Comment: all these gelphie stans that think Elphaba loved Glinda, she could have told her about the trapdoor but didn't, she could have left alone but didn't.

If she told her about the trapdoor Glinda would want to go with her, you realise Elphaba and Fiyero only managed to escape safely because Glinda was distracting Munchinland with 'no-one mourns the wicked' and everyone was celebrating to notice them. Chances are they would have been caught with no distractions and Elphie aint taking that risk. Even if she convinced Glinda not to go with her, Glinda knowing she is alive instantly makes it dangerous for Glinda, because eventally, the fact she knows will come out.

2) This one is a little silly. I don't ship Fiyeraba but why would you choose to leave alone when you can go with someone else. I doubt it was happily ever after (Elphie would be lost like Glinda, Fiyero can never fill that hole) so it is not even really a happy ever after for Fiyero either because he lost a part of Elphaba that he can never reach.

Everyone got a tragic ending but just had to make the best of it with what and who they had. I can't believe people saw the door scene and still think Elphaba just doesn't really love Glinda.

Seeing this is still funny to me, because imagine being an average Shiz student who knows enough about Elphaba and Glinda's on going homoerotic pissy contest since they keep doing it in public, but not caring enough to stay updated. And then one normal morning they go to class and see this:

Call me crazy but helps me cope

If I think about the ending too much and aftermath I end up a crying fucking numb mess, having my ozdust dolls on display with the hat I have, in their own corner, in their own safe little world holding hands with no danger helps me cope with it because I can see they are safe, together, forever, in our universe. I sound insane but I need to see it at times I am really low or I will lose my fucking mind.

So one of the key things I noticed in the film is when Elphaba cries (thank you Cynthia you genius) and how she never sheds any tears during the entire film. She’s discovered Animals trapped in cages, including her former mentor, Nessa is dead, Fiyero has been beaten to death and she’s forced to turn him into the Scarecrow. During this entire time you see the tears well up in her eyes, you see the heartbreak. But she never lets them go.

Until Glinda.

During their conversation before she forces Glinda to hide, you can see the first of those tears start to fall. And then, of course, she sobs openly when leaning her head against the closet door, mourning what could never be. This isn’t to say that Elphaba didn’t care about the others, far from it. She’s always had a big heart.

It just means that her love for Glinda was enough to finally let herself go, to actually mourn what she’s going to lose, who she’s going to lose. She loved Glinda so much that the very thought of losing her was the most heartbreaking thing she could think of. And I just think that’s neat.

Yes! She did care about the others but losing Glinda...that was the one thing that killed her inside. It was the one thing she couldn't cope with. By this point she was so used to loss and disappointment but Glinda...she couldn't cope with that. Glinda was her entire world.

Literally the funniest but most true thing I have ever heard

I was talking to someone I know in real life and I asked them what they thought of For Good and they reply with 'I loved it but serious question why was the fight scene wayyyy more akward to watch with my family then 'As long as you are mine' or the scenes after. Why is this the funniest but most true thing I have ever heard though?

Even Fiyero isn't THAT dumb

I saw someone saying 'Elphaba doesn't even care about Glinda that much, she left her with Fiyero with a gun to her head'.

She left because she knew he wasn't going to shoot obviously. Fiyero is brainless yes but even he knows if he touched even one blonde hair on Glinda, Elphie would have scarecrowfied him herself singlehandly, he is brainless but he is not that stupid.

I really loved Cynthia’s acting choices in for good especially with scenes dealing with Elphaba’s pain and grief.

Throughout the film Elphaba has to be strong despite all the hardships and pitfalls thrown her way. When she fails to convince the Animals to help her, she doesn’t cry, she steals her resolve and continues her fight. When she messes up with Nessa and turns Boq into tin, she doesn’t cry. She doesn’t cry at Glinda’s betrayal. She doesn’t cry when Nessa dies. She doesn’t cry when Fiyero dies. She channels all her pain into anger and determination because if she falters, if she cries then she may never stop. She has to find the strength to keep fighting.

The only time she allows herself to break, to cry and sob is in the end when Glinda comes to save her, when tell each other how important they are to one another and how they changed each other for the better. And, when she finally tells Glinda she loves her knowing that she has to leave her, she lets herself shudder and sob. She cries until she can steal her resolve once more and leave Glinda for good.
