Habitat biochrome images in the incidence exhibition on the Gold Coast:

Lmtdspace’s fourth show, incidence, brings together the work of Renata Buziak, Kim Demuth, Celise Gibson and Henri van Noordenburg. The artists, each with their own techniques and material processes, explore, push and pull at the boundaries of contemporary photo-media practice. Habitat exhibition review in Lucida Magazine  by Gordon Craig, an artist, writer and curator based in Brisbane. He is currently the Project Manager at The University of Queensland Art Museum and Chair of the Queensland Centre for Photography Board, as well as a member of the Print Council of Australia Committee.

How to attract wildlife to your garden.

a free public talk by Peter Storer

Abstract: Since moving to Australia in 1989, Peter’s keen interest in all types of wildlife led to a passion for growing native plants to attract them, and he has been an active member of the Society for Growing Australian Plants (SGAP) for over 20 years. During his talk, entitled ‘From paddock to diverse wildlife habitat garden: a 10-year journey,’ Peter will describe the principles he used to revegetate a typical Samford block (open pasture) to create a wildlife haven that abounds with birds,mammals, reptiles, frogs, butterflies and other invertebrates. He has planted well over 9000 plants from 650 native species and cultivars in a range of habitat groupings – rainforest, wet and dry eucalypt forest and even a coastal garden. Several new bird species now breed on the property and remain year round. The principles outlined can be adapted to suit a garden of almost any size.
