Lovingly blessed to have been created by God I can gratefully know the greatest blessing is God Himself is the One who made us all - For Himself! And He gave us Jesus. Oatmeal Cookies ^^

I made oatmeal cookies! Was having a craving and decided to just make them, and they turn out really good (especially the amount of adjustments I had to make-). I'll write down the recipe I used if you want to bake it yourself!

(Do keep in mind that a lot is done by heart QwQ)

Notice: Recipe makes 16-18 cookies if you follow instructions. May be more or less, depending on how big you make them.

Ingredients:

1 ½ of multi-purpose flour

1/2 tps baking soda

A mixture of 1 tps of baking soda and the juice of half a lime.

≈ 3 dashes of salt (go with your heart)

2 ¼ cups of instant oats

1 ½ cups of granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 ½ sticks of butter (preferably room temperature)

≈ 1 tbsp of honey (once again, heart)

Any add-ins you'd like (raisins, chocolate, nuts, etc) <- optional!!!

Materials:

A mixer OR 1 average sized bowl and a spatula + hands

Measuring cups

Measuring spoons

A normal spoon, fork, or butter knife

A regular cup or mug

At least one baking tray (depending how big it is will be how many cookies you can make at a time. I used to large metal baking sheets.)

Parchment paper

An oven.

Before anything : In the cup, mix the 1 tps baking soda and the lime juice (it'll fizz, but that is normal, don't worry).

On your baking sheet(s), place parchment paper.

Set your oven to 325 °F.

Step 1: In the bowl, first put in the sugar, then the honey, and your butter. Mix it until it forms a sort of sticky dough paste.

Step 2: Add the egg and the vanilla into the paste. Mix. (It will be a bit liquidy, but that's okay.)

Step 3: Now, put in your flour, salt, baking soda-lime mixture, and lone baking soda. Mix until dough is actually like a dough. It'll be sticky, but overall firm.

Step 3 ½: If you have any add-ins, mix it into the dough.

Step 4: Add in all your oatmeal and mix. Make sure the oatmeal is mixed thoroughly, as even throughout the dough as possible (basically no areas where too much clumps together).

Step 5: Make the dough into approximately 1 inch balls. Place them on the pan with at least one inch in between each cookie ball.

Step 6: Once done with all your cookie balls, place into the oven. Leave it for 14-20 minutes in the oven or until golden brown.

Step 7: Let cool for at least 5 minutes so you don't burn yourself!

Step 8: Enjoy :D

Fun fact: When I made my cookies, I didn't have baking powder, so with some googling, I made the lime mixture to replace it! It worked really well.

Feast With God In The Beauty of His Creation

Today’s Sermonette

One of the greatest gifts God has given humanity is the ability to enjoy His creation.

From the sunrise that announces a new day to the gentle breeze that refreshes the soul, every part of creation bears witness to the goodness, wisdom, and generosity of our Creator.

The psalmist reminds us that God is the One who causes the grass to grow, provides food for both people and animals, and fills our lives with blessings that strengthen, satisfy, and gladden our hearts.

This passage teaches us that God is not merely interested in our survival. He delights in our joy. He is a loving Father who richly provides everything we need to enjoy life according to His will.

In our modern world, life often moves at a relentless pace. Meals are hurried, conversations are interrupted, and quiet moments have become increasingly rare.

We rush from one responsibility to another, often forgetting to pause and recognise the hand of God in the ordinary blessings that surround us every day.

Jesus Himself frequently withdrew to quiet places to pray and commune with His Father (Luke 5:16). Throughout Scripture, mountains, gardens, lakesides, and deserts became places where God met with His people.

While God is present everywhere, there is something uniquely refreshing about slowing down and reflecting on His greatness through the beauty of His creation.

The heavens declare His glory (Psalm 19:1). The birds testify to His faithful provision (Matthew 6:26). The flowers display His creativity and care (Matthew 6:28-30).

Every tree, every flower, every gentle breeze, and every song of the birds reminds us that our heavenly Father watches over His creation, and if He cares so wonderfully for nature, how much more does He care for you?

Taking time to enjoy a simple meal outdoors can become more than recreation. It can become an act of worship. As you sit quietly beneath God’s sky, thank Him for every blessing on your table.

Savour each bite with gratitude, recognising that every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1:17). Allow the stillness to quiet your anxious thoughts and open your heart to hear His gentle voice.

Many of life’s greatest spiritual lessons are learned not in moments of busyness but in moments of stillness. When we intentionally slow down, we begin to notice what we have overlooked.

We see God’s fingerprints in creation, His faithfulness in daily provision, and His love in the countless blessings we too often take for granted.

Whether it is a picnic in a local park, a quiet walk through the countryside, or simply sitting in your garden with an open Bible, use these moments to draw closer to the Lord.

Let creation lift your eyes from the pressures of life to the greatness of the One who created all things.

Today, make time to enjoy God’s presence as much as you enjoy His provision. As you feast on the food He provides, feast also on His Word.

As you breathe the fresh air He created, breathe in His peace. As you admire His handiwork, allow your heart to overflow with worship and thanksgiving.

The Creator is waiting to meet with you in the beauty of His creation.

Father, thank You for the beauty of Your creation and for the countless blessings You pour into my life each day. Forgive me for becoming so busy that I often overlook Your goodness and fail to appreciate the simple gifts You have provided. Teach me to slow down, to rest in Your presence, and to see Your hand in every part of creation. Fill my heart with gratitude, renew my strength, and help me to worship You not only in church but also through the quiet moments I spend enjoying the world You have made. May every blessing draw me closer to You and cause my heart to praise Your holy Name. In Jesus’ mighty Name, Amen.
