I'm so tired of all these rumours about oscar being unhappy at mclaren. Oscar himself has said multiple times that he's happy exactly where he is. He even talked about it again just last week.
Andrea Stella and ZB have also been clear that they're fully committed to both lando and oscar bc they believe they're the perfect driver pairing for the team. Zak even joked that the only scenario where they'd consider Max would be "if for some strange reason someone slipped on a banana peel getting out of the tub".
At this point i don't know what agenda max's camp is trying to push. Out of all the drivers in the top 4 teams, oscar is the only one who really seems to be the target of this kind of speculation. They won't go after lando bc he's the reigning world champ, ferrari's lineup is unlikely to change after charles extended his contract and lewis extending feels more likely than not, and toto has said that mercedes will stick with its current lineup for the next year.
These rumours make it seem like oscar is constantly looking for an exit or isn't committed to mclaren, and people always bring up mark webber as if he's still heavily involved in every decision. He now works more behind the scenes focusing on commercial and management matters rather than being involved every race weekend.
With these new regs i think it's completely understandable if oscar's not 100% satisfied with the car and/or the team's performance right now. I'm sure he knows that adapting to a regulation change takes time, even during the ground effect era mclaren didn't become a top team overnight. If anything, i believe oscar wants to be part of that process and help build mclaren into a consistent championship-winning team.
