Who we are
21-st century’s teenagers. Who are we?
Some adults say we are the children of liberty. All opportunities are available to us. All ways are open to us and we have chance to choose right one. We’re able to make all our dreams come true. But people tend to talk a lot, it doesn’t mean we always hear the truth.
So, why if we have so many opportunities we spend our life on internet, TV and other wastes of time? Why we hide from the world in social networks under strange nicknames? Why our dreams are still dreams?
Some people judge modern teens:“You are so lazy! You don’t want to do something to realize your goals! You’re stuck in the Internet! YOU’RE THE LOST GENERATION!!!”
Thumbing through the news feed on Twitter or Tumblr I often notice posts where teens share their feelings or write how they’re tired. I understand them. Adults don’t. Why? The reason is simple.
They believe they’ve given us a lot of liberties but they’re wrong. They’ve taken it. We were given a template which we must live. We can’t have own opinion. We can’t wear bright clothes. We can’t talk that we think. We can’t openly show our feelings. We’re really lost generation. Lost in indifference and misunderstanding.
We want to live and feel alive ourselves. We want to make our dreams come true. We want to realize ourselves as personality.
We’ll be able to do it only in one case. If adults stop to dictate their conditions of life.
So, who are we? We are the generation of lost dreams and hopes. We have only ourselves. We can’t depend on the circumstances. Our future depends ONLY on us.
P.S.: it’s my personal opinion. You can disagree with me.
