For the antisemitism, I think it’s just that the Pines are subtly implied to be Jewish but Alex Hirsch hasn’t confirmed it because he likes things to be ambiguous. Apparently it’s antisemitism if it’s not said out loud. Just a possibility, though.

But after all, this is from the same fandom that once said that because the Love God wore a trans symbol in storyboards and because he and Dipper have the same hairstyle, obviously Dipper must be trans.

Ah, yes. I remember now.

After someone posted this tweet on tumblr, I recall someone in the fandom tag basically throwing a shitfit, and demanding “representation”, as if they’re entitled to the show changing just for them.

The thing is, it’s Hirsch’s show, and includes characters based on his family and friends. It’s up to him what he wants to do with those characters. And, always remember: He knows about the fandom. He knows about tumblr. He knows about Pinecest, Parapines, and GFG. He is not above mocking the things the fandom does–

–nor is he above mocking tumblr itself.

And he is DEFINITELY not above lurking on 4chan, and spreading a fake “leaked” spoiler.

This is what makes Hirsch himself such an entertaining person. He says and does what he wants, because it’s his show. He appreciates the fan base, but if people are acting entirely full of shit, he’s going to call them out on it. You think he’s afraid of pissing people off?

Hirsch doesn’t give a single fuck about anyone being “offended”, so any such claims are not only likely to fall on deaf ears, but run the chance of being openly ridiculed. Alex Hirsch does not give one shit, two shits, red shits, or blue shits.

Why, only the man who took a boy under his wing and did his best to help raise him when his father left him.

The man who spent thirty years of his life toiling away in some basement with very little knowledge of what he was doing or how- to save his brother, whom he hasn’t seen for many years prior.

The man who took two MORE children under his wing, despite having many secrets and the ever-present possibility that Dipper and Mabel may somehow find Stan Pines Dead.

Especially as he was forced to keep his own newstory and IDs in his office to make sure he had a backup plan, right under said children’s nosy noses.

The man that was forced to live alone in a car for ten years out of his father’s spite.

Whose whole world could be kept in three photographs.

Who killed himself in his own mind.

And then killed his mind. All for those three pictures.

Stanley freaking Pines, everybody.
