+Captain Picard
The clearly targeted remarks in regard to the apparel choices of the females of this colony, Picard chose to ignore. A single misinterpretation of any response that he gave could damage his, notably, clean reputation. Instead, he chose to respond to the arguably more interesting points raised by the Commander. “Wings? Remarkable, would I be correct in saying these people are capable of flight, Number one?” He smiled a little, “French- that strikes me more than a little odd, are you suggesting that these colonists have had contact with… well, specifically French humans, before us?”
He nodded as Riker continued to elaborate, and raised gently his palm to silence him once the bulk of his findings were over with. He was more than certain he could avoid touching the wings of a female colonist, it was Wesley and or Data he was the most concerned about. Or Doctor Crusher- Picard mentally noted to inform her of the intriguing tradition before she undertook and medical examinations of the colonists. “Understood. Thank you, Will. Now, I’d like you to accompany me and away team down on the surface. Aht- not another word.” He raised an index finger, “I’m sure Worf is more than capable of commanding the Enterprise for a few hours.” Tapping at his commbadge which emitted a glistening sound, he strode over the turbolift, “I want an away team to meet me in transporter room three, Picard out. Mister Worf, you have the bridge.”
Riker nodded to him a bit, ' It is possible sir after all when you see them you will see a lot of things from earth there. They have a legend that the Phantom of the Opera, Erik was one of their own and had been lost on earth.' He said and shrugged a bit. He got up to join him.
He walked forward to the Turbolift to join him going down.
