(late) happy pride post
I had to grab the new Yellow Lantern Scarecrow pin from Pinforce, and while I was at it, I may have added a couple more Spellbinders and yes, more Scarecrows, because I need duplicates upon duplicates to put on all my hoodies and bags.
But here’s the best part, every time I order on their site, I leave in the customers notes “Please make a BTAS Mad Hatter (Jervis Tetch).”
Well, they actually announced they’re making him!
So I hopped onto their Facebook page to ask about the release date, and they told me June 18 and they’re making him because I requested him so many times 😅
I didn't mean to be on a first name basis with this small Business , but either way, you’re welcome, everyone. 😘🎩💙

Batman Beyond (1999-) #1
We always talk about dick’s exes - how about bab’s exes ; how do you feel about them ? ✨
Hi! Okay so, Barbara Gordon's exes...
1. Ted Kord
Birds of Prey #15 (1999)
To be honest, I kinda liked them together.
I mean, not in a way that makes me go crazy over them and yell the moment I see them together, but they were cute enough so I don't mind them...
I like how they started as internet friends (and what a big coincidence they both were heroes lol), met and became something more.
Overall, they were nice and interesting together, there was the chemistry. And kinda fun, or better, guess they had their fun in chat...ahem.
(I just prefer them with their male "best friends" AHEM-)
2. Jason Bard
Birds of Prey #19 (1999)
Eh... He was okay. It wasn't bad, I just never got the appeal. Not compelling for me.
While, for example, DickBabs has waaaay too much drama, there wasn't much for Babs and Jason. And, well, it gets boring at some point? Not saying you need the drama to make it interesting, I like Clois and there isn't much there, but nothing really made Jason Bard interesting for me? Of course just my opinion.
Still... The DID NOT NEED TO MAKE HIM A TERRORIST???😭
Let the guy be buried in the past instead of killing his character like that;;;
Next...
Eh, she dated Nick Gage I guess.
Next!
No okay lol.
3. Nicholas Gage
Batgirl #10 (2009)
There just isn't much to say on them. I don't like them but I don't dislike them either, I'm neutral. They were a thing I guess. I don't have enough material to judge, you know.
Same for our fourth;
4. Charles Dante
Batgirls #6
A guy. A villain at that, Spellbinder. As you can see, Babs did say they were never official, worth the mention though... I suppose. I don't feel anything for this.
Now we got...some guy
5. Mark Hanner
Detective Comice #385
Ah, Mark Hanner... Who? You're probably wondering.
I bet half of y'all don't even know him😭 To be fair, I had to dig to find him cause I remembered his existence but not his name or where he appeared, lol.
For who doesn't know him, he was a private investigator. They had a small thing, went ice skating together, Babs (as Batgirl) did save him and his sister (the woman in the panel) once when they got kidnapped... The end. He appeared for, like, a few issues?
A very interesting character, I'd say!
Can't, again, feel anything about this one...
6. Kai Ma
Batgirl #1 (2016)
Kai Ma... Who moved too fast and didn't last long I guess.
What... What even was the point of his existence again?
7. Luke Fox
Batgirl #44 (2016)
Okay it's not like I dislike Luke, they seemed cute together... But why?
We could go on for hours talking about Barbara's relationships with other members of the BatFamily. It was mostly in other universes so no damage to main canon (except in the fandom)... But, again, why? What was the need?
It's kinda like Donna Troy with the Fab Five. She dated or kissed all of them because... Because? Cause she was the only girl in the team? And, well, for the BatFam, Babs is surely the most iconic or more famous one.
DC gotta leave those girls alone, especially in the BatFamily, and stop making them date everyone they interact with...
I would have found Babs and Luke better if the situation was different.
But given the circumstances... I'll pass. I'd rather have her dating Supergirl in canon instead of another BatFamily member if not Dick Grayson...
8. Ethan Cobblepot
Batgirl #8 (2016)
Scum.
He can screw off.
Well he did sort of.
Okay for who doesn't know him, this is, as the name suggest, the Penguin's son.
They didn't have much of a thing, mostly Babs pretending to keep an eye on him... Matter of fact, man becomes the supervillain "Blacksun".
Kinda... Kinda cliche to be honest.
The cute art didn't fool me boy!🫵 I knew he'd turn into a villain, probably everyone saw it coming.
He kinda got his father's nose doesn't he? Oh, ahem, sorry. It's just distracting, anyways.
I don't like this guy. 0/10. 0/100. -100/100.
9. Clark Kent
Superman #268
Did you guys know these two went on a date?👀
It's an interesting thing, but nothing I'm too much into. Not only because I like DickBabs, but I can't see Clark with anyone else aside Lois, in canon especially. Could have been cute though.
10. Jason Todd
Batman: Three Jokers #2
Sigh.
I hate this.
And I feel like it's unhealthy. They're... Bonding over traumas I guess? It's like shipping Jason and Harley. I mean they're better than whatever this is, but the reason is usually "because they were both screwed by Joker". Which is... Not my favorite reason.
Also this damaged her character a lot so I'll throw this in the garbage🥰
Glad romance didn't start out of this.
And now, for people who might be wondering if you're new to comics:
No, Barbara Gordon didn't canonically date Bruce Wayne. That's another universe, reason why I didn't include Tim (who's her husband in Arkham universe and not an ex) or Sam Young (who, again, is her husband in DCAU, not ex). Or Harvey Dent...? I vaguely remember something about them but I could be wrong.
Anyways!
You know, I can see why we talk about Dick's exes more than Barbara's...
Barbara's exes don't have a lot to talk about.
This is the only point I'll give to Jason Bard. Do I like him? Not that much, indifferent at best. But geez, I don't find him compelling but at least there's something to talk about.
Why don't we talk about Nick, Charles (who's a barely mention anyways), Mark and Kai? Because there's nothing to them but a barely hint to something that never dragged itself for too long.
Ethan does get mention a few times, because he's Penguin's son and... And nothing, just that.
We can actually talk a lot about Luke! ...as an individual character, not his relationship with Barbara. And same goes for Clark.
Why do we talk about Jason and Babs? Well, while I personally dislike them, people do ship them. Oh and, well, the people who wants to drag down Babs for no reason at all or her relationship with Dick Grayson do bring Jason up a lot. Just that.
Ted is the most compelling ex Barbara had, and the one I prefer for obvious reasons. How am I supposed to like Kai when we barely had something about him?
Unlike Babs' exes, Dick's exes were more interesting and lasted longer.
We can argue a lot on who's Dick Grayson's best love interest, but for Babs? Ted was great, but it's Dick Grayson. Both individually and as a couple, there's a lot to talk about them, they have history, chemistry. Something I didn't feel with most of the people on this list.
Hope I've included them all and gave a satisfying answer!😅
