This sideblog is dedicated to all my omegaverse related thoughts, opinions, interactions, etc. I plan to keep this blog generally sfw, but I'll still reblog and post hc's about anatomy and sex in omegaverse— I just plan to keep this blog generally free of explicit content, smut, and kink within the sphere. I have nothing against that omegaverse content btw (VERY much the opposite). It just won't be here! This also means I won't be responding to interactions of that nature here either.

This may sound nipticky, but I fucking despise when in an omegaverse story where the Alpha and the omega have a child, the omega is automatically refered as the "mother" even thought he is a man. Like, just say that the kid has two dads, its not that harddddd.

This is exactly why I use different parental terms

Omega = oma/omi/dam

Beta = tata/eta

Alpha = appa/pa/sire

Now I am still thinking of a secret third thing for betas, mostly bc gender neutral parental terms that roll off the tongue are,,,, hard to find lol. Some of the ideas I've had so far; nepo, ani (like ancestor lol), begat, dome (pronounced with a hard e like dom-ee) or domus (meaning home in Latin), but idk if I like any of these

Anyway,

Dam/sire are the equivalent to Mother/Father in the sense that they're the respectful terms. You'll find rich British kids in your favorite TV shows referring to their parents that way, while the average person would probably use it sparingly

I don't have a difference for "baby" terms compared to more adult ones so ex. Mommy vers Mom, daddy vers dad, but I could definitely see oma being shortened to just ma in the same way appa is shortened to pa, but I'm not a big fan of how it just feels like we're doing mom and dad again.

Girl groups, boy groups and bands and the interesting dramas and controversies that could arise due to secondary related or pack related speculations and misconceptions. I think in omegaverse if you try to bond without having the emotional connection/arent ready it makes the whole process grotesque and dreadful. The blood makes your stomach churn, the bite is an open wound of nerves that won’t stop aching to the pounding of your heart.

I understand the point you're trying to make, bur some Omegas dont like nesting, it's not always a bad thing if they dont nest.

Okay, I get that some Omegas don't like the process of building nests, or might decide they dont really want to do it (tho I will say, I find the concept of "semi-nests" bullshit. It's still just a nest. It doesn't need to look like a stereotypical nest to still be a nest- You think I can make big thick nests with quilts and fluffy blankets in summer in Brasil?? No. Doesn't mean its not a nest just because I use lighter materials, or a non traditional configuration).

But none of this matters when we talk about recently presenting omegas. Yes, older omegas can choose to not nest if they want, or to nest in smaller ways that are more comfortable to them, but that is not the case for recently presented omegas, its fucking vital for them to nest for their hormone regulation (just like its important that they fucking. Sleep.), but also, if we were giving kids the proper time and space to develop pack bonds like they should, for their Alpha and Beta peers, who should be napping in those nests and all helping each other regulate.

If a young omega isnt nesting thats bad fucking news for their development. Its always a bad thing and a sign that something is seriously wrong.

Honestly it's insane how much discomfort we casually just expect young people to deal with. And by insane I mean its fucking insane

Like, these are the years where your body is in development (and then afterwards, when you're adapting to your body in completely new places) and we just expect young people to suddenly be perfect representations of the shit stereotypes of their gender while also being overwhelmed by work, having to get up stupid early (in a period of their life where sleep is insanely important!!!) and being given no comfort or safety. Oh, and obviously they need to stop doing all of the shit they did as pups to comfort themselves immediately after they present. Because that makes fucking sense.

And then people call kids lazy for absolutely collapsing in the weekends and not having the energy to go out (AND FORM THE VERY IMPORTANT BONDS THEY SHOULD BE MAKING RIGHT NOW.)

There's studies showing that this kinda stress is so bad that recently presented Omegas won't nest out of stress. Like I've already talked aboit how fucked young Alphas and Betas can get from the expectations placed on them but how can we stress people to the point where Omegas are not nesting and think that's okay.

What do you think of the upcoming release of scents in advertising? Do you think it will have any more impact than the smells added to ads in stores to make the priduct more appealing, but with the appeal being to your hindbrain instead? I always disliked the smelly ads myself.

There are literally so many issues with this idea I don't even know where to start. Artificial scents suck, they could make someone sick, they could give people (especially pups!) allergic reactions, they get even worse on already crowded spaces, they literally suck

And to put it on an Ad??? On a fucking ad???

Imagine being on the subway stuck with one of those monstrosities? Imagine how it would be like on a space with even just two of those types of ads at the same time?

And that's not even touching on how unethical it is to try and make you buy a shit product not by its quality but by fucking with your inner. That could get people so seriously sick

I just remembered this (I was scrolling back to find the post), but an update. I don't think any companies went ahead with this plan, but no regulations have been passed to prohibit them. I encourage everyone to go here to sign a petition to make scented ads illegal
