Bird Buddies // Quick-on-the-Trigger, RainbowPinions, & PinionedWings
pinionedwings:
The best thing Kazu could do right now, was to bury the feelings which had begun to develop, bury them, never let them see the light of day again, they were of no use to him, nothing would come of them but hurt so… they’d be buried and forgotten about.
The best he could do, was put on a smile and let it go, make a joke, make it seem like nothing. He figured Masao probably wouldn’t be fooled though, Masao had knowledge of wings, how they moved, reacted to things, no matter how he trained his expression, the wings would give it away, the subtle twitches, the drooping in .
And he couldn’t. hide. them.
“Nothing on this ship is done the sexy way” he mock-huffed while turning on his heel to head back toward the door “—it’s ridiculous, we should all just have an orgy and be done with it” the words spoken not at all matching the expression he wore, the expression of uncertainty he hid from the young medic, uncertainty in his own resolve, in his own acceptance of this whole idea, this was going to hurt, he was willingly going into a situation where he’d definitely be hurt.
May not be as bad when the time came for Chelle to actually do something, but… hurt was a definite incoming. He tugged the door open, pausing to glance over his shoulder at the medic “Just make sure Chelle doesn’t poison my food” He was the bad guy now, leaving that room, he’d immediately became the bad guy, and only Masao would know he wasn’t.
Wonderful.
Yeah, there was no way this was okay in the parrot’s mind. Masao knew that. It didn’t take an engineer to know how ti read people, and it certainly didn’t take his many years of practice to figure this one out. Watching Kazu... hurt. Far more than he would have thought a person outside of their crew could make him feel. It was disorienting at its least, and heavily guilt tripping at its greatest.
Next time he would learn to keep his mouth shut. Seriously.
That smile was watched and not believed for a second, tanned arms crossing over Masao’s exposed chest as his eyes followed their guest critically. “You don’t have to do this, y’know. If it’s going to hurt you that much it’d be better if you just didn’t. I don’t need the captain getting upset with me for being rude to a guest, and I doubt he needs your captain getting upset at me.”
Kazu’s words weren’t quite accurate. “Plenty of things are done the sexy way. You just don’t see them out in the open.” And yet here was the bird not looking like he intended to stop, despite the words being used to cover up how much this was affecting him. If he didn’t assume differently he’d think the guy felt like he had some kind need to help when really nothing was trying to make him.
“He won’t. I make sure of it, if you’re actually set on doing this. We could always just see what happens.” Couldn’t be long yet. Chelle was busy trying to drink and smoke his way into a coma, while Colm sat worriedly to the side wishing he’d not. Surely one of them would break soon.
