sometimes i remember being able to draw is cool
made account for this page on bsky @ picantesinferno.bsky.social
decided that any art i post on there is just going to be split up between the three depending on where it's most appropriate for the time being
i wonder what my shit would look like if i brought back the fuckass triangle eyes instead of drawing the iris as a circle like a normal person
holy shit almost done getting a more final general design for a character done after 2 months. and i’ve been just drawing them nakey/in random outfits for almost exactly a year ago from when i started this. and that was the first time i’ve drawn them in the ~10 years they have existed in my brain
soon all i have to do is just have to model them. and then potentially draw the ref again in a higher resolution. and then model them again in a higher poly. (this sounds like a dumb overelaborate process but its going to be necessary if i want to use this character ever, trust)
phase 1 complete... starting phase 2 tonight
i forgot to say that the reason for that crazy process i need the first 3d model to get proper proportions, as, i don't entirely trust my drawing skills to properly depict proportions between drawings yet, especially ones for a design as specific as this one (i already found a ton of problems when i finished it, but this was what i was planning all this for. make stuff like this with this design easier later).
i might not actually need the second drawing, i was mostly just planning on using it to add detail before i start the second 3d model to add it to, i could maybe just use the first model as a reference (maybe just drawing directly onto exported images of it)
might not even need to make a 2nd model but idk i feel like starting over after might help with optimization and detail
hardest part of the model is maybe 95% done. just need to figure out if i still like it later & figure out how the fuck to make flat surfaces ...flat.

touhou characters can be a very useful resource as reference material for things you aren’t quite sure how to depict since there’s about 20 years of fanart being made nearly constantly by people of all experience. you can see how beginners have learned to fix mistakes, you can see genuinely masterful techniques at play, you can see how design can be adapted to endless styles even by a single artist, and there’s guaranteed to be wip pieces out there to show how some of them have come to their results

finally trying to put an earnest effort into figuring out how to wrap my head around drawing mecha is so great like look at this cool fricken leg im trying to design
was considering making it my second project, but it seems so much simpler than anything else i keep doing, so i'm formally announcing the start of project marw
i still really like this design and its style
i still really like this design and its style
i think i might want to try to make it in 3d at some point
for something.
i think i did a better job with its shape and how the white fits around it, but i like how much more active and haphazard the shapes are in the original :/
been doing drawings differently lately
instead of starting like this;
i’ve been doing this the past few weeks
i think it’s been helping with getting things done faster, since i’m worrying about anatomy more later than right at the start as well as being able to do more things short amount of time, keeping everything a more coherent process. also less layers have to be in use
i’ve also stopped worrying about keeping sketch layers color coded, though i still have for more complicated things like hair, and likely will for drawings that will likely end up as more than just sketches, just to make sure it’s easy for me to work on for longer
apparently i have yet to start naming layers too :’) i did not mean to leave that in
i think this was funnier in my head
did a thumbnail for a drawing so vague, it looks like a goofy skeleman lets see if it works
