I want too say some things. I don't hate gen 1. In fact I think OBJECTIVELY it is the best generation with the most three dimensional characters it has the best season in writing overall (world tour) I'm honestly just mad that gen 2 my actual favourite season is so downplayed because of gen 1 and it's potential is never used by the writers because of gen 1. Like fresh tv saw that the 13 episode show of new characters who weren't able too show their true potential score lower then the 3 seasons of 26 episodes with three dimensional characters and just went "welp back too gen 1 :/"

im just gonna dump all my thoughts about revenge of the island here.
You know a lot of people call all stars the potential season. And that's true too a extent. But honestly most of the time it's about the gen 1 cast. What about the potential of revenge of the island and how they could've been in all stars? BECAUSE SERIOUSLY THIS SEASON WOULD BE SO FUCKING GOOD. IF IT WAS TREATED WITH THE SAME RESPECT AND CARE AS GENERATION 1
Making it be extremely short half of one season of a generation 1 season (who also have 3 fucking other seasons)gave absolutely none of the characters enough time too go through their arcs and feel satisfying. The mutant theme is not used enough like if you removed 2 episodes where it was slightly important the show would not have changed one bit like come on think about the fucking potential a season with a nuclear mutant theme in a show like fucking total drama has. As much as I love Scott it was so fucking obvious he's a schemer like if I was mike and I heard that zoey thinks that Scott has a heart and trusts him more then me I would've kissed Cameron. But honestly all of that lies into the fault of not having enough episodes because you can definitely see he can be good his manipulation with Cameron and the blackmail with mike was actually pretty great for a Villain if the writers just had more room they could've done so much more SOOOOO much with everyone, they came up with plot points that had too be done and complete in like 2 episodes this season is such a potential man it's fucking insane
DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON MIKE AND ZOEY AND THE POTENTIAL THEY HADDD FUCKKKKKK ok so we got extremely insecure guy who hides thing too his crush because with there being tons of implications he's insecure and has been shunned for it constantly along with him not allowing his alters too front too be in control which is internalized ableism. Are we gonna give him a arc about becoming a better person and no longer shaming his alters and realising he doesn't need too hide his true self too Zoey for her too still love him? Pffttt no just do the Zoey thing. we're ableist ourselves anyway lollll 🥹🥹🥹 also make Zoey completely dependent on mike as a character even tho she also has moments that show she's also a socially awkward judgemental teenage girl with a lot of potential arcs and characters she could've interacted with

I'm doing all this hooting and hollering about ROTI because I truly love it as a season. It's great. And it could've been so much greater if the writers weren't so fucking gen 1 pilled and actually had fucking hope for this season and there were moments in the show that showed that. I still think Cameron Vs lightning was the best finale and that all of the character eliminations fit perfectly ....sigh........mike...

I love to think of Mike’s suppression to appear as average and normal as possible culminating in moments of deep panic and despair.
Sometimes host parts experience panic and existential crisis when the fact that they are a multiple system really has gravity. I think Mike absolutely feels that from time to time.
Part of the function of a host part can definitely involve suppression as that can be very helpful to managing daily life. However this only works for so long.
I do see Mike as a fairly suppressed person and telling himself certain things or convincing himself to look at his problems in a very certain way to make his situation feel more bearable. Otherwise it is too painful to think about the truth of the situation. Think things along the lines of “DID and PTSD isn’t REALLY a mental illness because you’re not BORN like that”, “a relationship CAN work where one person knows absolutely nothing about the other”, “that traumatic experience didn’t REALLY happen to me and if it did, it wasn’t even that bad” this type of behaviour serves to make a life the kid is ashamed of feel more bearable.
I picture him, from time to time, in severe distress about how ‘weird’ his situation is. Because sometimes the façade has to drop. About how nobody he knows lives like he does. How no one else has the problems he has. How people who have problems don’t cope the way he does. He thinks “oh god, it’s not normal, this isn’t normal, this isn’t normal, nobody is like this” with a deep shame spiral.
