Percival “Purpur” McAllister

Turned against his will at 14; currently 18.

Shares a Sire with Algernon.

Sire drained his parents and intended to drain him as well, but mistakenly left him alive with just enough vampiric venom in him to turn him.

Seeks vengeance on his Sire for the murder of his parents.

As quiet and unsettling in undeath as he was in life. Not a bad kid by any means, but struggles with expressing himself and understanding others’ emotions. Doesn’t dislike people, just doesn’t get them. Kinder than he lets on.

Algernon “Algie” Blythe

Turned willingly at 16.

Shares a Sire with Purpur.

Parents died of cholera, which he also contracted, in 1852.

Encountered his Sire by chance, and upon learning of his vampiric nature, begged to be turned. Has been his Sire’s loyal servant ever since.

Hunting Purpur to rectify his Sire’s “mistake”.

Completely and utterly full of himself unless he is in the presence of his Sire. Believes vampires to be superior to humans, mostly due to his Sire’s teachings and trauma. Speaking of trauma, has a lot of it. Crippling fear of sickness and death. Suffers vivid nightmares. Would probably be an okay guy if he would ever realize his relationship with his Sire is toxic.

Piero di Francesco

Turned “willingly” at 12.

Family made a pact with an influential Venetian vampire, exchanging their first-born son for his favor. Piero subsequently became the vampire’s pupil, and the two developed a familial relationship over time.

Fled Venice in 1486 after his Sire’s death at the hands of an up-and-coming vampire hunter. Met and befriended Simone, who he would come to view as his older brother, soon after.

Classically educated, but has no street sense.

Possesses the mind of an adult, but clings to some of his more childish tendencies, such as his boundless curiosity and penchant for (harmless) mischief. An actual genius, he just likes to shut his brain off a little too often. Extremely compassionate and, if you ask Simone, annoyingly sentimental. Favorite pastime: tricking other non-humans into thinking he’s younger than he is.

Simone

Turned against his will at 18.

Raised by thieves on the streets of Venice. Never knew his birth parents, and gave up searching for them long ago.

Sexually assaulted and turned by a vampiric nobleman in 1458. Sire attempted to abduct him, but was thwarted by a group of fellow thieves who recognized Simone.

Fled Venice in 1486 after the death of Piero’s Sire, who he met entirely by coincidence and essentially took under his wing.

Street smart, but lacks academic education.

Unfriendly to everyone but Piero, who he is aggressively protective of. Suspicious of human and non-human alike. Excellent judge of character, but rarely trusts any positive judgment he doles out. Despite living a comfortable life with Piero, has never really been able to let go of his roots. Typically spurns luxuries, but will, on occasion, allow Piero to spoil him.

Mirabello Alegri

Born to vampiric parents in 1533.

Tutored under several well-known painters of the age, but found that his true passion lay in botany.

Has quite literally been arranging and selling flowers since the 16th century. The man knows what he wants, and he is very good at what he does.

Unusually modern for a vampire of such advanced age. Owns his fair share of cutting edge tech.

A friendly face in the little coastal village he’s chosen as his latest home; most of its residents know him by name. Genuinely a delight, an absolute ray of sunshine. So much love in his heart that it is overflowing. Enjoys his simple life, and wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Lovejoy

Mysterious past, which is code for, “I don’t know, I don’t know, ask me tomorrow.”

Suffered an immense amount of trauma throughout his youth, including his formative years. This trauma has resulted in a cocktail of mental illnesses, everything from paranoia to hypersexuality to unhealthy obsession.

That last one is particularly dangerous, because it mixes violently with a vampire’s instinctive need to defend whatever and whoever they believe to be “theirs”. This results in possessive behaviors that can lead the vampire in question to commit acts ranging from abduction to outright murder.

Basically, don’t hook up with him unless you’re in it for the long haul, and don’t hook up with him because you think he’s a “yandere”. It’s all fun and memes until he kills your childhood friend in a fit of jealousy.

Pierrot

Born in late 17th century France to a human prostitute, who swiftly abandoned him upon discovering his vampiric nature. She left no note and no name, and so the man who found him, the ringmaster of a rather peculiar circus, named him Pierrot.

No one is entirely certain if he is naturally stoic or if his upbringing instilled a sense of obligation within him to play the straight man to his wacky coworkers. Whatever the case, he never smiles, and he doesn’t seem to realize that this is unusual.

In fact, his comprehension of what is generally considered “normal behavior” is next to nonexistent. What little tact he possesses is a result of much trial and error on his part, he has almost no concept of personal boundaries (both physical and conversational), and he is unflinching in the face of all things that would make a lesser man’s stomach churn.

That isn’t to say he’s lacking in personality, just that his emotions and behavior tend to portray him as, er, well, a bit of a sociopath.

Listen, he’s trying his best, okay? Be nice to him.

Miyazaki, Tsuya

Born in 1970; turned against his will in 1986 at age 16.

Unfortunately, and much the same as Purpur, Tsuya’s parents were drained before his eyes by the man who would become his Sire. The next decade of his life was spent in forced service to his parents’ murderer, ending with Tsuya enacting his revenge and fleeing the scene of the crime.

Fortunately, he was picked up by an agent of White Cross, a multinational vampire hunting organization, and was subsequently pardoned. White Cross works with peaceful vampires in order to smoke out and imprison or eradicate those who drink from unwilling humans; when offered a chance to prevent what happened to him from happening to others, Tsuya jumped at the opportunity.

Although he was born and raised in Japan, he moved to England in order to be closer to White Cross HQ. His studious disposition and genuine passion for protecting others has earned him a spot among White Cross’ elite.

Tsuya rarely does field work, preferring research and development, but is sometimes called out on particularly gruesome cases involving children, as his superiors have found that he is naturally gifted with them.

Despite his trauma, he finds vampires and other non-humans fascinating, hence his preference for R&D. He is always seeking further knowledge and new, inventive ways to bridge the gap between humans and magical folk.

Dr. Johnathan Doe

No, that’s not his real name. No, he isn’t going to tell you his real name.

A seedy underworld doctor with a past that can charitably be described as “murky”. Ask him when and where he was born, when he was turned, who his Sire is, and he’ll have a different answer for every day of the week. You’ll be lucky to get one at all, really. Most who pry into his personal life end up under his knife.

Generally easy to get along with, provided you mind your own business and don’t mind a touch of brutal honesty. The man’s blunter than a crayon in a kindergarten. Evidently, no one taught him about good bedside manner in med school.

His high tolerance for the smell of blood may be entirely natural, but most who meet him speculate otherwise. It’s much more likely that he spent a great deal of his formative years in a, putting in mildly, harsh environment. Despite this, Dr. Doe doesn’t particularly enjoy violence (unless it’s being enacted on someone who’s personally wronged him), but the carefree way he discusses it suggests almost total desensitization.

Drinks like a camel and smokes like a chimney.

Not much more to say about this one. He’s a deeply private individual, so your guess is as good as mine.

Dr. Akagawa, Hayato

An Osaka native who graduated top of his class, even despite his penchant for mad science. Actually, it was the mad scientist shtick that landed him a cushy government gig as the head of R&D on a highly classified project.

The end goal of the project was to enhance the human race. Hayato was told that he could achieve this goal via any means he deemed necessary, and that the ends would subsequently justify them.

The results of many failures and the complete loss of Hayato’s humanity were mixed. What they lacked in intelligence, they largely made up for in strength, speed, resilience, and longevity, but their reliance on human blood to sustain themselves presented a unique roadblock. This particular flaw earned them the name “false vampires”.

Honestly, it’s a good thing Hayato is both a genius and a madman, because he was more than happy to offer himself up as food for his “coven”. Through daily feeding sessions, he was able to earn their trust and respect--as well as become one of them himself.

Like true vampires, false vampires are able to “turn” humans, at least to some extent. Their saliva contains a type of mutagen that, once injected into a human’s bloodstream, immediately begins to rewrite their genetic code. Hayato will likely never possess the same raw power his creations do, but he is, effectively, immortal.

One like = one prayer that this man and his mutant children never breach containment.

SQUAD UP! It’s time for Yuna and his crew of miscreant demons!

The characters are, top to bottom, left to right--

Nakajima, Yuna: A human with unusually high magical potential. His specialty is the binding of demons into servitude, which he utilizes to stop particularly troublesome demons from threatening human populations across the globe. Most of the demons under his care were seduced by him, as he has quite a knack for making men want him. As such, several of his servants are vying for his favor, but, in his own words, “I don’t play favorites~”

Obviously, Yuna is a bit of a flirt. His tastes extend well beyond demons, into just about any non-human he can get his hands on. He has a ravenous appetite for handsome men, but no plans to settle down any time soon. It isn’t that romance doesn’t appeal to him, more that he’s still young and a little too free-spirited for anything permanent. The way he dotes on his servants, though, you’d certainly think he was in love with them, Nihil in particular.

Mourning Dove: Affectionately referred to by his coworkers as “Dovey”, this little fellow was the first of Yuna’s servants, and is therefore his most staunch defender. The details of his past are hazy, even in his own mind, but he was born into the slave trade, nameless, nothing, the psychological toll of which would not become apparent until his eventual escape. He was full of hatred for the humans who had callously treated him as property, and claimed many lives before Yuna was able to soothe his aching heart. “You’re pretty as a mourning dove,” Yuna told him. From that moment on, he decided that this would be his name.

Dovey is, above all, an empath. Much of his time recovering from a life of slavery was spent learning to feel again. Once he got the hang of it, however, he found that he felt a little too much, so much so that he’s become somewhat of a crybaby. When others are in pain, he is often the one to comfort them. His sweet disposition and cute appearance have earned him his coworkers’ love, although they still get a bit miffed with him whenever he tries to hog Yuna’s attention.

Dr. Callaway: An interesting case, and a tough nut to crack. Only Yuna knows his full name; no one knows his story. All he’s shared is that he was fingered for human experimentation, and that, no, he has neither learned his lesson nor wishes to. Still, he behaves himself well enough, perhaps because he is entirely obsessed with Yuna in the most unhealthy way. While most of his coworkers consider one another family, Dr. Callaway is detached and often mocking of their sentimentality.

As expected, Dr. Callaway is a terrible sadist. He takes great pleasure in hurting others in any way he can. Nowadays, this is limited almost entirely to insults and threats, but he has been known to get physical with others when Yuna isn’t looking. It doesn’t help that nothing seems to bother him in return. You could beat the man senseless, and he’d come out of it grinning like a jackal.

Corvo: This one was a misunderstanding--or, rather, a case of cultures clashing in a very gruesome manner. Corvo is a hybrid of demon and crowkin. Beastkin are not true demons, but are often lumped in with them, so mixed-race families are not uncommon. Unfortunately, this can lead to some problematic offspring, particularly when one or both of the parents are detached from human society. Corvo, like many crowkin, was taught that food is food, and that human meat is the most delicious of all. He bore no ill will toward humans, but his view of them as, essentially, cattle culminated in a visit from Yuna.

Following his binding, Corvo began the lengthy process of finding something he liked more than human flesh. This, as it turned out, was sweets--all sweets, from pastries, to ice cream, to candy. He had never had sweets before, and everyone agreed that they suited his bubbly, affectionate personality more than human flesh anyway. He is certainly the gentlest of all of Yuna’s servants, dedicated to his family and to protecting those in need. He’s especially fond of cats.

Erebus: Known by those who worship him as the Master of Crows, Erebus is an ill-understood being. He is ancient, but has had little to do with his own kind since time out of mind. Instead, he appears to have become so entwined with his worshipers that he can no longer live without their faith to sustain him. During the Northern Crusades, a great many of them were persecuted for their faith, and Erebus fell into a centuries-long slumber. Only when his followers began to grow in number again did he wake--and command those loyal to him to seek vengeance for their fallen brethren. Naturally, Yuna had a thing or two to say about that.

Erebus is highly asocial, but does not dislike his coworkers. It would be a stretch to say he views them as family; even so, he gets along well with them on the rare occasion Yuna can talk him out of his comfortable pocket of darkness. As the oldest of his colleagues, he is respected and even admired, but he cares little for the love of his own kind. He desires mortal love, which he receives through his worshipers. Due to their number still being relatively low, you’ll rarely catch him awake. Only Yuna seems able to rouse him, and only because Yuna is his “most cherished one”.

Mage: A troublemaker with a bark worse than his bite--but he can and will bite, so mind your fingers. Like Dr. Callaway, his true name is known only to Yuna. His coworkers know him as Mage, taken from Magenta, the name of the rather nasty chemical he produces to draw in his prey. He doesn’t harm them, but he has seduced many a married man away from his wife. Causing strife among couples is what he does best. As an incubus, he finds the taste of a married man’s energy too sweet to resist. So, of course, when he found himself seduced by Yuna, he was completely baffled--and absolutely obsessed. He still toys with married men now and then, when he gets the chance, but spends most of his time trying to talk Yuna back into bed.

Though rare, Mage can be persuaded to bust heads, and does so with the best of ‘em. He’s highly territorial, meaning that although he rather likes his colleagues, he often tangles up with them over Yuna’s affection. He is particularly hostile toward Nihil, who rather delights in teasing Mage with his closeness to their master. Outside of his romantic conflicts with his housemates, he tends to be rather lackadaisical, spending much of his free time lounging on every comfortable surface available. People find his presence enjoyable due to his easygoing disposition and passion for mischief.

Nihil: Of all the demons under Yuna’s employ, Nihil is the one who has come closest to winning his heart. Theirs is a strangely intimate relationship, one which Yuna insists is platonic--and yet, Nihil is at his side always, his obedient shadow. Of course, they weren’t always so close. Nihil is an inherently violent, cruel man whose sole purpose in life is to cause as much pain and grief as he possibly can. He is absolutely, positively insane, for no other reason than this is how he believes a demon should be. This is his aesthetic, and a demon’s aesthetic is absolute. He minds his P’s and Q’s now that he’s bound to Yuna, but never lets his “family” forget what he is, Yuna least of all.

Nihil loves no being, except, by his own admission, Yuna. He teases his master constantly, always pushing his limits, always pushing his buttons. “I am your loyal dog,” is a favorite line of his, spoken, with a pointed smile, whenever Yuna asks something of him. For some reason, it never fails to fluster Yuna, which allows Nihil to worm himself further into his darling’s heart. Unlike his colleagues, he is not afraid to get physical with Yuna, and many of their more heated arguments have ended in the bedroom. Whether Nihil actually enjoys servitude remains to be seen, but for Yuna, he would pull the moon from the sky.

Pox: The general consensus on Pox is “unfriendly, but not unbearable”. A life of self-isolation has made him difficult to approach, even more difficult to befriend, especially given that everyone he’s ever loved, he has killed. He is a demon of sickness, of plague and of rot, of suffering so old as to be carved into the bones of the earth. When he was young, he could not control the disease that spread from him. Though his mortal mother tried desperately to guide him, eventually, she was overcome, and Pox left the village he had once called home, now populated only by the dead and dying. He learned then that he could not live among his mother’s people, but he knew nothing of his father’s. Rather than seek them out and put them at risk as well, he exiled himself to the outskirts of human society, interacting with it only when necessary. With time, he came to understand his power, and was able to control it--but his peaceful life came to an end when one of the few humans he had allowed himself to love was killed in a botched robbery. Pox designated himself judge, jury, and executioner, and it wasn’t long before Yuna showed up on his doorstep.

Pox hides his self-loathing under a cold, hard outer shell. His mask is flawless, perfected through a lifetime of guilt, and he allows no one near enough to break it. His coworkers believe that they are despised by him, but in truth, he loves each of them with every inch of himself. Saying so is difficult, though, and such an admission would only encourage them to endanger themselves. He may be in complete control of his magic most days, but there are times even now when he catches himself slipping. He is desperate to protect Yuna and the strange family they have all built together, so much so that he would rather suffer in silence than risk their lives asking for help.

Seta Sericum: The peculiarity of his name has led to his coworkers calling him Silky, a moniker which he has accepted only begrudgingly. Silky is a Nephalem, the product of a love between angel and demon. Typically, his fathers’ love for one another would have ended in tragedy, but the two stayed together even after their angelic half was cast from divinity. Silky was raised in a happy home, albeit a mobile one; his fathers couldn’t risk staying in one place for too long, lest the Church track them down. Ultimately, it was the Church, their greatest fear, that was their end. They were cut down while protecting Silky, who was forced to flee in the vain hope that his absence might somehow save his fathers. The Church searched for him, but he had hidden himself well. Now an orphan, he swore vengeance on his parents’ murderers--and he got it too, once he was old enough to control his immense magical power. He despises the Church, but killed only those among its ranks who had directly harmed him. Regardless, Yuna came for him, and he submitted to servitude as recompense.

Silky’s demonic father was a real fop of a man, and his son is no different now that he’s had a chance to adjust to a normal life. He insists that everyone pull their own weight, that everything be in its place at all times, and has a fondness for indulgences such as expensive wine and imported chocolates. Without these little luxuries, he would surely have gone mad, for both his mischievous master and his trouble-making housemates frustrate him to no end. He has tried, with mixed success, to serve as a role model for them, but, oh, they are all such children. Dovey is far too naive, Dr. Callaway is far too sadistic, Corvo is far too oblivious, Mage is far too flirtatious, Nihil is far too violent, Pox is far too cold, and Vincent is far too reclusive. Erebus, at least, is well-behaved, though Silky thinks he could stand to mingle more with the group.

Vincent Blythe: On the forefront of medical progress during the Victorian Era, Dr. Vincent Blythe has become little more than a shell of his former self. When his prostitute mother was murdered by one of her stags, something snapped in him. He began targeting, torturing, and finally killing any man who frequented brothels or whom he had seen with street-walkers, believing himself to be the protector of his mother’s people. It was only then when he realized he was something more than human. His father, it turned out, had been a demon who had fallen terribly in love with his mother, but whose feelings had been spurned by her. After receiving a near-fatal wound in a skirmish with a prominent vampire hunter of the day, Vincent tucked himself away in a dark corner of London to heal. He slept for over a century, and when he woke, attempted to pick up where he’d left off. Confused, his trauma still fresh in his mind, he killed all who drew near. Phone calls were made, flights were booked, and Yuna arrived on scene to bring him back to his senses.

Vincent is terribly withdrawn. On the one hand, he is distrustful of all humans, and men in particular frighten him. On the other hand, he has had little to no experience with his own kind, and so struggles to fit in among them. He finds himself at an impasse, unable to shake the trauma of his mother’s murder, and equally unable to bond with his father’s kin. Because of this, he is prone to bouts of violent madness when he feels that he is being threatened, or when he wakes from particularly vivid nightmares, in which he witnesses his mother’s murder and can do nothing to stop it. Dr. Callaway has oft remarked that Vincent is a genius, a true medical prodigy, and that it is too bad he’s so “broken”.

The lore--

Works in the Heavenly Archives. Blunt, unfriendly, busy. Like all Archivists, has been granted Sight by the gods and can compel others to speak truth when necessary. Basically, huge Jonathan Sims if he didn’t have Martin energy.

Model who has achieved Total Apathy. A lot of trauma that he refuses to unpack. Kind of a nightmare to work with, but popular enough that companies are willing to put up with his nasty habit of causing problems on purpose anyway.

This bitch is a poncy demon noble. You can just tell he talks like an anti-SJW, but without the right-wing rhetoric and unabashed bigotry. Complete layabout despite being extremely powerful. Sometimes he’ll be helpful, if you compliment him enough.

DEMON! SCHOOL! GIRL! Not sure if that’s an accurate high school uniform, but she’s seventeen and full of violence. SICK of having to hide her true appearance to fit in with her human father’s people. WANTS to UNLEASH the BEAST. (She does love her dad tho.)

Another archivist, but without the Jon Sims energy. He probably works in the mortal realm for the Ministry of Magical Secrecy (MMS), which is basically responsible for making sure humans exposed to magical folk have their memories properly wiped. Cute little fella.

An extremely chill vampire who just loves music, man. Voice like an angel. Only drinks from the willing, but gets pretty frantic when he does so. He’s super embarrassed about it. Probably traumatized, but good luck getting him to talk.

Fallen angel belonging to an organization dedicated to corrupting their divine brethren. Extremely bitter, and maybe a little, uh, unhinged. Absolute edgelord.

This poor guy looks like he’s been through a lot. Probably works a thankless job under someone powerful, but is too timid to ever stand up for himself.

Fucking uuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh catboy.

Idk anything about this one, but he’s either really scary or really clumsy. Look at those wings. Someone got hurt, and it may or may not have been him.

The villain in an anime who’s pulling all the strings and keeps just barely slipping through the protag’s grasp. Big gay energy. Big, “Fighting you completes me!” energy.

Two best friends and one of their big brothers! All characters are adults; the picrew I used for the top two is just really cutesy and I can’t resist cutesy...

The first, Thistle, works at the Museum of Unnatural Science, so called by its reclusive and rather eccentric Owner, and really ought to be one of its exhibitions rather than one of its scant employees. He and his older brother, Phlox, are quite mysterious themselves, but neither liked the idea of being gawked at all day, so Thistle decided to accept the position of tour guide instead. He certainly has the charisma for it, if you can look past his somewhat macabre interests. All that’s really known about he or his brother’s pasts is that their parents died when Thistle was young. Phlox, ten years his senior, raised him as best he could from then on, and it was partially because of this unusual upbringing that Thistle took a job at the museum. It’s the only way he feels he can repay his brother for caring for him single-handedly all those years.

The second, Darcy, is the adopted son of the Owner, and he and Thistle are practically inseparable. Both have a fascination with the darker side of the magical world, particularly its deadliest and most monstrous beings. Originally, Darcy was born into slavery, as catkin are popular toys for the rich and powerful, but his mother was able to slip away for a time and deliver him to the Owner, who she had heard was a staunch advocate against the trade. Darcy’s fortunate to have lived a charmed life, never knowing, as per his mother’s wishes, where he came from. As such, he’s a bright, bubbly fellow who loves cute things and creepy crawlies in equal measure, and tends to drag his best friend into all sorts of shenanigans.

The third is, of course, Phlox, Thistle’s older brother. He looks like a punk, but he’s a hard worker and tends to play the role of the voice of reason for the trio. Like Thistle, Phlox’s interests tend toward the unsettling and mysterious, so he spends most of his free time volunteering at the museum. This typically doesn’t extend beyond keeping an eye on Thistle and Darcy, but as he’s better at behaving like a normal person than his little brother, he’s also become popular with the museum’s patrons. (A few have even tried their hand at courting him, but he always insists he doesn’t have time for romance.) Pros: he knows absolutely everything about the place, so ask him anything. Cons: if you aren’t polite, he gets to eat you.

On the topic of tragedy, this here is Yuki Nakamura, a very sad femboy ghost. I hurt him real bad. :)))

Yuki was a recently licensed nurse at a well-respected hospital in Osaka, until he chose the wrong doctor to idolize. This particular doctor had a nasty habit of preying on young men from Doyamacho, but had grown weary of such easy prey. Taking one of his own coworkers was just the sort of thrill he’d been searching for, and it so happened that sweet, lovesick Yuki was exactly his type.

Being ever so lovesick, Yuki was almost too easy himself. All the doctor had to do was invite him out for drinks after work, and he became as compliant as a lamb. After all, he couldn’t have possibly known that his dream date would end a month of brutal torture later, with his lifeless body being buried beneath the hospital by the man he’d once loved.

The police caught the doctor in quick order, but he never would give up the location of Yuki’s body. That’s how Yuki ended up wandering the halls of the hospital, trapped forever between its sterile walls.

Eventually, the hospital shut down; Yuki’s murderer had killed it too, in a way. He thought that he may be free, that the building might be razed, but it remains to this day, now little more than a skeleton.

Fans of the paranormal visit it often. They are the only enjoyment Yuki finds in death. It’s fun to give them a harmless spook when they come knocking, but he’s always careful never to be caught. Although he longs for a friend, he’s not certain he could ever trust again.

Here, have an incubus with a tragic backstory! :)

The product of a fling between a concubus and a wealthy nobleman, this poor creature has only ever known a life of servitude. Seeing his concubus parent degraded and abused each day instilled a deep sense of self-loathing in him, so that as he grew older, he began to believe that he was good only as a toy for others’ amusement.

Undoubtedly, he has suffered an immense amount of trauma throughout his miserable life, but he hides any fear or pain he may feel behind a flirty smile. At least, he thinks, he’s eating well and making his customers happy--and sometimes they even show him kindness, a brief glimpse into another life, one in which he is truly loved.

His concubus parent gave him a name, a beautiful name, but it has been used so infrequently, by so few people, that he no longer bothers to give it when asked. Instead, he tells his clients to call him what they wish.

Basically, if anyone deserves a knight in shining armor, it’s him.

Here’s a group of troublesome lycanthropes! Daigo is on top, with his pack leader, Kazuo, and Kazuo’s little brother, Yugi, on bottom!

Daigo was a gambling addict who fell so deep into debt with the local gangs that he was forced to flee Tokyo, as he feared for both his life and his pack’s reputation should his debtors discover his connection to them. By some happy coincidence, he ended up in London, where he was picked up by Master, the owner of an extremely popular S&M club (and the light of my life). He set Daigo up with a well-paying job running deliveries for the club, and Daigo was eventually able to overcome his addiction with help from his coworkers.

Then Kazuo showed up to beat the snot out of him.

The previous pack leader, Kazuo and Yugi’s father, had been gravely ill when Daigo disappeared. The added strain of his worry for Daigo and the belief that he had failed one of his pack was too much for his heart to take. When he passed, Kazuo became leader in his stead, and vowed to track Daigo down to exact vengeance.

They had their little spat (right in the middle of Master’s club, no less), but seeing how broken Daigo was at the news of his leader’s passing, Kazuo realized that his old friend had been hurt just as deeply by their separation as he had. Instead of killing Daigo, Kazuo forgave him, and the two made amends.

Yugi was just along for the ride. Well, all right, he’d always had a big crush on Daigo, and London sounded so exotic, he simply had to tag along. Like Daigo, he’s a bit of an airhead, but his stern older brother can typically keep him from doing anything too reckless.

None of them have names, but I have basic concepts for them all--

A famous pop star, and Meep Morp’s idol. He’s come to Earth hoping to prove that his music is the best in the known universe. A bit full of himself, but not a bad guy.

A bounty hunter, also from Meep’s planet. Earth is slowly becoming a bit of a hive of scum and villainy among races with the technology to disguise themselves, so he has his work cut out for him.

Finally, Meep’s rival of sorts. They were always competing as children, so now he’s followed her to Earth to have a better time than her--whatever that means.

A prince running from his responsibilities--and an arranged marriage to a woman he doesn’t love. Thinks Earth boys are cute, would like to live with one in a quaint cottage in the woods.

An absolutely feral fella from an aquatic, carnivorous race living beneath the ice of a distant moon. He’s mostly a danger to himself, but his antics can sometimes lead to widespread annoyance.

Another lunar lad, though of a very different sort, from a very different moon. His father, a cartographer, was purportedly killed by pirates, so he’s taken it upon himself to not only pick up where his father left off, but to search tirelessly for proof that his father is still alive.

I T ’ S  M E E P  M O R P ! ! ! : )

That isn’t her real name, but when I asked for suggestions from my pals, Joe said to call her Meep Morp, so that’s how I’ll refer to her for now! (Other, better suggestions are welcome!)

Meep is a simple gal with two (2) simple missions: learn about the residents of the planet Earth, and have a blast in the process! She loves all things Earthling! From our many different cultures, to our diverse cuisine, to our "retro” technology, everything is just so [unintelligible]!

Thankfully, through the use of her handy-dandy compact, she can blend in just about anywhere, so her new Earthling friends won’t suspect a thing! They probably aren’t ready for the earthshattering revelation that there’s life beyond their tiny solar system! It’s a good thing they all think she’s a clueless exchange student!

Here’s another group of siblings, the Rose brothers, all of them incubus/arcane hybrids!

(Arcane demons in my canon are an ancient breed, one of Lucifer’s earliest successful forays into creation, and so are very powerful. I could go into more detail, but it’s not particularly relevant to this post.)

From top to bottom, left to right, we have--

Arbor Rose: The eldest son, and the heir to their father’s noble title. He is extremely intelligent, well-rounded in his studies, and deeply passionate about his work as heir. However, provided you don’t cross he or his brothers, he’s generally an easygoing man, who spends much of his free time ensuring that his more rambunctious siblings remain on the right side of the prison bars.

Temptation Rose: The second eldest, and much less concerned with politics than his older brother. He would much rather take a nice, long nap than fuss over such trivial matters. With a dreamy disposition and a devil-may-care take on life, he tends to get by in high society with his great beauty alone. As a note, he was named for his grandmother, as the two possess similar powers of manipulation.

Madeira Rose: The eldest of the two middle children, and somehow even less concerned with politics than Temptation. Madeira has rejected the pampered life of a noble, choosing instead to embrace the untamed nature of his ancestors. He is a skilled survivalist, capable of sustaining himself off the land indefinitely, and seemingly unafraid of anything. Typically, he will only show his face at events if Arbor twists his arm, as although he isn’t necessarily unfriendly, he is quite shy.

Vassar Rose: The younger of the two middle children, and an extremely tough nut to crack. Vassar has taken more after his incubus mother than his arcane father, reveling in all things sensual. Yet, unlike Madeira, he has struggled to find his place among his siblings, and as such, has grown increasingly jealous of Arbor’s position. He is constantly striving to outdo Arbor, and is aggressively competitive toward anyone he views as a threat. For some reason, he detests mortals.

Capri Rose: The fifth son, and the family’s resident flower child. Without the burden of the heirship on his shoulders, he has been free to cultivate a kind, somewhat naive personality. He sees no reason to compete with his siblings, as he is highly unlikely to ever inherit any amount of power. Instead, he spends his days communing with nature, caring for the wildlife on the family estate, and tending to his own small garden.

Colony Rose: The youngest, and the most mischievous by far. As a young demon, his primary concern is living life to its fullest. What this means varies between individuals, of course, but for Colony, its meaning is freedom. He does as he pleases--everything from wooing married men, to playing childish pranks on his noble peers. Understandably, his poor behavior causes Arbor a great deal of stress, and the two clash often over Colony’s numerous escapades, not all of which have been strictly legal.

I’ve tried out a couple of different names and ideas for them, but nothing’s really stuck. Let’s run through them, top to bottom, left to right--

Top Left: He was originally a Tokyo-Ghoul-style ghoul, but now I’m leaning more towards deep-sea merrow, possibly a goblin shark. He’s a tender little thing, extremely affectionate, compassionate, and inquisitive. Unfortunately, he’s also very clumsy, hence the bandages.

Top Right: This one’s obviously a kemonomini--or as they’re known in my canon, beastkin. (DON’T LAUGH, YOU FUCKING FURRIES.) I’d say cat, maybe fox, but I’m open to suggestions. Looking at him, he’s probably pretty cutesy, maybe the slightest bit materialistic, but I don’t think he has a bad heart.

Bottom Left: Clearly an alicorn. Going off his somber expression, he’s not as outgoing as the previous two--and who could blame him? Unicorns were hunted to near-extinction by mortals in the Middle Ages, and he’s the rarest of them all. I’d imagine he lives alone, in a wilderness yet unsullied by man, and will only show himself to those whose intentions are pure.

Bottom Right: I’ve just had an idea for this one, and as usual, it’s tragic. On the surface, he’s a singer, a songbird if you will--but behind the scenes, he’s the prisoner of a wealthy, immoral crime lord, who exploits him for money and pleasure. I’d peg him as the motherly type, always putting the needs of others above his own. If one of his coworkers gets in trouble with the boss, he’ll gladly take their licks for them.
