a related side note though, their clothes evoke milk and blood, to me. Mmhmmmmmmmm. Also, fires of passion. …I need not say more.
No sacrilege or disrespect intended. I kinda pictured Phyrnna here as a saint – I don’t know why, but it gave me joy doing this.
