Today I was listening to Chopin etude op.10 no.2 in my car way to my work. Then while I was working I realised that it was playing no. 3 in my head...

Kissin plays Beethoven 32 variations in c minor. One of my favorite pieces. Each variation is a world. You will find passion, lyrical passages, some mystery, battle and reconciliation, all in one, well in 32!

So my teacher quoted Yoda

me: *plays Chopin etude op. 10 no.1*

teacher: ok, this starts to sound good, there's legato and deep touch, but what I don't like is the left hand. It's unprepared. You have to prepare each note with deep touch.

me: Ok, I'll try.

teacher: DO IT OR DO IT NOT. THERE IS NO TRY.

me: *widely open my eyes*

teacher: that's from star wars, The Empire Strikes Back.

me: Ok...I'll do it then!

She is such a great teacher. I'm so lucky.

So I started to study this Sonata for Flute and piano composed by Poulenc. It's a dream. Not easy for my flutist friend. Neither for me.

Personally i’m happy for the results except for Aymi Kobayashi who i admire a lot and i think she deserved an award.

Child prodigy she passed to the third stage of International Chopin Competition (only 20 succeeded to pass). I think she performs in a very moving way, very special, she is from another world. I think we will hear a lot from her in the future.

So Aimi Kobyashi passed to the Grand Final of International Chopin Competition, only 10 achieved that. She will play one of the two concerts for piano composed by Chopin. You can watch her here online october 18 at 19:50h CET.

Chopin competition

Dear followers, in case you missed it, this year there is the International Chopin Competition (you know, they make it only once every 5 years) and they broadcast it live online via youtube. Today it started the second stage, 48 competitors left. It’s a good oportunity to listen different chopin approachs from the best young pianists around the world. Go!
