me, no beers in: the best moment of misha’s life is forever inextricably tied to the worst moment of ilia’s. and in that moment, ilia went to misha before anyone else. these two young men, forced by their sport to grow up too fast, yet retaining so much childish joy and whimsy about them. literally and figuratively speaking each other’s language. two sons of champions from ex-soviet nations, the same age but born half a world away from each other, each trying to make their mark as their parents did before them. each carrying the weight of knowing they’re their countries’ only hope. each sometimes succeeding and sometimes failing at living up to those expectations. two boys on parallel tracks in life whose names will always be written side by side in history.

tereyaglikedi asked how far Misha's 3A travels. Reddit doesn't let me post anything, so I answer here. At Worlds 2023 his 3A won 1 place (over 4A of Ilia). And that was pretty small 3A for Mikhail Shaidorov (he spent 5-6 weeks in hospital instead of grand prix that season). His 3a in historic combo must be 4.5 m.
