Japanese rhinoceros beetle, drawing in my sketchbook.
Scraps, 2023. Oil on canvas.
I had been thinking a lot about food waste when I was a baker. The amount of scrap dough that we’d create - some of it would get used in the next days batch, but only a small fraction of it. The rest I’d drag to the dumpster and hope that the thin black garbage bag wouldn’t burst before I made it there.
Sketchbooks with cyanotype covers that I did last summer, one with a Coptic stitch and toned mixed media paper, the other with a full spine and watercolour paper.
Lino print animal skull patches! 🦊🐀🦇🐦⬛
Something about growth where you nurture it, grass is greener where you water it, etc.
Lighter still life in oil. Teeny tiny painting because at the time I had just bought new teeny tiny brushes
A moth I took a photo of while I was in Japan, can’t get over how beautiful the pattern is
Unfired sculptures I made for class in 2021. For scale, the fist was life sized
Reductive Linocut print of a dragonfly, using a neat duo chrome ink for the base layer that shifts from purple to green.
I was feeling intimidated by the wings, but I actually had a blast carving them out.
And then you had that dream again.

Practicing self portraits in front of my bedroom mirror. Every time I draw myself I get closer and closer to figuring out what I actually look like.
