I've seen so many people complain about the audience noise (especially during the Bill Murray streams) lately that I really, really hope the people who go to their shows keep that in mind from now on. If you're a SFTH fan that goes to a show at any point in the future, PLEASE be mindful of your behaviour. And don't be afraid to keep your friends in check too. Nobody reasonable has any problem with someone that has a unique laugh or that needs to cough or that lets out a noise of genuine surprise once. But if you catch yourself or your friends reacting audibly a lot, if you feel the need to shout things out without being prompted to do so, or if you try to start conversations with the guys while they're on stage, please reel it in. And by starting conversations I obviously don't mean answering them when they ask you a question, I mean things like telling them that the book you're handing them is from person xyz while handing them books during book game or other stuff. Nobody but you and your friends cares - that's something you can tell the guys after the show!

Their shows should be enjoyable for and accessible to everyone, not just die hard fans that are there in person. There are always casual fans or new people at their shows that will be alienated by insiders and constant interruptions and it sucks when Patreon members that do not get to see their shows in person have trouble following because every line is interrupted with an "aw" just because a character is vaguely cute.

I debated sending this in anonymously to one of the confession blogs, but you know what: I stand by this. And as a person who is one of the Patreon members who doesn't rewatch some livestreams or skips some games during rewatch because of the audience, this is important to me. If I was the only one that felt this way, I'd just accept it, but this comes up a lot. I do not mean to attack anyone and I genuinely don't know if this is a small group of regulars that are particularly loud or if this is just the energy that a lot of SFTH fans have that gets amplified once one person in the room starts, but if you feel like this could apply to you or someone you know, please be more considerate. And just generally be aware of theatre etiquette. And there's a lot I love about a live audience btw. There are some amazing moments where the audience sings along or cheers and I loved the moment when they shouted "Pee, ah no!" along with Luke when the others still didn't get it in that one confession game. Just don't overdo it, that's all I and others are asking!

I completely agree with this. Some of the more recent longforms I just haven't been able to get into BECAUSE of the audience feeling like they need to react to EVERY. SINGLE. LINE. Like, I get that people are having fun but if you look at some of their older stuff times when the audience all gasped or went "AWW" were just so much more impactful because they WEREN'T doing it every other line. And maybe it really is just a small group of us complaining about nothing but sometimes it just really gets on my nerves.

Not every single thing needs a reaction to it, let the conversations flow without interupting to aww at something a tiny bit cute PLEASE.

Not so friendly reminder that the guys have literally said they can't stand hecklers. So if you think you're being funny or cool or innovative or in the right for shouting things out unprompted, you're wrong. They think you fucking suck, they just won't say it to your face because they're polite and you give them money.

And no, heckling doesn't just mean shouting out insults. Heckling means ANYTHING that people shout out without being asked, even if it's supposed to be a compliment. Just shut up unless told otherwise. Thank you.

Honestly, some people need the reality check that the people they stan are going to disappoint them eventually. I'm glad I've been in fandom spaces long enough to be aware that I won't always agree with all of the takes the guys have. I've already had situations where I thought "not cool/appropriate" or "yikes" or "that was unnecessary" or disagreed with an opinion and I genuinely don't think I would've become a fan if I had discovered them during their covid livestream era (the livestreams are very funny, but without the context I have now, some things would've bothered me too much to keep watching back then).

But so far, nothing has happened that made me reconsider supporting them and everything I've actually considered worth criticising so far ended up having a plausible explanation or wasn't a big enough deal for me to get upset over. And I hope that it stays that way, but at the end of the day, we don't really know them (and hell, even people you think you know can surprise you). It's healthy not to elevate people too much. If you find yourself thinking "AJ/Luke/Sam/Tom would never do X" or your knee-jerk reaction to criticism is defending them or trying to find ways to dismantle said criticism rather than considering if it could be valid or if you take every word they say as gospel, then that's definitely what you're doing. If you love someone or something, a bit of criticism or disliking some aspects of it is very, very healthy and you should still be able to question people you love. It only stops being healthy when you start criticising and hating on pretty much everything - then you should move on.
