Hey, the name's Lawrence West Pilgrim. You can call me Lawrence, or Lawrence West if you want to. I have a total jerk for a brother- you may know him. He's Scott Pilgrim. "Well, I don’t see that happening…" Matthew sat at the bar, looking a little guilty. After all, he was part of the group that had “tried" to “kill" Scott Pilgrim. That was quite a while ago, though, an they were past that, right?

"Ah, yeah, that makes sense. I can get you something non-alcoholic though if you want. I walked here, so if you really wanted I could drive you home. Whatever you want to do, though." He leaned forward to rest his elbows on the counter, looking at the large selection of drinks behind the bar.

"Alright, that sounds good." he said. "I mean the non-alcoholic drink. I don't want to have you drive me home cause I was an idiot and got drunk." Lawrence mused out.

"How've you been doing anyways?" he asked, making small talk with Mattie. After all, they needed to catch up.

Matthew sat up when he saw Lawrence enter. He put his phone away and got up to go meet him. “Hey, you made it," he said. “It’s kind of dead right now, but knowing Gideon and his … networking it’s gonna get pretty crowded later."

He led him back over to the bar to sit, since the place was basically empty. “Do you want a drink or something?"

"I bet." he said, rolling his eyes somewhat. "Let's make sure Scott doesn't die this time alright?" he said, half joking. Last time Gideon hosted a party that happened. Who knows, he might do it again.

"Maybe." he said. "I don't wanna be off my rockers cause I got to drive home so..." he didn't know where to lead that sentence off. "Yea."

Matthew watched the two of them talk. It was weird seeing Julie happy like that, honestly. She and Lynette must be a good match for each other, somehow. He tilted his head and pondered the couple for a moment more before turning back to the bar. He pulled out his phone and wondered if there was anyone he could text that would actually be coming. If Lawrence was going to come, he’d probably already be working on it. He opened up a message, typed "Hey, are you coming to the party at the CT?" and hit send.

Lawrence actually was debating on whether or not to arrive at the party. He wasn't personally invited but felt obligated to go since Scott went and Matthew did too. He was struggling on what to wear, he didn't want to appear too patriotic like them Americans after all.

He received a text and his phone made a small bing sound. What a lovely little sound. Makes you think like you're wanted when you hear it. He flipped it and checked who it was from. Obviously Matthew. He replied back quickly, his fingers tapping out the message.

[Text]: I'll be there soon. [Text]: I'm having wardrobe problems. [Text]: See you there.

He debated on whether or not to send a little heart with that message and decided against it. He didn't want to seem too clingy after all. He finally decided to just wear a pair of white jeans along with a shirt sporting the maple leaf on it. He drove on to the Chaos Theatre and strolled inside.

"Wow, what a party." he said in a snark attitude. "It's really lively in here."

Upon hearing his name, Matthew turned and saw Lawrence coming up to him. “Hey, Lawrence… What are you doing here?”

Oh, right, Matthew. Like there were really more than one reason a person would be at a movie theater. Soooo slick.

“I mean— Which movie did you see? Yeah.”

He was about to reply about seeing a movie and then went ahead to say which movie he went and saw. "Well I saw uh..that new movie, that new Pirate of the Carribean one. Fair enough it wasn't completely new but I still haven't watched it." he said, musing a small chuckle.

"And uh, you Mattie? Which movie did you see?" he asked, smiling. Maybe if he knew his movie tasted they wouldn't have to watch terrible Nick Cage movies. Which in fairness they were alright.

Matthew blinked, his eyes adjusting from the darkness of the theater he was just now exiting. He tossed his empty popcorn bucket in the trash can and headed for the door. 

He had just attended the midnight showing of The Bling Ring, the year’s newest chick flick (but it was also a crime film!), and now he was ready to head home and go to bed.

Lawrence never really got out much. If he did though it was because he was a complete dork who had some  movies he wanted to watch. Sure it was late, but unlike Scott he was responsible enough to get home and go to work later.

The movie was over. It was obviously a different one than what Matthew had went to watch. Probably because he wasn't all that into chick flicks. Sure they were alright, just not his type of movie.

When he got out he stretched his arm. After all, sitting in one place for a few hours did make one a bit stiff in the joints. He yawned and looked around the place. He noticed Matthew and wondered what he was doing here. Welp maybe he should go ahead and approach and ask him. And so he did.

"Hey! Mattie!"

“What? That’s crazy. I would never break up with Stephen, that’s silly. I guess it’s fine if I have a pretty famous girlfriend. Why do I hate your brother though? Is he a bad person? Should I just avoid him when I get older?” Julie was genuinely concerned, unsure of why she would hate anyone who wasn’t ‘evil’ in some way.

“Also how are you gonna get me to be back in my regular age again? What if I don’t wanna be a twenty-two year old yet?”

"You don't really hate him I guess you just argue with him a lot. No he's not a bad person. His attitude just needs work on. "I wouldn't say avoid him but definitely avoid any big conversation and relationship lives with him." Lawrence kept smiling even though in the inside he was annoyed by the pestering questions.

"I don't know I expect this is just some hallucination or a dream or whatever but I guess we'll find a way. You're gonna become Twenty Two in time and you'll do it whether you like it or not. Staying as a kid isn't as good as you'd think it is Julie."

“A girlfriend? There’s no way I have a girlfriend, silly. I’m obviously gonna marry my best friend Stephen when I grow up.” Julie gave up reaching her arms out for Lawrence to pick her up, flinging her arms around his neck. “…Is she cute at least? Does she like me?”

Lawrence made a blank face at Julie. She would be in store for quite a tale when she finds out that Stephen and her broke up a multitude of times. "Actually you and Stephen don't work together that well in the future. You get together, break up, get together, break up, repeating it over for a while and eventually he turns gay." he shrugged at her other question.

"Well she's pretty I guess because it's like your personal take on the person. And yeah I can say she likes you, she's also famous."

“Do I get to be something cool when I grow up? Am I super famous and popular?” Julie grinned, happy that she’d found someone she knew who was willing to talk to her and hang out with her for a while. Now that she had company, she wanted to find out everything she could about the adult version of herself that Lawrence claimed to know.

Waiting for a response, Julie walked closer to Lawrence, holding her arms out for him to pick her up. “I hope I’m happy and I have a lot of cool friends and throw a bunch of awesome parties!”

Lawrence had heard he was noisy as a child but he never imagined that this was what his parents could mean by noisy. He thought that it was the terrible twos that were bad not the damn freaky fives or whatever.

"Well let's see," he said. "When you grow up yes you do have a lot of parties, pretty much all of Toronto hears about them and if someone's famous you get them over to your party. You have two best friends names Sandra and Monique, Sandra's kind of a klutz and Monique is kind of a putz. You also have a friend you hate and like named Scott, my brother, and you have a girlfriend named Lynette if I recall."

Julie became teary-eyed, reminded that she couldn’t find anyone in her home when she woke up. “I’m not home because no one’s home! If people were at home I would be there! That’s why I went looking for someone ..and I found you!!” 

“I don’t know what a bigot is but I hope it’s not anything bad.. I don’t want anyone to be mean to me.”

"Well yeah I guess so.." he said quickly. "And a bigot isn't a bad thing don't worry." he half lied. Sure being a fanatic wasn't bad but being a fanatic about being a bitch on the other hand.

"Well I guess I could look after you for a while until we can figure out how to get you back normal or whatever."

“Not yet…” Matthew murmured. 

A few stops later, and they’d arrived. He got out and leaned in, shakily taking Lawrence’s hands. He tugged gently on them, hoping he’ll do a good enough job of leading him where they needed to go. “C-Come on.”

"Alright Matthew." Lawrence got out of the cab they were in and closed it a little harder than he thought he did. He mumbled an oops before they headed into the building. Once inside he moved his head around listening for the receptionist desk or anywhere they could get help "I hope it's not a long wait till someone gets over to help."

“I’ve never been twenty two, what are you talking about? How old are you anyways, like a million?” She gave a small pout and crossed her arms. “Look, I’m just tryin’ to find some person to hang out with because I don’t know where my parents are or any of my friends,”

He looked at her quite puzzled. "Well first things first you mam why aren't you home then? Second of all yes you were Twenty two an to be quite frank a huge bi-" Lawrence changed the word halfway. "-got."

Matthew nodded and led him carefully outside as the cab pulled up. He opened the door, nudged him in. He slid into the seat himself, and shut the door. He pulled out some money and held it out to the cab driver. The driver took it and Matthew jerked his hand back, huddling close to Lawrence now as the car took off to the hospital.

Lawrence couldn't see what was going on so he couldn't tell if Matthew was worrying or something. Whatever it was it was probably nothing big. Although he guessed on the off chance he did become blind it would be a big thing. He didn't even know i he was near the hospital. Every time the cab came to a stop he would assume they were at the hospital but knew they weren't because of the fact Matthew didn't get out. "Are we there yet?" he asked.

“What are you talking about? I’ve always been a kid, dummy!” She stuck her tongue out at Lawrence, less afraid of him now that he’d addressed her by name and had gone to the trouble of kneeling down to her height.

Lost Generation.

I’m a part of Lost Generation

and I refuse to believe that

I can change the world

I realize this may be a shock but

is a lie, and

“Money will make me happy”

So in thirty years I’ll tell my children

My employer will know that

Julie woke up acting considerably different than her usual self. In addition to her change in attitude, she had also started seeing things differently. For starters, everything seemed a lot bigger than it had been. Even her hair seemed longer, her bangs hanging in front of her face and blocking some of her vision. Unfortunately, her memory wasn’t the best in her current state and she didn’t realize any change had occurred at all.

She’d felt oddly terrified when she found she was alone in her apartment, and had gone for a walk when she spotted Scott’s brother. She found she didn’t have a clue what to say to him - after all, he was bigger than she remembered, and because of this, scarier to talk to. Instead of talking, she ran after him, tugging at his pants once she’d caught up.

Lawrence stared at the kid tugging on his pants. He eyed he curiously, she looked familiar. Those glasses that Auburn hair. Could it be Julie Powers? He knelt down to take a better look at her squinting his eyes before finally getting the willpower to ask.

"Julie Powers? Can it truly be?" he looked at her. It was definitely Julie even if she appeared to be a kid. What five maybe six at best? He just stared at her unamused. "Why are you a kid. Is this some trick."
