I'm honestly quiet curious about Davis! Anything really, from their design to their story- they just seem interesting! - R
Alright so, current/young Davis is a spoiled brat. He cries when he doesn't get his way and throughout his journey with his siblings he gets more and more upset because Miles is getting more stern with him and his other siblings are not willing to put up with his behavior anymore.
He is 8 years old and is not a trainer although he wants to be, he has a lot of trouble keeping friends and gets angry easily at others.
He just kinda has to learn that he can't get everything he wants and that Miles's world can't only revolve around him alone.
During the journey he is often forced to be on the sidelines or go hiding which he hates, especially since Rose and David are (sometimes) allowed to help fight team Meteor.
In the beginning he seems very excited about the idea of a pokemon journey and his brother beating up the bad guys, he so badly wants to do that too but that's because he doesn't realize he's not invincible and that this isn't like a cartoon he watches. After watching Corey die he starts being more scared and the realization that he or his siblings could really get hurt sink in.
Oh right, I should talk about his relationship with his siblings.
Miles - His guardian and loves him very dearly, Miles has spoiled and babied him a bit too much. Unlike his other two siblings Davis was a baby when Miles raised him. He is VERY attached to Miles, Miles has been his only guardian unlike Rose and David. Although Miles is his older brother he sees him more as a father than an sibling.
David - He does like David quite a bit, often listening to his rambles about his Pokemon research. David (if Miles is not around) tries a gently approach to calm down Davis when he throws tantrums, but always fails.
Rose - Oh boy he does not like Rose. Unlike her brothers she does care about gentle lecturing, she often will yell at him and insult him if she feels he is going to far. She does not do this because she hates him or anything, she actually always end up feeling bad but she does this because she is more worried about Miles and how he never has time for himself, Davis never makes it easy for him. However Davis being an eight year old child doesn't understand that.
In post game he does get to actually battle alongside the others (at first against Miles's wishes, although he learns to be okay with that eventually). His relationship with Rose and David also gets way better, and Miles is finally seen as more sibling than a father figure (this is kind of the aim for all siblings to have more of a sibling relation with Miles rather than guardian and child)
Originally I wanted him to be a top student at Onyx Trainer School who wanted to try and become a gym leader/take on the league, and well he still is a student there he is already a gym leader now! He became the grass gym leader!
He is very intense and LOVES to battle, he loves to run around in his outfit acting like a super hero or something. He is just having fun, although, finally mature enough to understand when to take things serious and stuff.
His relationship with his siblings is great, Miles still loves treats him as a kid sometimes, but only to tease him in front of others. Miles is very proud of the person Davis has become/is becoming. They both treat each other as equals.
Rose and Davis often insult each other, in a loving sibling kind of way. They bully each other with love.
David and Davis's relationship hasn't changed much, although now Davis is also yapping a lot about his adventures and gym battles. They are loud, very loud.
Also, he is very close with Fern. This happens after post game, but he just starts hanging around Fern. First to annoy him, but then he starts to vibe with him. After Fern becomes E4 he trained Davis to take his place. They are insufferable together. Miles is happy for them though, even when they try and get on his nerves (he has the patience of a saint so that never happens.)
This is all (for now!) that I have on Davis. I'm so glad I aged him up from a toddler to eight years old and actually make him do stuff in the story.
Oh I can give a quick thought process on design (his future one that is): He wants to go for a prince/hero type of look, he dyed his hair green cause he is the grass leader now, the rose and thorns I added to give his outfit something cause it was looking bland originally.
Anyway thanks for the ask!!!! I'm so happy to talk about him.
