Shriv/Duros headcannons I will believe in till the day I die:
His mom made him a sweater once when he was little, and his siblings still tease him about it to this day.
His dad was a mechanic and taught him how to fix and fly ships (knowledge that's pretty common to teach in Duros) and influenced Shriv's love for travel.
When Shriv was wee little, he wanted to see space so badly that when he was old enough (about 7 or 8 years old), his dad took him out into space and turned off the artificial gravity, letting him float around and stare out at the stars beyond his home planet (I imagine the 'Having a Moment' scene from Project Hail Mary). It was one of the most magical and unforgettable moments he ever had.
He had a little lisp as a kid. Couldn't pronounce his r's, and he said 'with' as 'wif', but it got better as his Basic improved.
His mom wanted him to learn Durese before Basic since it's a slowly dying language (another headcannon I have).
Duros culture is similar to South American/Latin American culture.
There ain't no party like a Duros party.
Shriv has a N A S T Y side eye (you can feel when he's side-eyeing you). Inherited it from his mother.
He has seven siblings. 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He's the youngest.
Don't even try to count how many nieces and nephews he has.
He joined the Rebellion when he saw how the Empire was treating the people of his home planet. His mother was furious because she couldn't bear to think about her son dying alone in combat.
He was there to witness both Death Stars blow up.
Shriv has complex, deep-rooted PTSD and survivors guilt. Has cried himself to sleep on multiple occasions.
If you put him in a compression shirt, his pecs and biceps become highlighted (mmm, Duros man titties, Ditties?), and if he crosses his arms? I'm dropping my pants.
