We all have to inspect the piece of wood as a group
sibling @springeneticist and mother @pinkyminkymakes were arguing about the appearance of a really big bee they saw so we all drew what we thought the bee looked like using some shitty crayons. I did not see the bee but was told the bee was a "triangle". I also drew the bee another sort of way. sibling's has a human for scale. family of artists everybody
Showing off the Arapaima I made! (Pattern also made by me)
This was the test of the new pattern and I love her. 🎏💕

Periwinkle and Pickle - New Dolls on my shelf.
Abakhan’s is a fabric shop that has been running for about 30 years. The branch here in Manchester is a fab place to explore- it has a very dangerous yarn room, a room of different roll end fabrics sold by weight, trims, buttons and a yardage floor upstairs. It’s one of those places you always pop in to, either with a purpose or just to have a look, and I had gone in a few years ago now for some bits and bobs and just picked up a cute pre cut fat quarter of this fabric at the till (it’s like sweets at the checkout for crafters).
I bought it because I liked it, not necessarily to make anything out of it. This happens a fair bit which, I imagine, comes as no surprise to anyone…. read more on my blog
Wren Larkin is one of my newest dolls that has emerged from the earliest signs of spring here in Manchester.
We had recently planted a deciduous hedge in our tiny front garden and this year was very exciting as it was the first year the blackthorn flowered. I love the blackthorn as it optimistically puts out its flowers before leaves have even begun to bud, and so I have created this little nesting duo and their clutch of eggs as a similar show of optimism.
But I digress, because Wren does not have blackthorn, she has ivy - the evergreens come first; they sit out the grey for us and deserve to be celebrated too. Don’t ask me what the orange flowers are, they were inspired by the vintage 1960’s pillowcase fabric I used for her dress! Unlike nature, I am bound only by the whimsy my mind generates.
