there are pieces of myself i have struggled to reconcile. now that i handle them gently, they finally fit.

my younger self forced (unsuccessfully) my intelligence, ambition, and creativity into alignment with values that were not my own.

i fronted these qualities while harshly judging and masking (unsuccessfully) those deemed less valuable by certain forces in this world: slowness, sensitivity, romance~

this was killing me. to escape, I turned myself inside out! i nurtured my neglected parts while leaving the rest to burn. but the smoke is finally clearing!

fresh air: my former and current selves do not need to contradict and in fact can live quite harmoniously. of course we can; we are all me.

i am learning to peer through the cracked lenses of broken systems and incomplete perspectives with neutral curiosity. i can glean, or not, from others’ visions, but peace resides in my own:

in this life i will channel every glimmering facet of my being into what i value. (Love.) what i offer. (Truth.) what i desire. (Art.)
