I know we all hate losing an hour of sleep, but you need to remember the science behind Daylight Savings Time. The Sun is unable to sleep on their own due to the horrors they've seen over the millenia so the sun would go out due to exhaustion if humanity did not ritually sacrifice an hour from each of our life forces to gift it to the sun but don't worry because the moon steadily and stealthily absorbs the sun's excess energy and will secretly gift it back to us in the fall. Basic science
I sometimes think about the letter KA Applegate posted for her fans who were disappointed by the ending of her series, and while I understand simply not liking how a story ends, I really respect her reasoning.
Like you can dislike the ending, that's fine.
But her reasoning is very interesting to read. And I really enjoy the framing of the anti war message.
You don't like that one war simply led to another? Fine. Pretty soon you'll all be of voting age, and of draft age. So when someone proposes a war, remember that even the most necessary wars, even the rare wars where the lines of good and evil are clear and clean, end with a lot of people dead, a lot of people crippled, and a lot of orphans, widows and grieving parents.

āDo you ever look at someone and wonder, "What is going on inside their head?" Well, I know. Well, I know Riley's head.ā
Honestly the word "Rhythm" can fuck right off for being spelled that way
I always have to start the New Years with this picture.
Must suck ass to be like. a lawyer or something in the pokemon world. They haven't made any cool lawyer pokemon yet
Ho oh
I think we have different definitions of ālawyerā but sure
Why wouldn't ho oh be a lawyer? They're a Phoenix, wright?
In the kindest way possible, fuck you
2 hot takes:
1. Water rides in theme parks should only get you at most slightly sprinkled. No one wants to get soaked and itās frustrating because otherwise water rides are often some of the best.
2. Why arenāt we putting these elaborate water rides in water parks? The best place for a Congo River rapids or a Jurassic park river adventure would be in a freaking water parks and then water parks could actually become fully realized as theme parks.
Oh gosh Iāve sparked discourse. Some notes:
Yes, including hot climates. Itās no fun to walk around in soaked clothes in any weather
Ponchos are not a good solution - annoying to carry and more importantly in said hot climates you will get soaked from sweat. And where exactly do you store a wet poncho after?
Some rides only sometimes get you soaked, this is worse - unpredictability in level of wetness is annoying
Taking an entire spare set of clothes with you to a park is kinda bonkers unless youāre like very local and like carrying heavy bags with you the whole day or paying for a locker? Also changing out of wet clothes in a theme park bathroom is its own torture - been there done that.
^Yep, still agree with all this. The hot Florida or SoCal sun will NOT dry you as fast as you'd hope. Especially if you're trying to maximize your day by going to attraction after attraction.
Also "just change clothes" doesn't account for things like hair and makeup that aren't so easy to just fix up/dry in a park bathroom. Plus, yeah, who is carrying a big enough bag into the park for a full change of clothes and shoes??
Not to mention that Florida may be hot, but it's also humid enough that it takes forever to dry even in direct sunlight 100+ degree weather
Tiana replacing the splash cannons at the bottom of the big drop with misters is a big step in the right direction for the kind of "splash" I want from water rides
Ask not for whom the sleigh bells jingle; they jingle for thee
I can't wait till someday we just know what the One Piece is. Its going to be such an incredible lore drop
Physical thing that is literally the name of the comic that we know NOTHING about after 25+ years except that the last person who found it laughed whenever he saw it
One Piece ends when they find the One Piece but it's just One Piece of a 250 piece puzzle so it immediately leads into a sequel series named Two Hundred and Forty Nine Other Pieces that will end sometime in the year 2178
Gonna pre-game before Halloween Horror Nights with some of that autism Tylenol so I can enjoy the FNAF house more
you put an Apparently Reasonable Amount of dried pasta in boiling water and it turns into Much More Pasta than Anticipated
I've started a new trend of putting Lowball Estimated Amount of pasta and wouldn't you know it I end up with an embarrassingly small serving and have to then decide if I'm going to make a second round or just eat a few other things to make up the rest of the meal
And different pasta shapes undergo different Amount Transformations when boiled so that's one more thing to keep track of
If you try to cook angel hair pasta you're just fucked
Gradually getting more bland and cookie cutter
Shoutout to whoever picked a golf to use for this infograph, because itās probably an intentional reference to the āHarlequinā golf, which as you can see by comparing the modle to the infograph, is unfortunately a relic of the time when colors were winning.
Some important context here is that insurance companies charge more for brighter colors associating the colors with more reckless behavior which makes bland cars cheaper to insure and thus easier to resell. So, like many things, it's money grubbing greedy corporations trying to profit off of everything that brings joy to people's lives that are the real issue
