this ‘blonde’ gentoo penguin is part of a wild colony in antartica. the penguin is affected by a condition called leucism, a reduction in pigments in the bird’s feathers that leads to the overall paler look. while birds with leucism rarely survive for long, the last report about this penguin indicated it had survived for over three years.
