#i've been so much more at peace since i blocked an ex friend #not because i was checking up on them but because THEY kept checking up on ME #i could see them watching my public stories and it gave me so much anxiety about what i shared and did or didnt want them to see #i wanted to tell them to stop and that they needed to let go and move on but i didnt want to reinstate contact with them so i blocked them #and i've felt so much better for it

I am not that old, and I didn't have a smartphone until probably late high school. For most of my life, many if not most people were not walking around with a magic internet machine in their pocket that they pulled out and used constantly for everything.
