“so-” he took a deep breath in as he paused, placing his homework and pen down onto the bed and eventually turning himself towards her. “-i’ve been wanting to talk to you about something. i just wasn’t sure how to bring it up before. and to be honest, i don’t really know how to bring it up now. but i know i need to do something.” because if he didn’t, and it got worse, then he would feel like he was to blame. even if that wasn’t and wouldn’t be the case. but it wasn’t like she would be to blame either. no one would be. it would just be something that got out of hand that he knew about. “i noticed that you don’t really eat a lot, and when you do it’s like one spoonful, maybe not even that. which makes me wonder how you even manage to function the way that you do.” how she even had the energy to go about her day. but he wasn’t there to judge her, or even question her. he just wanted to understand what was going on. “so is everything okay? because this isn’t something i only just noticed, it happened a while back now. one day at school when we were sat in the cafeteria together. only these days you seem to eat even less than you were back then. and i get if you don’t wanna talk to me about this, you can tell me to shut up or back off but i’m worried about you.” and it wasn’t his usual ‘what are we’ or ‘are we breaking up’ worry. it had a deeper meaning. like he knew if he didn’t say anything, something bad could happen to her. and although he hadn’t been the best boyfriend in the past, he did care about her, and he did love her. so the thought of losing her for good, in a way that couldn’t be fixed? it caused a sense of anxiety that he didn’t even bear to mention.

Her eyes turned towards him, placing her own pen down. This had become their little routine, coming back to the Marsh's after school, finishing homework, Wendy even stayed for dinner occasionally and had a small stash of clothes here. It was... nice and for the first time in a long time she felt like she was truly home. Anything instead of being around her crumbling home life. Her parents were the definition of 'just get divorced you're doing more damage together.' Still, she gives him a little smile as he turned towards her, but it soon disappeared as he spoke. She hadn't expected anyone to notice, especially not Stan. She tried so hard to be perfect. That's what people expected from Wendy Testaburger. Perfect, Straight A's, Activist, Put together at all times. No one expected her to struggle, especially with confidence. She was always the last to do stupid trends, but.. she did end up conforming didn't she?

' oh. ' her voice is small when he stops for a moment. her eyes focused on her lap for a moment. Having him notice, say that he worried about her, in a way it all... just helped her to finally say the words aloud. Her hand gently touching his hand, she had never wanted to worry him. She had never wanted to worry anyone.

' I - i know it's stupid. Hell, I've told people off a thousand times for objectifying someone or focusing on looks and I know it's unhealthy but... if I get fat or eat too much, who's going to want to know me? People in South Park have time and time again proven that haven't they? ' He had done it too, when he made her photoshop that stupid photo back in the fourth grade, but she wasn't going to say that. She knew he was young. They both were, but her mental state didn't exactly care about reality when it came to this.

She would never wish these feelings on anyone else. ' I use cigarettes and NoDoz to stay awake....' she says it, and it's one of the first times she's admitted it aloud, and she just hides her face in his chest. half out of shame, half because she finally got it off her chest.

heathers the musical plot is always on my mind. it's just so fun.

he thought it would be a disaster. with the way she asked him what he was thinking, but instead she chose to take his hand and comfort him? support him? do anything but what he expected her to do. and since when was that the wendy he knew? the girl who didn’t let him get away with mischief or anything that could put a bad mark on his permanent record. and no, that didn’t count the days when they were kids and they would run around in their superhero costumes causing chaos wherever the storyline took them. but in school, where it apparently mattered. where his life could change in seconds if he didn’t apply himself, or even just try to get a good grade. it was like she was someone different. someone who saw him in a different way. and as much as he wanted to try and understand it, just like he wanted to with kenny, his mood was too far down in the dumps to question what was going on around him.

but that didn’t prevent him from giving her hand a gentle squeeze as he stood there with her within the school halls. right in front of his locker, where he had yet to tell her that the principal had given him a detention. what he believed was uncalled for, but cartman always seemed to get his way. another reason why he couldn’t bring himself to understand kenny. even if he was getting off lighter than he probably would have done if he went through with the scheme.

“am i supposed to know what a heathers is?” he asked with his brows furrowed, and found himself leaning against his locker without breaking the contact their hands continued to make. “and why the drama club is performing it?” and what it had to do with anything? because as much as he loved her, and tried his best to understand her mind and how it worked, he wasn’t exactly a wendy whisperer. it was why he got it so wrong on so many occasions, and why in the past they fell out more than they were together. “i don’t know.” was it even worth it? going through it all over again? even if they did find friends or acquaintances who wouldn’t go behind his back and betray him. “i don’t think anything will take my mind off it, and right now i don’t exactly want to think about pulling some other shit on him. what if kenny finds out from someone else? and then tells on me all over again? what if kenny is just too loyal to the asshole who treats him like absolute shit rather than the friend who actually treats him like one.”

HIS MOTHER CAN GIVE HIM A LECTURE ABOUT GRADES, right now he needed a girlfriend. someone on his side and honestly? she was also just completely burnt out with her own parents unrealistic expectations. She was to be the perfect daughter, perfect grades, perfect everything while they were out there taking drugs, being alcoholics and generally cheating on each other? It was ridiculous what they expected, and yet, she sort of understood it, they wanted their daughter out of South Park, and she wanted her own letter from Harvard, Duke or Brown, but she also just happy right now, in this moment, with her boyfriend who was finally listening to her, and she was listening to him... and for once, she, just a little bit didn't care about living in this shitty mountain town.

Her face scrunches a little as he says 'a heathers' but it's cute, and she smiles gently once more, as if she wasn't telling him a plan to frame one of their classmates for a crime, potentially get him put in prison, as if this was just another thing that Wendy was telling Stan about while he dreamed of fortnite or something.

❛ You've never watched even the movie? I thought with how JD you're acting... well, it's a musical and a movie, about a guy and a girl who go around killing their shitty classmates and the finale? a bomb that goes boom. If only at that exact moment, a real bomb went off while we were busy on stage, and Cartman was not? ❜ once more the hyperthetical questions remained with an innocent expression, if their principal or teacher was to walk by they'd just think it was the most well-known couple in all of south park simply being a couple.

❛ Listen, McCormick is... not someone I talk to a lot, but -- out of the three of you, he is the one Cartman treats less like shit. If we do this, we'd have to make it clear that Kenny can't know, he clearly is suffering from some sort of Stockholm Syndrome. ❜ she couldn't understand Kenny, maybe because Cartman had basically made it his mission to ruin her life, her confidence, how many times that bastard had made her feel small, so yeah, she was all on board to get rid of him. ❛ I know Kyle and Bebe wouldn't tell a soul, they both hate Cartman as much as we do. ❜

that he wouldn’t get caught. was the first thing that came to mind. but apparently cartman was a whole lot smarter and aware than he ever thought he would be. or maybe he just shouldn’t have trusted the life long friend who apparently didn’t know how to choose sides.

“that asshole was finally gonna get what was coming to him. come on, wendy, we both know it’s what he deserves. but i guess kenny had other ideas.”

and as much as he wanted to understand his betrayal, and admission that he didn’t want to see anyone get hurt, he just couldn’t believe that he warned him of all people. the worst of the group. the guy they kept around because no one wanted to be the one to kick him to the curb. despite the amount of times he desperately wanted to. he was a friend for the sake of being a friend. not because anyone actually wanted him around. except for kenny. another thing he couldn’t bring himself to understand after the treatment he always put him through.

“it’s not like any of it matters now anyway. cartman went straight to the principal and ratted on me. so my whole big idea of framing him is out the window. and all because i trusted the one person i thought would be on my side.”

WHY DID SHE FIND THIS SIDE OF HIM HOT? she was sure it would be studied as being completely ridiculous, but here she was basically falling in love with him even more, and trying to figure out how she could make McCormick regret it, for at least a week.

She couldn't even deny it, or even pretend. It wasn't like Wendy Testaburger didn't hate Eric Cartman, well, maybe hate was too soft of a word, loathed, despised. She looked up at him with a gentle expression, and then a smirk, just briefly as she thought about how they basically had a perfect disguise. They could frame Cartman, and make it look like revenge.

❛ The drama club is performing heathers this year... ❜ a very innocent expression on her face, as her hand held his, most people would be a bit alarmed that their boyfriend wanted to frame their classmate, but Wendy just felt more in love. After all, she had her own past with schemes, especially those involving Eric Cartman. What could she say? Stan Marsh being political and stuff had always been here thing. ❛ I'm sure we could recruit some new members, get your mind off it. I think Kyle would be interested, the New Kid, Bebe. Lots of people who want nothing to do with Cartman. ❜
