Thea: (about Eric) And then we had a little eye contact.
Blaise: Eye contact, I hope you were using protection.
“True love is usually the most inconvenient kind.”
— Kiera Cass
The funniest thing that happens in Huntress is Hugh going "uhhh Morgead definitely doesn't hate you" to Jez because it means that Morgead's loser pining had gotten so bad that some guy he'd never met on the opposite side of their secret supernatural war was hearing about it through the gossip channels. Like no wonder he tried to sell a kid to the Night Council, dude was getting called Down Bad in the streets💀
"Find me in another life. Find me in them all."
- Raven Kennedy
(Poppy and James are kissing)
Phil: Get a room.
Poppy: We have one.
Phil: I know. Use it.
James: Weird. All my shirts are disappearing.
Poppy: (wearing James’s shirt for the 5th time in a row) Spooky.
Jez: You're right.
Morgead: That's an unusual phrase for you. Did you just learn it?
HUNTRESS LJ SMITH
“DON’T YOU DARE DIE ON ME, JEZEBEL! DON’T YOU DARE! Or I’ll follow you into the next world and KILL you.”
JEZ AND MORGEAD’S NIGHT OUT LJ SMITH
She was an odd one. The thorn in his side; his eternal rival; once, his oldest friend; and now…maybe something more.

the best part of jez and morgead’s night out other than the Everything?
you can just Read It. it’s up on lj’s website for free as a short story, you can read it before or after huntress, the order doesn’t matter too much since it comes first chronologically.
it’s fantastic and Sells You on these two
Aiysha Hart as Rashel Jordan (Night World)

it’s about the similarities in mannerisms to show characters being parallels and how even facial expressions can— *gunshots*
Mary-Lynnette: You're so irritating sometimes!
Ash: Wanna go make out?
Mary-Lynnette: Yes.
‘There was something in the air between Delos and herself. A sort of quivering alivenesss that quickened the blood in Maggie’s veins. That stirred something in her chest, and started her heart pounding with an odd mixture of fear and hope.
She faced Delos just as squarely as he was facing her’
Delos and Maggie, witchlight page 349
‘But worst of all, worse than feeling his heat of smelling his scent or knowing his eyes were on her, was something more subtle that she couldn’t exactly define. A connection. A sense of tension between the that she could almost touch. The air was buzzing with it. It lifted up the little hairs on Keller’s arms. And no matter how she tried to will it away, it only seemed to grow and grow.’
Keller and the soulmate principal page 535
‘Mary Lynnette felt the tiniest stab of envy. What would it be like to see the mind of somebody you were in love with’
Mary Lynnette and Mark sharing a blood tie with the Redfern sisters. Daughters of darkness page 125
Delos: Maggie has a lot of qualities I find horrifying, but the worst one by far is how thoughtful she can be.
‘He doesn’t know who I am, Rashel thought. She felt both relief and a strange underlying grief. He still thought she was some girl from the club-maybe a vampire hunter, but not *the* vampire hunter. The one he’d admitted was good.’
Rashel and Quinn, the chosen, page 301
